+Jonathan Magee It was a really enjoyable walk, we were really lucky with the weather. I did hear a local women say that they turned back at the saddle last summer due to the crazy amount of midges :-) Thanks for watching Jonathan
Crikey bro there sure is plenty of rocks up there, if you had a few hours to spare you could have built a holiday cottage with them, lol. Great scenery up there and on the beach. ATB
Thanks for watching, it's a fantastic walk. Hope you have more luck next time with the views, it wasn't looking like we'd get any views from the top but thankfully the cloud parted for a while. All the best, Dean.
+borntohuntvideos That was my first visit to Newcastle, only ever been on to Belfast in the north so it was great to explore. We'll definitely be returning. Thanks for watching
+KEV JONES Northern Ireland is stunning as is the Republic, we've still got lots more places to explore so hopefully we'll be back there again soon. Thanks for watching Kev
Another great place to visit Dean..the views at the top out to sea are amazing & looks a steep but good route up there.is that all the UK & Ireland's highest peaks now ticked off.tfs & atb mate..Andy.
+Andrew Beavers That view from the top was amazing, I'm so glad the cloud cleared :-) We've done all the UK tops and Ireland now so need to plan where to go next, Mont Blanc in France may be a little to soon for our skill levels. Thanks for watching mate, ATB Dean
Excellent Dean. Almost like Bleaklow on Sea! looked a steep climb in the sun. Look forward to more adventures from the North Atlantic green. ATB Stephen
+Stephen Turnock Northern Ireland is absolutely stunning, as is the Republic. We visited a couple of times and I'm getting hooked :-) thanks for watching Stephen
+Stephen Turnock Thanks for watching Stephen. I have another video going live on Monday from a beach camp then I can get back to making the Ireland video :-)
Really great video mate, well done on making the summit of N.Irelands highest, it looked an awesome walk with great views from the top once it cleared. Fair play to Amy for getting some good training in on the way down. Awesome how you can drive on the beach, looked a really great time mate 😎 Thanks for sharing, ATB Mark
+Mark Taylor outdoors The views were amazing from the top once the cloud cleared, it was breathtaking looking down towards the sea :-) Amy is kicking my arse now with the running and walking, need to up my game a little haha. Thanks for watching mate
Nice one Dean look forward to seeing the rest of your adventure. You made Newcastle look a lot nicer than I remember it from 20 years ago! Or maybe it just is a lot nicer now 🤔 gonna have to go back there again and do that walk some time 👍
+DownHillCol Newcastle was quite nice, looks like there had been work done on the promenade, the weather was really nice though so that helps too :-) I'd definitely like to go back to the Mourne Mountains, the view from the top was absolutely spectacular. Thanks for watching Col and hope you're keeping well. ATB Dean
Dean Read ha yeah I must admit the weather was horrible when I went. I'm keeping well thanks just been doing loads of cycling stuff so super busy with that, I'm gonna have to get out wild camping soon it's been to long 😕 hope your all well, atb Col 👍
Of all the places to go hiking and exploring, I've never considered this pocket of the UK and it's only across the Irish Sea! Thanks for sharing, Dean. Incredible views over the bay from above. How many British mountains can claim that?! ;-)
+Olly Outdoors You should definitely give Ireland and Northern Ireland a look. The whole place should be a national park as it's so beautiful :-) if you get chance head down to the Kerry Mountains as that place is stunning. Thanks for watching Olly
It's a tricky one as the Mourne Mountains are in Northern Ireland which (rightly or wrongly) is in the UK and people there can choose to be either British or Irish. I'd say it's in Ireland though :-)
Great video dean :)....really glad you're uploading again. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and music that accompanies them, and also appreciate the effort it takes to edit them. As always, ATB ....Ryan
+Ryan Duerden Thanks for watching Ryan. It's great to be back uploading again, I've missed it :-) had to take some time off the internet to concentrate on family but all is good now so normal service should resume. I really enjoy making the videos and the music so it's a pleasure even if it does take time. ATB Dean
Hi Colin, Thanks for watching. Really enjoyed the Mourne Mountains. We drank directly from the stream but I did have a water filter with me. Always carry a Sawyer Mini filter in my first aid kit just incase. I wouldn't drink lower down near the forest but higher up it was clear enough and fast moving over rocks. Couldn't see any dead animals up stream either. All was good :-)
Dean Read yeah I use the Sawyer mini myself was just going to recommend it.. just trying to keep you and your family safe lol Anyway great video and your welcome back anytime.. Take care..
Can't fault the Sawyer filters, been testing their new bottle system and its great. We used to drink unfiltered water all the time in our early twenties but I'm a bit more cautious now :-)
Aye mate, live nearby and you never know when some bastards pissed in it or some dogs gone and shat in it lol, might of been fine anyway? Be really careful drinking water near humans! How long it take you anyway ? :)
Those essential Harribo supplies actually will be essential if you run into a diabetic... so if ever you need justification for having them on your persons, you now have it.

Haha thanks for watching 🤣
How long did it take you to go up and down please (10k) ?
It took us around 4-5 hours I believe as we took our time and spent a while at the top. Really enjoyed the route and the views are fantastic
I’d love to climb this, is it a difficult climb or could I bring along my daughter who is 12 years of age
Thanks for watching, I'm sure an active 12 year old would manage it without any problems 👍
Should have talked about how pure the water is.
I love the Mournes.. thanks for coming. One question though, were you drinking water directly from the bottle you filled in the stream?
Hi Colin, Thanks for watching. Really enjoyed the Mourne Mountains. We drank directly from the stream but I did have a water filter with me.
