I hope I can take your classes for my masters in Philosophy before the Lord calls you home, but if He does before I can, then I look forward to finally meeting you in the afterlife. God bless you, Dr. Craig. You have had an enormous impact on my faith.
Such a jewel in the body of Christ! There are many who speak in Christ's name with passion but few who desire to speak truth with passion. It is easy to persuade people with bad arguments. Sadly, some of the worst I've heard are in pullpits on Sunday mornings, but this isn't true of Dr. Craig. He doesn't seek to flatter his listeners through the eloquence of his speech, to arouse their acceptance by common place assertions, rather Dr. Craig gives rigorous, sound arguments for conclusions which sometimes may be difficult to accept. But he labors even still. With courage and a committment to God and truth, he labors. Thank you Dr. Craig! You've been a distant mentor to me.
Can't wait. I pray that the Lord also keeps me around, so I can get a chance to read the completed work. God bless you, Dr Craig, for all that you have done and all you're about to do (
Regardless of how much would be done by the time, it would still be so invaluable to humanity. I thank you greatly for bearing this important work of systemizing the knowledge of God.
What a wild statement! Craig comes nowhere NEAR Calvin or Aquinas. And to ask Aquinas to 'move over' is just a profession of your ignorance. Read the whole Summa first, then try to write this comment again and see how you feel.
@@mroh6285well, they do have several years to have their views gain prominence over Dr Craig. Perhaps waiting, until Dr. Craigs finished work has been completed, to proclaim its inferiority, would be prudent. These two ancient scholars, are after all, just men.
A really good introductory resource to learn arguments for the existence of God and the evidence for the resurrection would be Dr. Craig's book On Guard. There is also an excellent free online learning platform called EQUIP at www.knowwhyyoubelieve.org/. And, of course, there is a mountain of free materials on our website at www.reasonablefaith.org. - RF Admin
Hey, while we're waiting for Dr. Craig to finish his work, do you have any recommendations for systematic theology books? I've only been able to find Reformed theology books, and I'm not really into that.
Dr. Craig's Defenders class is a systematic theology class, so if you go through and read the transcripts, you'll essentially be reading a condensed version of what he'll be publishing. - RF Admin
It's not a standard systematic theology. It will take the standard discussion of a doctrine (like God's omniscience) and apply the tools of analytical philosophy to it, seeking to clarify the language used and point out logical contradictions etc.
Glad he's writing this. Dr. Craig has made many useful contributions to my life and many Christians'. But evolution isn't a biblical concept. To me, it seems out of place in a work systematizing our theology into a philosophy. Perhaps Craig is justified in integrating science and the Bible. But I predict that evolution will not improve the work.
Granted, evolution is not a biblical concept. But whether evolution is compatible with biblical revelation or not is an important question for a systematic theologian to explore. Don´t you think so? Why?
@@marlonfrometabarreto888 I do think compatibility is valid to explore as one writes a systematic theology. But I also think our standard for compatibility needs to ask "Is this coming out of the text?" rather than "Can this be read into the silences of the text?"
@@davidrobinson5180 I'm not sure if I understand you. If evolution is "coming out of the text", we don't have to explore its compatibility with the Biblical worldview since it is already Biblical. Craig believes that evolution can be compatible with the Bible, even though it is not a Biblical doctrine. Isn't it possible that we can accept evolution if it is not in conflict with Scripture and if we have scientific evidence in support of it?
@@marlonfrometabarreto888 @marlonfrometabarreto888 I think that many phenomena are not wholly defined in Scripture, like the Trinity, but require systematic theological reflection to synthesize. These matters are, to me, the real domain of systematic theology. Let's say someone did just that and wrote about the Trinity based on all the verses about it. Then, compatibility would involve looking at various historical views of the persons and nature of God and seeing if they align with that view or not. One could define the biblical view of creation in a systematic theology and then assess if evolution is compatible with that. But when Craig says that among his topics are "the evolution of biological complexity", that seems to me like it shouldn't be a topic in and of itself, but a matter which is reviewed to see if it aligns with the biblical teaching on creation or not.
Imagine you are a journalist or someone interested in news and someone said to you important discoveries have been made that would help humanity to live better with knowledge. Would you ignore the claim and move on with your life, or run away offended like the devil from holy water?. Or would you attend and listen to the information that may help you take better decisions with more knowledge? I feel I am explaining the obvious and I am not understood. I am suffering the most severe and devastating censorship in history in a social media era for many years and people don't care, no wonder humanity are deceived! I am a poet that writes prose to be understood better. All my work is poetry. Is it possible to understand verse if prose is not understood? I am a psychologist and I want to know what do you understand when I say "to end the war in Ukraine the discovery that atheism is a logical fallacy has to be news". The greatest knowledge of all time, that is going unnoticed, is atheism is a logical fallacy that assumes God is the religious idea of the creator of the creation to conclude wrongly no creator exists because a particular idea of God doesn’t exist. Should the greatest achievement of all time for which future generations would be grateful be ignored to be destroyed? Should knowledge be destroyed? The war is bad because nobody benefits and everyone gets harmed. A war in any part of the world is like a cancer in any part of the body. Is it asking much or too much to share truthful information that shouldn't be censored in the first place to end the war and save lives? What are humanity waiting for? I hope for God's sake to be understood. I need future generations to know the atheist logical fallacy to rest in peace eternally. I don't know much, but I know what I know, and I have lived long enough to know Nobel Prizes are given to friends and family and people don't care.

Move over John Calvin and Thomas Aquinas, a new Systematic Theology has entered the room!
As far as I can tell, Dr. Craig opposes Calvin but is influenced greatly by Aquinas so I'm not sure I agree with your proclamation.

When will it be released? ISBN#?
This is a bit dated as he has already completed the Doctrine of Creation and is now on the Doctrine of Man.

I think I'll stick with the Dr Stephen Meyer approach i.e. only micro evolution is possible.
