Its a CLA compressor first off which are some of the best vocal mixing compressors. Second even if he was using CLA its about the sound achieved not what you used to get there. Stop being a plugin snob thats more laughable lol

You doing your work one way doesn’t make someone else’s method incorrect.. almost all of today’s music is eq’d and compressed multiple times🙄.. doubling up can enhance the sound even further than not doing it .. that’s your preference but it doesn’t make it “too much” if someone else does it .. and yes frequencies can most definitely return again the more effects and compression you add 🤨 .. eq’ing them out a second time is just a guarantee they’ll be gone after returning.. you’ll never realize until it happens and this is very smart to do .. clean mixing.
