- If your Ipod Touch or Iphone ever entered the Connect to Itunes mode try this! WARNING!! Not 100% sure what this does on other devices
But i was on a Ipod 4G running 4.2.1 and it worked!!

This still works in 2023..... I've been fighting with an iPod touch that's been stuck in restore mode for five months.... watched all kinds of videos on how to "repair" it.... none worked.... then I found your video.... works great now.... Thank you

That would be an issue with your security on your computer.... you've got it locked so that it can's download from unknown sources.... you should probably youtube to see how to turn off that security feature long enough to download the program you want... then turn the security back on....@@thee12th

This would help if my itunes actually recognized my ipod :L I cant even get the restore options up.

You might have figured it out by now but you have to hold the home and power button but dont let it go when the apple logo comes on, just keep holding it down until you see it shows the iTunes logo and a plug. Itunes will recognize it then and you can choose to update or restore

I have an Iphone and this TOTALLY works! I just feel bad that I was ripped off because I had taken it to a tech guy and he overcharged me to fix this same issue once before.

THANK YOU! My iPod Touch 4G was in an endless recovery loop. iTunes kept restoring it, but every time the screen showed the "Connecting to iTunes" image. Following your instructions to use Limera1n worked! I spent HOURS researching this problem and wasted hours of time because one method called for installing iRecovery which killed all of the USB ports on my Win7 64 bit machine!!!! The only fix for that was to re-install Windows. GRRRRRRRRRRR. At least now I have a working PC and iPod Touch 4G!
i reset my ipod and now its stuck on the connect to itunes screen i connected it to my computer but its not even being detected now what should i do D:????

mine stays on release power button i released my finger and just held down the home button but it didn't work.

before doing this i tried restoring about a million times. everytime itunes would restore it and then say it needed to be restored again. but after doing this i restored it and it works. thanks man!

OMFG thank you! i was updating my friends iPod and this happened. None of the other methods that i tried worked except for this one! i was starting to think i'd have to restore my friends iPod (which would have made him lose everything since his stuff isn't on any iTunes) then i tried this and boom, happy news Jeremy :)

If you have this problem you ONLY NEED TO HOLD THE POWER AND HOME BUTTON FOR TEN SECONDS AND THEN IT WILL TURN OFF. After that just press the power button and it turns on normal No need to do this process. TOO LONG

Jilla os I've just fixed my 2nd gen iPod touch after it was locked in recovery, been looking absolutely everywhere for a fix and i gave up, then I connected my iPod to my old PC, running an early version of iTunes. It actually legit restored, but I tried downgrading itunes on my existing computer but it was having issues. Use your old computers itunes to try restore it! it's worth a shot

Trying to download liner A12 and I clicked the make it rain button and it just says waiting for device for a long time. Can’t get past this for some reason.

My iPad 2 running 6.0 has this problem for 15 minutes now. Saw this video before i had this problem. I am gonna try this tomorrow. I am really sure you gonna save my day :) ill reply when it works for me :)
Had the same problem as you for days. My solution was another USB- Port. I used 3.0 since I got my Ipod, with USB 2.0 it worked fine.
Wait, this doesn't work on mac? Well i'll just do it on windows. That explains why its stuck on the "in DFU mode...wait" thing. And thanks! This video is a LIFE saver! :D

worked for me.iphone 3gs new br/ fw 4.1 / bb 6.15. im stuck on slide to cancel/ connect to itunes coz i tried to downgrade from bb 6.15 to 5.14.02. After 4 times of installing fw 4.1 (coz bb remains at 6.15) it suddenly went to that state without the "insert sim to activate etc.." thanks alot man. got my phone working again.. :)

I had the same result so I eventually turned the iPod back on and it worked. You might have to disconnect it from the pc.

the power button is the one on the top of the ipod and the home button is the circle button on the bottom middle of the ipold correct?
I fixed mine without lime or anything after doing all those videos! I simply was desparate, left it plugged into the computer, and installed the REAL itunes (I had two going by mistake, the second one intalled quickview) anyways it finished, and i looked at the i pod and saw the normal battery screen (everything is there)

Just simply hold down the home and power button, wait for it to turn off, then release both buttons, and it should work, then you can connect it to your computer and charge if needed.
my ipod touch power button is on the top left of my ipod and i believe it is a 2nd or 3rd generation. do u have any tips?

just download tiny umbrella then it will say exit recovery on the top and your done it workes for all devices.
