Or it means you entered Dire Dire Docks The opposite of a cool level Weird considering Jolly Roger Bay is the first place ot appears in, or the Secret Aquarium
Am I the only one who noticed that when you go into certain areas, the drums kick in? On Jolly Roger Bay, if you go in the underwater cavern with the switch star, the drums kick in.
In Jolly Roger Bay, the regular variant plays whenever you are on land. The ambient strings kick in when you go underwater, and the drums are added in the ocean cave. In the JRB ship, the regular variant plays before the ship is drained, and the ambient strings and drums are added when you drain it. In the Secret Aquarium, the drums variant is played by default. (In the N64 version, it uses the regular variant.) In Dire, Dire Docks, the regular variant is used in the first section, the strings are added as you go through the tunnel, and the drums are added whenever you're on land in the section section.
@@NatetheNintendofanyou probably found out by now but i barely found out today. apparently you have to shoot yourself to the giant grey stick thing, and from there jump to the star. its easier as luigi ;)
Nuotavo lentamente intorno a quella nave abbandonata.
People often hated these stages but for some reason with me it's the opposite effect. I like these levels. They are generally seen as the calm before the storm. A brief lull in the action before the game throws you back into the challenging platforming. These stages aren't as difficult as the others and the music is calming going along for it. These stages are more focused on puzzles. None of the puzzles are that difficult though and they didn't have to be. For me just diving into the trench with the various Cheep-Cheeps and Sushi swimming around with schools of fish overlooking a whirlpool. It adds to a rather serene atmosphere. The enemies aren't even that aggressive. They just swim around. They won't hurt you if you don't get in their way. And then you enter the tunnel and you find the underground harbor with the sub and the industrial backbeats kick in is just cool. These levels had the best atmosphere.
I like them too, not too challenging, but might usually be a bit easier than some of the other levels, but the music is really calming and good, so yeah, while these levels aren't my all time favorites in the game, they're still pretty good.
I grew up with the Mario license and I discovered Mario with Mario 64 DS and also with new super Mario bros on DS Also so this music makes me hyper nostalgic as for many people here under this video
I always disliked it when the original with the drum section was put in relaxing music compilations, because I always thought the drums were too loud. But with this version they’re actually much smoother and I wouldn’t mind sleeping to this one
This is a very good song. And it gave me the idea of creating a new playlist! I call it: Galacton's Peace And Harmony. There's many songs in it. This is the first one. th-cam.com/play/PLQORk79NsNvZ6ZOYKnuaEBmk-tl4b5KbG.html&feature=shared

Hearing this music. you know you entered a cool Mario level.
But I remember always disliking the water levels lol
Or it means you entered Dire Dire Docks
The opposite of a cool level

@Caleb Hintz I think Dire Dire Docks does do that. Apparently tt varies from course to course.
I noticed it too
I think you're right!

I normally hear it when entering the ship but its probably in other areas too, how should I know I ain't no expert.
This is just good music no matter if it's in a Mario game or any game for that matter, this song has sent me and my cats to sleep multiple times
Super Mario 64 DS will always have a place in my heart. My very first video game...

Just like in the Water Temple from Ocarina of Time and Great Bay Temple in Majora's Mask
Mario’s got a very magical thing with music. This is one of the most relaxing in the entire series.
The most beautiful mario games ever
I’m not tired, your tired.
Happy 20th Anniversary, Nintendo DS! You're stil one of the best Consoles ever! Nintendo DS for ever!!

This is giving me huge nostalgia. I miss playing this simple little game on my DS.
So soothing to the ear

I loved the remake of dire dire docks, especially with the dolphin

no
so many good memories on this game
What most people don’t realize or point out that this version is slightly slower than the original.
I realized! I just commented about that and then I found your comment!
For sure dire docks in the bowsers sub area the drums kick in only in the water not on the ground
I’ll never forget this
nostalgia
the levels so bad but man this music makes it up
I wish it could be over. Man i can't listen to it without singing the song. But I like it :]
Something about the DS version of the soundtrack is just so relaxing I’m probably one of the only few who think this but I prefer DS over 64
make me wanna go diving!
This version is just _ever so slightly_ slower. Hits different than the og
Oh my god guys this music gives me vibes of super Mario 64... Idk why tho

Im a DJ and wish ti incorporate this over a minimal beat. Where can i download a high quality copy??
Keep the low quality version bro, it gives off its nostalgic vibe
you can rip it directly from the ds rom file. whether you obtain that legally or not is up to you lol.
