    You can tell that this man has real compassion and not fabricated just for TV. He managed to bring himself to see things from the woman's point of view despite her constantly interrupting him. Anybody else would have gotten upset. There are real lessons we can learn from this man and I'm so glad that I get to watch this!

      That lady has a tough life, 5 kids, 1 disabled needing extra care meaning she cant hold a job down. A home she can't park at and with 5 kids we know she needs a car. Plus it would appear not so helpful advise from the courts front desk.
      She did not have a chance to get the full details of her circumstance over to the judge. So yes she interjected as he went through the case.
      Thankfully he is such a compassionate person he guided her through it and reduced her fines to a manageable level. A great guy.

      @@robertmanning2144 interesting information. Many people don't know when to be quiet, are rude in court. This is the only court in the Land with a compassionate Judge. Her attitude to start would cause her to be put in jail, other Judges don't care what is going on in your personal life. She just can't stop herself and the Judge is trying to help her. PEOPLE can't listen when they keep talking. Judge needs to order counseling. Seems she's overloaded with stress and is losing how to deal with life stress. HOPE she gets how much the Judge helped her.

      @@gloriagraham2821Just happen to my friend yesterday. I drive steel trucks and they were actually fighting over who was going to unload it. They got into a big argument and my buddy was sent home. I talked to his boss who was arguing with him because he unloaded the truck. I told him I told Mike my buddy to shut the ef up. Work it out later. I was in a tizzy when I left because I came at the wrong time. Hurts me to my heart for someone wanting to do the job as opposed to someone not wanting to do it. I told my workplace where im employed that if they fire him, I don't ever want to go back there. This wasn't about who didn't want to do it, they were arguing over who was going to do it. Amazing how things turn backwards. If I was the boss, I would have said ok. But this is Nebraska where every owns up and does what they are hired to do.

Tbh tho I’m glad he didn’t try & make up an excuse, (& for the people who say judge Caprio is too lenient this shows he can be how he needs to be at times, & that he won’t have anyone take the piss,) & btw I’m not saying everyone who goes before judge Caprio gives excuses & or lies or anything because so many people have so many problems in life etc, I find it so sad that so many people have so much going on & u can see they need/deserve a break, so not only does this program show me how compassionate a human being can be to another human being, it shows me on every episode I watch that when ever I am having a bad day & I’m in pain etc, it shows me that there is always someone else out there who’s having a harder time than myself & that there is always someone who even if they don’t know u they care & this keeps me humble, I absolutely love judge Caprio, he’s an absolute legend, anyway sorry for the long comment 😉 😉 may God bless u & your family too, xx Kate xx 😊

    Her attitude was terrible, I understand he was trying to give her a break but she needed a strong message sent to her. Its not just the 15 parking tickets, she has gone through red lights 4 times!! It shows that she doesn't care and has no respect.
    She wont pay the tickets and will have MORE tickets before the week is up.

    • @rodh1404
      @rodh1404 5 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Yes, she had a terrible attitude, but I think she had good reason for it. Sometimes, it can feel like the law is stomping all over you with jackboots, and it seems to me she felt that was the case for her. She said she ended up paying $95 for a warning, and she's having to pay for parking tickets for parking in front of her own house. Even if she's only renting, she's still (indirectly) paying rates for that property, and I think it downright stinks that the city is forcing any resident to pay to park on the street. It's not her fault her landlord doesn't allow her to park on the property either.
      So yeah, she probably felt hard done by, I know I would in the same circumstances. And even though the judge did give her a big break, she's still looking at paying out a sum of money she probably can't really afford for things she feels are largely beyond her control. As the judge said, she seems very frustrated and upset. Listening to her circumstances, I really can't blame her for that.

  • @Izsmelfie

    I don’t think she meant to be rude, she’s just quite clearly overloaded and overwhelmed, and then I also think as the result of her hectic lifestyle she could have a different style of talking than the judge. Than again, some people weren’t raised with basic manners to understand that interrupting is rude, or sometimes, even taught, don’t realize that they’re interrupting in the heat of the moment. So there’s lots of factors to consider there, but I don’t think she meant harm.

    People need to try and understand the predicament this pathetic city puts its renters into - THERE IS NO PARKING at her residence because it is first come first serve she should have her OWN spot that the landlord MUST provide that if ANYONE parks in it THEY get booted but the city does not give a crap about people who live there. The City lets the landlords get away with promising passes that the renter never gets. The JUDGE then deals with the situation by waiving the late fees but still has them pay parking tickets and boot tickets. The City instead of making the landlords provide parking for each tenant rather decides to just put boots on cars which makes the renter have to come in and beg to pay a little bit of money rather than a lot of which they should not be having to pay money at all. Then on top of that they put cameras up all over the city and cite people for doing rolling stops like we all see cops doing all the time and finally they have cameras set up that give tickets to motorists in school zones that are obeying the law because school is out but they get a ticket cause the city has the cameras set up to give citations such as that the schools are in session even though they are NOT.

    The judge definitely seems to show more pity on people who are struggling in life. Apparently, he didn't feel like the last defendant was deserving of leniency. Maybe he shouldn't have worn a Brooks Brothers shirt to court. Engraved on the US Supreme Court building in Washington, DC are the words "Equal Justice Under Law." Doesn't seem to be Judge Caprio's position. Nevertheless, I find the judge to be a very compassionate and considerate person.

    That overnight parking ordinance is ridiculous. You should be able to park in front of your own dang residence. What constitutional authority does a city have telling people where they can and can't park anyway on roads they the taxpayers paid for, to begin with? Crying shame what cities get away with. If they ever tried to do something like that in my city we'd fight it tooth and nail

    • @paulmentzer7658

      Roads belong to the city, and thus the city can determine who can park or not park on them. Before automobiles these same streets could only be used in daylight, wagons and horses had to be kept in stables. You park on the streets by permission of the local Government not under any constitutional right.
