These past few months, I've been playing so many games from the 360 era, some of them not that polished, but they bring me joy. Just simple, pure fun. Without any kind of bullshit that we see a lot these days in video games. Bayonetta, Vanquish, Binary Domain, DMC 4, Saints Row 3 and 4, Xmen Origins: Wolverine and BulletStorm to name a few. I'll definitely buy this game. For old time's sake.

Wild wild west was dope back in the day. I used to watch it with my brother all the time. I saw the evil West trailer and got hella excited and now I'm just as excited if not more. This era of games was good times, rose glasses maybe but either way I'm getting this for sure. Love what you do my guy.
Yepper. Knew exactly what this game was when I saw gameplay, and I will be buying it. Probably once it's on sale, but I definitely will. Love me a good PS3 era throwback. Unapologetically, a video game.
Yes! Wild Wild West! I liked it when I saw it in the movie theater and I still like it today. Everyone thinks I'm crazy, but at least I know I'm not alone. I also loved the song and used to know every single word to it. I even bought the soundtrack.
I wanted Evil West as soon as i seen it. It just finished downloading onto my ps4 and i played for about an hour. I absolutely love the game. It's easy to get the hang of and is very fun to play. I worry about buying games that are too hard for me and then get put on the shelf and never played again but this game so far is very playable not really easy but definitely playable for a casual gamer or someone who is not good at video games. The controls are good and the game looks good except for the color saturation but i got use to that pretty quickly. I just wanted to share my 2cents as a new player to evil west and show some support for it. I'm enjoying it thoroughly and also enjoyed this video. Ty for the video and i believe i share the same admiration you do for evil west. I hope to see more games like this in the future
Love the aesthetics in this game, I mean Steampucnkand wild west aits a great mix. Hard difficulty is more rewarding but it can get chaotic sometimes Most of my death was because the game would glitch and I would get stuck when dodging and send me flying for some reason. NO Manual save and the lack of enemy variety sure are disappointing but the game is so fun and satisfying that overall was a blast. What does the game needs now its some sort of horde mode or DLC that would make players want to come back after completing the main story?
This game is absolutely quality. Early GOW meets Gears, pick this up and just play it and it's a blast! Not every game has to be 1000 hour open world bore fest!
I forget what live event Evil West was revealed in, but I remember the rest of the event being ONLY multiplayer FPSs and zombie shooters. When I saw Evil West's trailer, I had that exact moment of "OOOOOH YEAAAAAAAH"
Im playing this on game pass - its great and i am confused how I barely heard of this when it came out. No matter the time or place, i always come back to jake for his wisdom. as always i am still waiting for my pizza though....
I love hearing Jake’s opinions, one of the few TH-camrs who when they review a game I end up agreeing 80% of the time. I decided to do a walkthrough on my channel after watching this video! Love the videos Jake can’t wait to watch the before you buy on Gameranx!
I saw Wild Wild West in theaters and loved it, and so did my dad and my step-dad. In fact I'm pretty sure I saw it wit both of them, so twice in theaters. That movie was great.
Anyone else remember as a kid not having enough awsome video games to play or couldnt afford them? Now dont have enough time for all these awsome games..
of course, not a blockbuster but i frequented the small rental shop that used to be near my old house - was the only way I played many games, trying to blitz through them with my brother over the course of a weekend.
Since the first gameplay reveal of this game, I always said "that combat looks like god of war 2018's". And now that you said that, I have my "I told you" face on
The game is epic, not too deep a story, extremely different, action packed, vampires, zombies, monsters and extremely fun! 10/10 😎😎😎💪💪💪💪💪…. Oh yeah and it’s in the wild Wild West!! They definitely will make sequels!
He is more an industry shill nowadays sadly. Gets caught up in the whole AAA scene too much. AAA is the most boring unimaginative drivel in the past few years yet people keep putting it up on a pedestal over way better Indie and AA games. Pentiment is so far my biggest surprise as just 13 people made it from Obsidian as a side project. So yeah a AAA studio but with a limited budget and people. It has better writing than every AAA release put together lol. Return to Monkey Island another absolute gem of a game with brilliant writing and puzzles.
@@DEVILTAZ35 Have you watched his show "This Week in Video Games"? Each week he shouts out an indie title he's looking forward to. He also showcases a lot of the Steam Next stuff. Further, his favorite game is Outer Wilds, which I would hardly say is a AAA game. But, these are my opinions and you are certainly more than welcome to have yours. Not really my place to convince you of anything. I am also very interested in Pentiment. Jake did an awesome interview with the game director on the Friends Per Second Podcast.
I'm so glad this game came to game pass on xbox one finally this week, had my eyes on it for a while and I'm having so much fun being able to play it, the combat is amazing and on the hardest difficulty its a really fun challenge to sink your teeth into. Ever since i've platinumed God of War 2018 and God of War Ragnarok both on Give Me God of War difficulty, Evil West is the game i've been looking for. Also Jake i am broken like you, back in high school me and my best friend got obsessed with the Wild Wild West through Just Dance on the Wii, we learnt the entire dance and all the lyrics off by heart. Good times
Played through Bayonetta 3 and loved its... "throwback" structure, that might be the right word for it. A dozen hours, had a great time, and I'll replay it again soon. Now I'm staring down the barrel of Ragnarok and don't really feel like jumping into a 40 hour AAA adventure. This might be just what I need.
one thing i find hilarious is that we will often overlook many genuinely great games simply because they were part of a massive unescapable trend at the time. We praise this game now because it plays like those old action games, but if this released back then? would have been easily forgotten and dunked on. no dout we will see it happen with battle royales in a decade or two trust me.

@@theking-ss and no true crime stayed with activision, sleeping dogs is a spiritual successor.
I re-watched the music video for WWW after watching this vid and it totally holds up. Haven't heard it since whatever year it came out. Banger
Jake put into words the itch I been needing scratched. “Video Game Ass Video Game” is what we grew up on and I miss so much.
Yes! I loved wild wild west! I am 33yo and still have the Jim West round sunglasses at the house lol. Great video as always, Jake!
Wild wild west was dope back in the day. I used to watch it with my brother all the time. I saw the evil West trailer and got hella excited and now I'm just as excited if not more. This era of games was good times, rose glasses maybe but either way I'm getting this for sure. Love what you do my guy.
Evil West is really turning into FWH’s Death Stranding
Yepper. Knew exactly what this game was when I saw gameplay, and I will be buying it. Probably once it's on sale, but I definitely will. Love me a good PS3 era throwback. Unapologetically, a video game.
The Darkwatch game cover. That’s exactly what I thought of, even better with a 3rd person perspective. Exactly my kind of game..!
Awesome game love it. Miss these types of games
Hard difficulty is more rewarding but it can get chaotic sometimes
Most of my death was because the game would glitch and I would get stuck when dodging and send me flying for some reason.
I was always hoping this game would end up good but I thought it was too good to be true, thank god it didn’t suck!
Just the review I needed to hear. Was excited for this one. Your review has sold me.
Hell yeah man....totally agree with everything you said....I'm really happy it turned out the way it did
I love hearing Jake’s opinions, one of the few TH-camrs who when they review a game I end up agreeing 80% of the time.
@@zerorig yea even worse when you rented a game for a weekend and couldnt finish it before you had to return it!
Since the first gameplay reveal of this game, I always said "that combat looks like god of war 2018's". And now that you said that, I have my "I told you" face on
You sound just like I did 😂
@@rebelwithoutaclue9387 we're all intellectuals here in the Jake Baldino channel
No way much more like DMC than God of war. God of War 2018 just copied Devil May cry series.
@@DEVILTAZ35 2018 copied DMC? man you're gonna be disappointed in the game believe me.
@@DEVILTAZ35 what DMC? WHRE IS THE STYLE?
The game is epic, not too deep a story, extremely different, action packed, vampires, zombies, monsters and extremely fun! 10/10 😎😎😎💪💪💪💪💪…. Oh yeah and it’s in the wild Wild West!! They definitely will make sequels!
Shoutout to that magnificent Skill Up fellow for bringing me to your channel. Love your videos and the podcast.
I really loved Hard Reset when it came out on PC. These guys know how to make games.
Good times
I haven’t played evil west yet but it looks so much related to “Dark Watch” from PS2 and XBOX era.
This is exactly the same thought I had. Which also made this game an instabuy
Great channel man. Yep I’m broken. Evil west is a quick fun adventure, I love it!
As a lover of Van Helsing and Westerns, I approve this sentiment.
hell yes
one thing i find hilarious is that we will often overlook many genuinely great games simply because they were part of a massive unescapable trend at the time. We praise this game now because it plays like those old action games, but if this released back then? would have been easily forgotten and dunked on. no dout we will see it happen with battle royales in a decade or two trust me.
Perfect video for this. Thanks, Jake! Love ya.
Evil West has become one of my favorite games of the year. So refreshing and fun.
I miss simple xbox 360 games like this. I'm really enjoying it.
This kind of games are my favorite! I really needed a game like this right now!
