They’re amazing cases! Ive had mine for over 10 years and it’s still as strong as ever. Obviously it’s not something I’ll get for every guitar but if you have a very special guitar then you need a very special case for it.
Yeah absolutely! Hiscox cases are great! And they’re definitely lighter than the fibreglass but also stronger than the nylon, thanks for the suggestions 👍
Hello Fabian ! Greetings from sourthern USA ! I want to know if you know of any case that would fit a resonator concert size acoustic guitar ? It's my new ortega and kind of a 🦛Hippo, its 42 inches long and 19 at the wide part about 6 inches thick and i'm not having any success. Any thoughts or suggestions ? A nice padded bag would be fine. ☮ Peace.......David.
Hi, thanks for the question! Have you tried Gator cases? They have a whole range of sizes on their website. I have their biggest case and it fits my jumbo acoustic with still some space left.
my wooden case is so heavy and i am wondering if to buy a nylon bag, yet the risk gets also higher on a tour. There is a Chinese brand called Moonwalk which makes hard nylon bags that i have never seen before, it makes my MONO look like trash and costs about 200 doller i guess?(i dont know if u can order it from Germany)Some musicians use it on plane. I wonder which one is better, Gator or Moonwlk? How does the Gator do if u put heavy things on it like things happen in a cargo bay of a plane?
Hi, thanks for the comment. Yeah those moonwalk bags look quite good, although it’s hard to tell just by photos. I wouldn’t leave any hard nylon bag in the hold of a plane though! All of them have some give and if it’s a heavy luggage case that ends up on top of it then that could damage the guitar.
i got hands on these moonwalk bags before and they are really hard, at least much harder than a mono. Well, if there is a hard case which is light and friendly designed to be carried on my back, i am surely be happy to take it on gig😀@@FabianHollandGuitar
@@FabianHollandGuitar Do you really like the Hiscox cases that came standard with Lowden guitars? The good thing is they are light and reasonable strong. My case and guitar are from 1996 and lot of the inside fabric including the part that holds the door to the compartment came loose and 2 out of 4 springs in the latches are broken. Yep it needs some work done.. my main complain though is the aluminium closing profile that goes all around and has a great appetite for the guitars bindings. I love the Tric-cases made by Godin - its a box made out of automotive foam. The old style just showing the foam it is made of are great while the new models having a nylon 'coat' had the benefit of extra pockets and straps to wear the guitar on you back - that is especially great because it enable's safe biking. They somewhat cheap but the good thing is; it does not reveal there might be a very expensive guitar inside. I might fall though for the Calton cases, they look amazing and are very solid but it cost you a guitar to get one.
I just bought a Taylor ad22e mahogany top V braced top which is a great sounding guitar the aero case is pretty solid but I don’t think is waterproof. The scale length is 24.78. I love the sound and size of this guitar for travel. I cannot say enough great things about the v bracing sound and stability of the top. I did change the tuners to Gotoh open gear sx510 tuners with amber buttons knobs and unbleached bone saddle which sounds much better than the original Micarta saddle that Taylor uses
Nice! Oh yeah those Aero cases look quite sturdy! Maybe there’s a waterproof jacket you could get for it? Dunno? Might be useful if you carry it around a lot?
I have always coveted one of those carlton cases.

Polyfoam cases are the best. Like the ones made by Gator
A good alternative would a Hiscox case from the UK or Reunion Blues soft case. I use both but traveling I’d say the Hiscox case.

What is the song playing in the background, its so beautiful!!
Hi, thanks so much! There’s one song that I play called Angel by Eric Roche and the other is just me improvising. 😊👍

You could look into Hiscox cases. They’re made of very hard plastic, they’re more solid than a nylon but lighter than a wooden case.

Check out the Gator polyfoam cases.
