- Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley sets the record straight on the history of the late former Prime Minister Patrick Manning. At today’s Post Cabinet Media Briefing, Dr. Rowley took time to deal with the evidence used by Sat Maharaj in his inflammatory statements on Mr. Manning in which he called him a racist. The Prime Minister gave the public a factual account of the matters raised by Mr. Maharaj, saying that as Prime Minister, it was necessary to keep the records straight.

Thank you PM Rowley for your clarification on those issues that many may have forgotten or just may not have known. No one must be allowed to rewrite history to suit his/her agenda. Well done sir.

You inspired me think on Caroni my question is was there an option for the ruling govt to explore alternative export mkts rather than loose our prized sugar industry. If not then fmr Pm Manning is justified. My prayers are with all our TT politicians during this difficult time.

Why is the Prime Minister making a statement about this matter? Mr Maharaj is within his rights to freely express himself, as a citizen of T&T. All of a sudden Dr Rowley is the defender of Mr Manning's character. The same Mr Manning who Dr Rowley went on a public forum and boasted about working obeah on. RIP Mr Manning but Sat Maharaj made some valid points about your actions as PM. The state of emergency to put Ocah Seapaul under house arrest, the hounding of CJ Sharma and the coining of "PetroSingh" can not be wished away. Wheel and come again Dr Rowley! BTW, spend your energy on more important issues.
Because the PM has the responsibility to defend the public record, especially when he is part of the record being wrongfully attacked. We cannot let people like Sat twist our country history to suit his own deceit.

Sir prime minister, what about all the wealthy indians who lost their children to the kidnapping ring that existed under manning and no serious action was taken to stop the spate of killings in cold blood. Yet there were no slogans and protests saying "INDIAN LIVES MATTER'? as much as i sympathized with the manning family in their great loss , and pray that Mr, Manning rest in peace, i must also admit that he was indeed a racist. Apart from jailing Mr. Panday and inciting racial tension to retain his power, he misused the country's funds to to rub shoulders with the world's elite and to live it up.
