You did a great job with this video. You were very patient and did not get frustrated. You are doing a good thing by making this video. You are a good person.
You are the man... your video and instructions were spot on. I think on a side note if you have or had this problem you may want to consider taking that housing off as a common practice when replacing your filter. The inside mechanics are plastic and would break over time. Thank you thank you thank you.
Mine always sticks too but I find that pushing down while pushing in works fine and doesn't require removing the cover. Also my fridge model is a little different and all I do to keep the icemaker from cycling is to lift up the arm up.
Wow! So helpful!!! I have the same Frigidaire model and the SAME problem - STUCK fllter!!!! Seems their filter replacement process is hampered by poor design! You saved me (and my refrigerator) with your easy-to-follow instructions! Thank you!
Perfect. Lift up slightly on filter end and push in firmly and DONE! I was gonna break out my mallet, but really wanted to use my small sledge hammer. Glad I didn't... Thank you!
Thanks my man saved me alot of stress. Been needing to replace this dam thing for awhile now finaly broke down and done it after watching your video I changed it out took me a whole 5 mins even after flushing the system so easy so simple ty for the video
Can someone help me? I have kinda of a off brand refrigerator and can’t find a replacement water filter. Is there a universal water filter I can use as a replacement?
PUSH IN IF YOU CAN AND TWIST/TURN TO THE LEFT(COUNTER CLOCKWISE) FILTER SHOULD POP OUT. WORKED FOR ME AND OTHERS. I did not twist it crazy hard, but harder than turning a door knob for example. Good luck
I installed a new filter not even a week ago and I had to change out again today. And the one week old filter is nasty. What happens when I install the wrong filter?
Filter part number is listed in the owner's manual or you can do an online search using refrigerator make and model number. Filter used in this video is a PureSource Ultra part # ULTRAWF.
I changed the filter, but forgot to turn off the ice maker. Any concerns with that? An issue, is that I thought I recalled that the light indicator panel on the right of the water filter light, should indicate its status. It does not light up (green light, since I just changed it). When I press back on the water dispenser, it does light up green while pouring out the water. Any thoughts..?
Hmmm. Did you remove the plastic caps on the new filter? Is the new filter the same length as the old filter? Do the inlets on the new filter look the same as the old filter? Can you reinstall the old filter and it works? I hope these questions help you troubleshoot your problem.
Different. You can find the correct filter in your owner's manual. You can also find the filter you need online with the model number of your refrigerator.
How do I cycle a new water filter? The instructions say I have to flush it with like 10 gallons of water but my refrigerated would break if I left the water dispenser on that long. What do you recommend?
So what happens when your brand new, Kenmore brand, 9999 filter won't, won't, won't, will not snap into place? Absolutely none of the replacement filters we've bought will engage and snap in. The only filter that snaps in, is the first replacement filter we bought, which is now completely useless. Nothing looks different. But new filters won't snap in. Period. Any ideas?
about buying a new fridge.... is there anything that needs to be replaced like pipes or something? i watched a video that mentioned replacing the copper pipe when replacing a fridge. I don't know anything about any of this but I'm doing a little research to make sure that my water that will come out of the new fridge is very clean.
Thank you for making this video about the replacement of the filters. Kind of annoying that we all have to go to this amount of effort to replace a simple filter.
I am of the belief that America has predominately stopped what used to be called "thinking critically." You see I bought a refrigerator many years ago with a water "filter" that I was told had to be replaced every so often when the light would change inside the refrigerator door. I don't have the receipts from all of the filters I have purchased in the past 12 years but it would be safe to say that at 3 times a year and at $50 a pop, I have spent approximately $1800 dollars over the years on filters for this fridge. Now to me, thats a chunk of money! I will also say that my background is in the understanding of filters and how they work so last week I contacted the manufacturer of my fridge and asked them a simple question, "What is the criteria, besides the little idiot light, that requires me to change the filter in my refrigerator?" I found it odd that I was told by the refrigerator manufacturer that the filter replacement is on a "timed sequence" or in other words "as the manufacturer we think that it should be replaced every 4 months." My response was, "Well, what if no one uses the water feature on the refrigerator? You would be paying $50 and replacing the filter for nothing! And if that were the case why isn't the filter replacement due to gallons of water used or based on some kind of back pressure setting? That would be more of a definitive reason for replacing the water filter, wouldn't it?" To which the manufacturers rep surprisingly replied, "Yes, I guess it would." After speaking with the fridge maker I then took my so-called used or "bad" filter to the garage. I ran my air compressor up to 120 pounds and blew air backwards through the filter and water came blowing out of the filter inlet. I then went back into the house and reset that light that tells me the filter needs replaced. It has been on for 2 weeks staying green, which is the color that says it is OK when I got another idea. I contacted my local distributor of these refrigerators and spoke with their technician who works on appliances. I told him everything I had done in speaking with the manufacturer etc, when he said, "Do you have a soft water system?" I replied, "Yes." He then said that, "The refrigerator manufacturers who use these filters are making MILLIONS off of people who replace these filters and in nearly every instance, they don't need replacing at all." He finished with, "Just don't replace it. Forget the air compressor, just pull it out, re-install it and reset the light. I haven't replaced mine in over 10 years." Needless to say, I was s SHOCKED! If a person could find out how much money has been poured into the coffers of these fridge makers on these refrigerator filters in the last however many years they could get a Phd from a college! What a gigantic SCAM this whole thing has been! A class action lawsuit would probably stop this garbage. When I think of what I could have spent that $1800 dollars on I just fume. It is amazing what you find out when you ask questions and thank God for critical thinking!
The fact i am the only person replying to you just shows how most of us have become Orwellian 1984 type automatons who have had all the critical thinking erased from our personalities . When i told my 91 year old father that people are replacing fridge water filters every year at £30 a pop because a little red light told them to he just shook his head in disbelief !
This did not work for me but I found a solution. The middle section between the prongs would keep re-locking after pushing on it. So I pushed on the filter at the same time take a flat head crew driver and held down the middle section on the refrigerator, not filter, that the filter connects to and was able to pull the filter out.
Thank you! almost broke the new filter bc nobody in my house thought to remove the nozzle covers from the filter nor did anyone here bother to read the instructions. 2 months of frustration🤯😫
Perfect example... Phoenix AZ water system is horrible. Very hard water and need to be filtered just to take a shower... I don't even give my dogs water from the sink. You have to filter your water for your ice maker if nothing else... You will thank yourself for it in the long run.
I am shocked I have to start taking the refrig. apart before I can put in a lousy filter. I am not a mechanic and the manufacturers have made this way to difficult esp. when one lives alone. My model has no light so it's a guessing game as to when the filter needs replacing. What happen to the old design WITHOUT A FILTER!!! Very annoying for me.
Many people that buy the recommended factory filter have the same problem. Not the filters fault, this one is on Fridgerdare's design. Same bad design as their ice dispenser which spits out more ice on the floor than in the glass.
Lots of nightmares when it comes to appliences and problems. Generally, the greater the promise from the manufacturer, the greater the let-down. Save $, hassle and trouble... Buy used appliances out of the paper and the 'net.
I usually buy the filter made and recommended by the fridge manufacturer, that way I figure there is a better chance of getting the correct filter. Here's a link to the Frigidaire filter I bought on Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JAKRAM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It does look like it is more expensive than the Trigse filter you have been buying.
You did a great job with this video. You were very patient and did not get frustrated. You are doing a good thing by making this video. You are a good person.
Thanks Denise, I appreciate the feedback.
That water filter replacement video was on point and simple. Thank you for that.
You are the man... your video and instructions were spot on. Thank you. Your hints and demonstration allowed me to replace my stuck filter.
Excellent!
Mine always sticks too but I find that pushing down while pushing in works fine and doesn't require removing the cover. Also my fridge model is a little different and all I do to keep the icemaker from cycling is to lift up the arm up.
Good information, thanks for posting.
Still works - 6 years later! Thank you!
Great, thanks for watching.
Thanks for the very informative and easy to understand instruction on how to change a refrigerator filter.
Easy replacement thank you so much! I know im not the only one who noticed the refrigerator light go out lmao.
Wow! So helpful!!! I have the same Frigidaire model and the SAME problem - STUCK fllter!!!! Seems their filter replacement process is hampered by poor design! You saved me (and my refrigerator) with your easy-to-follow instructions!
Thank you!
thank you SO Much! I've been looking at the fridge/freezer for days trying to figure out where the filter was hiding!!!
Glad I could help!
Perfect. Lift up slightly on filter end and push in firmly and DONE! I was gonna break out my mallet, but really wanted to use my small sledge hammer. Glad I didn't...
Thank you!
I did what you said, and it's still stuck. What else can I try?
Thank you so much for this video. It saves my life every time I have to change my filter💖
Not my exact fridge, but the technique worked! Thank you 😊
Great to hear!
Great now light bulbs out! 😁
thank you for the video!
So we dont have to put the new filter in the water for sometime or something?
We can just replace it, just like that?
After installing use the water dispenser to run a gallon or so of water through the filter.
thanks so much, great video told me all i need to know , i got this now!
Great, thanks for watching.
Thanks my man saved me alot of stress. Been needing to replace this dam thing for awhile now finaly broke down and done it after watching your video I changed it out took me a whole 5 mins even after flushing the system so easy so simple ty for the video

Excellent tutorial, no rocket science needed!!
My Frigidaire has ice maker and water but no filter model FRS26W2BSB0. Can I buy the install kit to add a water filter?
Hmmm, if your fridge didn't come with a filter I doubt there is a way to add one.
why do you keep your butter upsidedown?
Are they lights that come on underneath the doors?
I installed a new filter not even a week ago and I had to change out again today. And the one week old filter is nasty. What happens when I install the wrong filter?
OUTSTANDING. Very good analogy and instructions on replacing the filter.
how to replace the filter in a KitchenAid refrigerator
How do u know which filter to buy for your refrigerator?
Filter part number is listed in the owner's manual or you can do an online search using refrigerator make and model number. Filter used in this video is a PureSource Ultra part # ULTRAWF.
Wondered if the dark tube on the left is normal. Saw that ours was like that.
What do u do if the filter won’t stay in
I changed the filter, but forgot to turn off the ice maker. Any concerns with that? great video, i had to remove my cover to install the new filter. the old filter removed with ease.
well , our american style fridge is from aeg , the water doesnt work but it cuz of the filter right? but then Where is the filter???
There should be information in the owner's manual on where to locate the filter.
@@Iscaper there isnt.
@@That-One-TH-camr-Dex Have you tried AEG customer support?
For some reason the water is not coming out since we replaced the filter. Any suggestions on what we can try? Thank you!

Can you put any filter or is every ice box different???
Different. You can find the correct filter in your owner's manual. You can also find the filter you need online with the model number of your refrigerator.
Como se podria cambiar la tablilla o tarjeta para q funcione
So what if this doesn't work and it still won't come out ?
How do I cycle a new water filter? The instructions say I have to flush it with like 10 gallons of water but my refrigerated would break if I left the water dispenser on that long. What do you recommend?
Instructions say to run water for about 3 minutes to prime the new filter.
perfect detailed instructions. wish you happy life.

I would only replace the copper line feeding water to the fridge if it looks damaged in some way. The filter on the new fridge should clean the water.
The water filter on a refrigerator clean the water for the ice maker too ?
iScaper1 thank u!
Great Job! Very easy for a non-technical girl like me to understand :)

why is a refrigerator water filter important why is it used for ?
It filters the drinking water coming out of the water dispenser.

What a fucking rip-off for the filter!
