Perfect timing for this one! Fishing trip to the coast got cancelled yesterday, so our crew decided yesterday afternoon that we should hit the river instead! We’re launching shortly and paddling the stretch a little below where y’all were (Sisterdale to Amman’s.) I recognize just about every spot in your vid. LOL!

Love that stretch of water. Great trip. Water was low when we took it too. Very technical to get around them. That stretch it seems like the river puts you from swift water to a 90 degree turn, big ole tree or brush. Love it

Ya know it’s personal preference but I always recommend to leave the paddle leash at home. I’ve heard of too many stories with people getting wrapped up and pinned by a paddle leash. At the end of the day it’s better to lose a paddle than get injured. Most of the time you’ll be fine though!

Hey Gatewood, love your name. I have been binge watching your videos and wanted to ask you a few questions. First do you ever see high end inflatable kayaks out there, like sea eagle or aquaglide? And how well do they do? I purchased an aquaglide kayak because i live in a condo and it just made more sense for me. Also, would love to see a video explaining camping laws in texas, what spots you can camp etc, more detail on how you enter and exit, how you get back to your car or what you do there. Maybe your pick of beginner/intermediate/expert places youve kayaked. Thank you love your content!
Hey thanks for the awesome comment! My only experience with an inflatable kayak is the alpacka raft. I don’t initially recommend inflatables for hill country rivers just based on the question of durability. We have lots of rock drags that would wear through kayaks pretty easily. I’d stick to rivers that are deep for inflatables. I definitely plan on doing more beginner how to videos this off season!
Love your adventures, it is really inspiring my to get out there with my kayak. I do have one question at the end of your float down the river how do yall organize getting back to your vehicles?

Vids are getting increasingly awesome due in no small part to the story telling, GW. Nice man. The "getting older and more difficult to get out" hit home, btw.
I appreciate that dude! I really started working on story telling last year and am glad to see it’s starting to shine through
Parabéns ao grupo. Excelente produção, narração, lindas imagens, uma aventura para aventureiro nenhum botar defeito. 😀👍🚣

Great Vid Mr Gatewood
Thank you so much! Epic TH-cam name by the way haha
Let’s go!! Excited for the new video!!
Woo! Hope you enjoyed it!
Awesome stuff! Very jealous!! I need a kayak!
Kayaks unlock a lot of cool places for sure!
Love your adventures, it is really inspiring my to get out there with my kayak. I do have one question at the end of your float down the river how do yall organize getting back to your vehicles?
Great video 🤙
Thank you so much!
