Yes, a woman after my own heart. Most food is so damn bland you might as well not be eating it. I look at recipes for spice cake that call for a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon or 1/4 tsp of clove and taste the batter and you can't taste it at all so I typically triple it, but I just eyeball. I also make my own mason jars of mixed spices with different profiles (Italian, French, Mexican, Indian, Thai) and throw handfuls in. It's the spice of life.

Becoy you should be proud of yourself for the amazing meals you prepare for you and your husband. This is exactly how I prepared meals ahead when my husband and I were raising our 2 kids and my father in law. I also led our womens ministry where twice a year each person submitted a recipe with detailed ingredients. I shopped in bulk and packaged all ingredients x3 to allow each lady to prepare 3 casseroles or meat with veggies. Next the ladies met me at church picked up their ingredients, went home cooked their 3 meals returned with their meals freezer ready. The recipe and cooking instructions were placed on top
Long story not short we filled our large freezer to capacity with amazing meals
When a church member or visitor was hospitalized had a baby or needed a little extra love we took turns delivering the frozen meals to meeded persons
That ministry blessed me and our ladies ten fold
God bless you and your ministry. You are AMAZING!

For the biscuits on your chicken pot pie, take 6 cups of flour, 3 TBS baking powder, 3 tsp salt. Mix together. Cut in 1 cup butter or lard. Add 2 cups milk. Make and cut out your biscuits how you would and lay on a cookie sheet. Makes about 25-30 biscuits. Freeze uncovered. Once frozen, remove and put in a gallon freezer bag. To bake just put the biscuits in a preheated 425 oven, and bake about 10 minutes til golden. They will rise and brown like any other homemade biscuit. I've even done these with buttermilk. Just add a little baking soda to your dry ingredients if you do. This will save you another step!

@@jujube2407 I agree. Some people are in a season of life when they don't have time to scratch cook. Some have physical disabilities that prevent standing in the kitchen. For some people, processed food, or semi-processed food, is all they can afford. Some of that depends on where you live. Rather than judging or scoffing at others' efforts, I try to assume that they want the best for their families too. They may be doing the best they can, or they may be looking for ways to do better.

I actually save all the onion peels and tops and bottoms of onions to freeze until I get a hollow or two saved up then I dehydrate and make onion powder.. saves me alot as we use alot of garlic and onion powder like you.. sounds wierd but the dry skins are just onion right and have alot of flavor.. so it's a win win for us..

That was a very clean kitchen so they could make their beer.
Regarding the meatloaf--have you ever pressed the meatloaf mixture into a sheet pan and cooked it? Cooks faster and makes it so easy for sandwiches. I smear my sauce all over the sheet pan meat loaf and it tastes really good on the sandwich.
I always make a veloute sauce for my pot pies. Saves so much time and I control the NaCl. I add lemon to my veloute to give that extra zing.

Now I have been watching you ever since but this is the first day I decided to leave you a comment. At first it was just about meal prep, but now I think everything you do is inspiring. You remind me of a young version of both of my Grandma's in different ways. My Grandma Alice was always my inspiration to learn to be a home cook. My grandmother Ila was always fascinating because she made everything about her farm seamlessly part of daily life. Nothing ever went to waste, soo many things were made from scratch. Both of them are gone now but your personality is bringing back memories.
We bought our house last year now that we have settled in I have decided to create two small garden beds in my backyard for the first time mostly because your enthusiasm made me want to try but also because of the oncoming inflation. I'm so excited and watching your preparations for your own garden is so motivating. I wish you luck and I'm really happy for you and the success you are finding in sharing your journey. You are a great teacher.

You are adorable and I absolutely loved that you wore the same sweater for continuity but so appreciated that it was inside out for the last shot. Thank you so much for your sweetness and humility. I’m actually encouraged to do meal prep now!!

This was so helpful, I hope my husband enjoys premade meals because this would surely help me with two sets of twins. Wish me luck because the conversation will take place tonight.

Hi Becky and all American cousins! We love how you pronounce Worcestershire sauce, and if you ever want to sound more Brit (not sure why), we say ‘woostah’ sauce and rarely add the ‘shire’; we also pronounce it ‘sher’, so phonetically would be ‘woostahsher’ sauce. The oo and er are both short, we often flatten our vowels. Just fun info, please don’t take seriously. We brits love Worcester sauce too and love adding to beef. Congratulations on your channel Becky!

Totally inspired this mama of 3. I work a lot as a nurse and with kiddos it can be hard to have a hot meal for everyone before work. This video made me so excited. You go girl
