I cured my shopping addiction by making it my profession. When my company closed during the pandemic, I started selling stuff online, starting with my own items and then buying/reselling online. When shops opened again, I built my inventory and have been reselling for 3 years, earning $3K/mo. Now that it's my job, I never have a desire to shop for myself. I only shop for food and staples, and only replace clothes or other items when they wear out. I used to love to shop but now I just think "how much can I get if I resell this?"
There is so much power in the words we speak. When we say "I" and proceed with (fill in the blanks) we come into an agreement with it. That can be very dangerous.
Wow I thought I was the only one who buys things and returns them frequently. Apparently it's a thing! I'm going to do more research and pray about this. Thank you!! GREAT show!! ❤
I think the *amzrepe* is cute, but a little small for you because you are so tall! It also looks like a replica of the Hermès Kelly Mini. Feels like you might sell it in the future ☺
i love these videos. having them around a table with coffee would be so fun! i use to spend money to save money, i wouldn’t go crazy at target but i would check the clearance section for household items & purchase things unnecessarily that way. i even had to train myself to walk away. spending unplanned money to save money would bust the budget so i had to say no. & not even go over there anymore or into any store to browse because then i will get fixated on an item i seen. the less i know the better. thank you for this video.
Spectacular video thanks for sharing. There’s a God shaped hole in our heart and we can’t seem to fill it with anything else despite humanity’s best efforts and ever evolving options.
Well I clicked on this so fast 💨 because I did have this issue…. I love to decorate….. sooooo I started focusing on shopping 🛍️ with other peoples money and helping them decorate.. some side work interior design…. it took care of that need to shop, and I wasn’t using my own money ….. and I looked around at my decor and said to myself what you have is enough, it’s beautiful now focus on everything thing else that needs tending….
By these definitions I’d say I’m a collector as I don’t have specific collections but I just collect nice things like good value stuff that I got for a good price, extremely beautiful stuff also, and it gives me a big sense of security. Is this correct?
I think for me excessive shopping comes from entitlement. I buy x y z because I feel as though I deserve it. On the other hand growing up as a child I went without for a long time until I was able to get my first job at the age of 14. Psychologically I never want to be in lack of clothing and high quality food/groceries

If you don’t mind me asking, what sort of things do you sell and what platforms do you sell on?
Where did you start selling online
I saw the Sephora & Tory Burch bags 🛍️ and I felt instantly called out 😂
You have to find the deeper issue and solve it! Don’t treat the symptoms, but instead fine a cure. It’s better in the long run; you can do it!

Gulp… I just did that, and embarrassed to take them back. Went on a July No Spend, and then bought all in one day…

Woah! You got Dr. Delony on the show?? Good job Rachel you’re getting some big names to come on. Proud of you!
She has to. Daddy owns the company.
Huh? They are coworkers.

Dr John …. (Hubba hubba) ❤Awesome surprise. Great breakdown on addiction. Your explanation really hit home. Lots of work and I need to get started.
The irony of receiving a Wayfair ad in the middle of this is too thick!
Great talk with a lot of great points.
I can afford any new Jackson or Ibanez I want but I stick with a Schecter I bought my brother 20 years ago.
Loved this 😊
Really appreciate this video!! Thank you!
Very good episode. Thank you
Great episode
Wonderful conversation. Great topic. Thanks so much. ❤
Alcoholics most certainly DO make light of their drinking. In hindsight it's often seen as part of the process of denial.
Absolutely.
Like trading in your 3 year old car because the next generation model is out, because you deserve it because you work hard!

The book "30 Days to Stop Being a Shopaholic" by Harper Daniels was a fun read.
Did it help?
@@leastidyworld4365 it helped calm my habit
Shopping is fine until your house cannot contain any more stuff and it becomes too much to manage. Minimalism is our goal. One item at a time.
Who is here knowing already that they're addicted to shopping? Me😂

We don’t accept it bc it’s not in the DSM.
I thought Dave said no to "Term life Insurance"
He said no to whole life insurance. Term is less expensive
He does t like whole life because he doesn’t want tospend the money but if get when your young you lock in the cost at the same price.
