UPDATE: After adjusting the strap at the back of Da Brim, it now no longer moves in the wind! 👍 Thanks to Da Brim & Sun Brims Australia for sending this amazing product! It's going to make me a lot safer and much more comfortable on the road! ❤
I bought a full brim hat to wear when I was riding my ebike, but it would flap all over and then I thought to wear my baseball cap over it and believe or not it works pretty well. But when I was riding, I thought someone make a bicycle helmet with a full brim and I thought to google it and Da Brim popped up. OMG, it was what I was thinking about, and I ordered one right away, Now I am waiting to get it! Now, after this video I am even more happy I bought it. Thank You!
Any time, my friend! I'm currently on a small tour of Far North Queensland and have been battling 40°C heat. I couldn't have done it without Da Brim! 🙏
It's also a hat that optometrists might like. It not only reduces UV exposure, but also blue light. To keep the hat from slipping on the back of my helmet, I 3D printed some tabs and attached them with double-sided tape. You might need to take a picture of the helmet so that you can design them to match the its contour.
As you'll have seen from the video, my main takeaway was just how great the quality is. I think it's definitely worth the money and you'd be supporting a really good company run by good people.
New to your channel ...love you guys! Did a busking trip through oz about 20 years ago. There's a yacht regatta that leaves Darwin to Indo every year. Looking forwards to your future adventures amigos
Hey! Thanks so much! Stoked that you're enjoying the videos! 😁 Would love to know more about that yacht regatta! There are more adventures in the works as we speak. Will hopefully make an announcement soon!
Have had the exact same daBrim on same colour for 3 years now. Like to ride fast on occasions and it has never budged. Ride BVRT where magpies rule in Spring and this combined with bird scare tape on helmet also reduced strikes by 99% Agree about the dork factor, but skin cancer is not fashionable either.
Great to hear that you've gotten good longevity out of it! I'll be using mine about 200 days a year and after seeing the build quality, I'm confident it'll last. Thanks so much for sharing your experience! 😁
Yes! I found that out when I was on the BVRT Facebook Group. They love them over there! Too bad I had to leave the group because I couldn't stand the guy running it! 🤣 Cheers!
No, Brian - not the case! Intentionally hiding the price of a product wouldn't do any good for the product OR myself! It's available for $94.95 from Sun Brims Australia. There's a link to the product page in the description of the video. 👍 I initially thought that was quite expensive, but changed my mind once I saw the quality of the product. I can't really recommend that anyone goes out in the sun without sunscreen, but when I wear it I only tend to put a bit on the tip of my nose. I have a big, pointy nose and I worry about it sticking out from under the shade! 😂 It's probably less of a concern with the larger, non-sporty version. While filming the ride-by shot in the intro I really appreciated the shade when I was setting up the tripod etc... I think it's going to improve my comfort a lot when filming in the future. I think I may even switch to a white helmet at some point, to try and reflect a bit of heat!
Not a problem, Brian! I suppose it's all relative, but I think it's definitely worth it in my case. I have a LOT of outdoor time in my future and it'll definitely pay for itself! My health is worth more than $95! 😅
Thanks for the review. Though $100 I see is way too expensive for the average cyclist unless it comes with a warranty in manufacturing for life, a lost and found recovery system guarantee in that price.
Da Brim does in fact come with a warranty, although not a lifetime warranty. Having dealt with the company though, I'm pretty sure if you had any issues they would be more than happy to help you. Like I said to Brian in another comment: It's all relative, but ultimately my health is worth more than $95. Just for the sake of clarification for anyone else reading, it's $94.95 AUD and $48.95 USD. Thanks for commenting!

Da Brim has been on my radar for a long time now and after finally trying it out, I can see why it's so popular!
Perfect just what I was looking for
I highly recommend it! ♥️

Yep, gotta protect the eyes!
I've been tempted by it before. Glad to have your view on it.

Been using one for 6 years great for sun only bad thing is go down a hill fast forget it
Hahaha, yeah it's pretty uncomfortable once the wind gets a hold of it!
They are also good for Magpies 😀

I’m with you there. I’m not a great fan of the BVRT dude either.
Hahaha, wow! Glad I'm not alone in my conclusions!
Thanks again for commenting, mate!
Commenting for the algorithum 💯
Yeah, well cop a reply for the algorithm too!!
Awwww, you guys! Really appreciate it! ♥️
How is the packability - if you had to take it off and stuff it in a pack how would it pack away? Thanks and good vid :)
I wouldn't want to fold it in half, but I reckon I could slide it down the back of a pannier. 👍
You don't mention the price, Dave, so I guess it's expensive. Would you say that it does away with the necessity of sunblock on the face?

@@VeloObscura Sounds like a good plan. Sorry, I missed the link to the price but it IS pricey - for me.
Not a problem, Brian!

@@VeloObscura Well, that goes double for a pensioner but there has to be a limit, unfotunately.

But it only works midday. All other times of the day sun will come in from the sides or face on.
Good spot, but I find it only really loses enough effectiveness to be an issue when the sun gets very low in the sky.
You know my nincombrella is far superior to Da Brim😂😂😂😂
Ahahaha - and far more fashionable! 😂
Great review! Sun protection aside this will irritate the uber serious types on the next group ride and that's enough for me!
