- The Beverly Hillbillies is an American sitcom television series originally broadcast on CBS from 1962 to 1971. The show had an ensemble cast featuring Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Donna Douglas, and Max Baer Jr. as the Clampetts, a poor backwoods family from the Ozarks region who move to posh Beverly Hills, California, after striking oil on their land. The show was produced by Filmways and was created by writer Paul Henning. It was followed by two other Henning-inspired "country cousin" series on CBS: Petticoat Junction, and its spin-off Green Acres, which reversed the rags-to-riches, country-to-city model of The Beverly Hillbillies.
Creator: Paul Henning

Cast
Buddy Ebsen as Jed Clampett
Irene Ryan as Daisy Moses
Donna Douglas as Elly May Clampett

Today I can still say - I'm not surprised 😂
Rightfully so! Love this show and all the innocent shows back from this era.
I’m 70 & I grew up with this with Pettacoit Junction, Green Acres,
Munstors
Right with you the world would be a better place if television was sweet and innocent like these shows.
Amen 🙏🏽🙏🏼! I truly appreciate and love these iconic shows 🏆🏆🏆❤️❤️❤️
Watching this sitcom, I never realized how good it was..The acting was so good, they were convincing as real hillbillies.Their conversations about their lack of knowledge about simple technology such as the phone, the doorbell and the cement pond. When he told he was going to Oxford, I had to laugh out loud. The writers of this sitcom were actually very good ..better than some writers of today. I never realized just how funny and unique this show was!! I'm glad we have the chance to appreciate it today!!!
The first two seasons were VERY funny. After that the quality nosedived, but it ran for nine years.
This cast is impeccable. Their timing and ability to play it straight when acting comedically is outstanding. Their acting skills make an otherwise somewhat corny situation believable and laugh-out-loud funny. In addition, the writing, particularly for Miss Jane, is intelligent and employs vocabulary that sets the bar a little higher for the more highbrow viewer. There is something for everyone in this family friendly classic comedy.
Yes. The exact qualities of this show that make it timeless. The cast fit like a glove. Hard to find a standout as each actor steps up 100% in every scene.
This is acting as its basics...stop it. Just say you loved the show
You're so right !
@@Mr.219 Their acting was outstanding, unless you consider actors of today outstanding, I sure dont. In fact I dont watch any t.v. shows past the early eighties, and barely them.
When Granny jumps up and down I lose it.
Why would anyone hit the dislike button they must have blurred vision and hit the wrong button because this show is one of the best old time shows there is that along with the Andy Griffith show
Completely agree!
2022 and I am still enjoying these shows just like a kid. I haven't been a kid for sometime now.😄😄
Same here 🤗😊

Mee too LOL
Agree most of today's show you can't watch
Never missed that show and still look for it now I'm 58 and I still crack up thank you Uncle Jed and granny.
Awesome show.
Classic program
Funny show.
I’m 59 and love it too. Never gets old.
Thanks good show

We really miss real comedy. All there is now is garbage and suggestive trash and non talent. They really were artist, their work was just plain fun to watch.
My life long love of Blue Grass & Cajun music was a result of watching the Beverly Hillbillies when i was a child!
Living in the far north of England there wasnt a great variety of Bluegrass music but that didnt stop me.
I had my dad order me some Lester Flatts & Earl Scruggs records & i wore those records out playing them.
Its with absolute pleasure i dis covered these old episodes today & im in sheer bliss viewing them
Its so wonderful
Thank you a thousand times for bringing us programmes like this
When times were simpler & people were much nicer & content with their lot.
Ive a huge collection of Bluegrass & Cajun music & love it today as much as when i 1st heard it 50yrs ago.
Hello beautiful 😍
How are you doing today?
I live in the same town earl Scruggs grew up in. We have a theater and road named after him. It's called Shelby North Carolina. We're in between Ashville and Charlotte.
If there was ever a prettier face to grace the screen than Donna Douglas I'd like to know.
Sharon Tate- played Janet Trego
I got to portray Granny in a small town play a few years ago. and I just loved it..I remember saying those lines. As a child I wanted to be in the movies but never wanted to leave here my home town. But I got to be in several plays in a theater in a neighboring town. I am now in my 70's but still love the theatre .
This is one of the greatest 60 sixties sitcoms...love it.
Back in 2008 or 2009 I was fortunate to meet Ms.Donna. My momma told me stories of her while she was growing up and living a few houses down the street from her. I will tell you what, even in her late 70's, she was still a beautiful woman. She was laid to rest at the Bluff Creek Methodist church On Hwy 63 and Hwy 959 at the Bluff Creek Community Cemetery. R.I.P Ms. Donna.
I am SOOOO happy to be able to watch one of my favorite childhood shows! It's such a welcome break from the nonstop, depressing news about the pandemic!
the "news", and virtually all of our media is Designed to depress. America is the most depressed, medicated folks on earth, statistically. MAGA .. sure.
@@atbragdots8852 amen
@Jim Bob pure crazy evil
I've opted out of listening to mainstream media for over 10 years after I realized they were lying to us and promoting moral wickedness. Tuning twice during the pandemic makes me realize that they and I are living in two different realities.
So true 👍
I've been watching the Beverly Hillbillies for fifty years now, I never tire of it.
funniest show ever made. at the end of every show my ribs hurt from laughing.
I love this no drugs no violence just good family fun kids should be watching this o know I sound like my dad
I have seen every episode over and over but the earliest shows are priceless.
I too am happy to be able to watch episodes of the Beverly hillbillies ❤️
One classic show. Beverly Hillbillies.
Old shows never gets old.
The premise to the show definitely cries for laughter. Jed was the funniest!
IKR I was just watching Mr. Ed
For years we’d have a running joke when the door chime rang … “… there’s that music again!”

😂🤣😂👍
I ain’t never figured that out myself.
I'm not 6 mins in and I'm just so impressed with this show. The writing, directing and acting are just so well done. Not corny or over acted. Thanks CCC for putting this together. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the last couple of seasons. Somewhere along the way, they jumped a shark before jumping sharks was even a thing.
It is pretty damn clever and funny.😄

I know this is a tv show. I also know it’s fictional. But I just love the hillbilly ignorance and humility of the clampets. They are so honest. Hardworking and God fearing people.
And yet so naive.

This is unbelievable. What a great quality.!!!
THANK YOU.
Truly the finest picture quality of the Beverly Hillbillies on TH-cam!! Wish this channel had all episodes of the BH
A large share of the audience here just might be seeing these for the first time, and I hope loving them as much as I still do after watching them repeatedly since I was a little kid when they were brand new.
one off the greatest shows ever done
Flawless ✨️💖✨️
One of the best ever TV shows, thank you, CCC.
Holy crap I never thought I'd watch an old show, but damn that's good writing
I'm also 58 and haven't seen hillbillies since I was a kid .it was much funnier than I remember .
I remember when this sitcom first came on.Being a young teenager, I remember it was the Vietnam war , protests were on many campuses ,protesting the draft, and student unrest also displayed segregation was unacceptable and it was time for change.During these times, the music was great. Woodstock showed peaceful protest through the best music ever, still played today and one could believe that it just hit the charts. We had promise for the future of our country. And yes, I loved the Beverly Hillbillies...first time that I heard real bluegrass and kinda liked the banjo. Those were the days, we thought they would never end.
I was born in 1979 and started watching the reruns as a kid and I always loved the show and now that I'm older I love it even more it's such a great comedy and in my opinion is so much better than comedy sitcoms that are out today.
❤️
They thought that mrs.drysdale was a alcoholic and she was a hypochondriac lol.
Job well done one of my favorites growing to now love this show thank you so much
I am in awe of Donna Douglas' gorgeousness ! She was such a wholesome beauty & had the sweetest countenance about her
In real life she had a heart of gold 💛 and as big as Texas. Max Baer, Jr was a good friend of hers. She was a genuine born again Christian.
I feel the same way about Jethro.
@@subtropicalpermaculture So do I.
Some of the sweetest exchanges were between Jed and Elly May.
The writing and choice of cast...so awesome

I love this series. So much good heated fun. So glad it was part of my childhood.
They travel to England in a few episodes. I don't remember what season.
I'm only 42 so that makes this my favorite TV show before my times, right along with Married With Children, the best of my times. And thanks for including the very first episode! This only makes the 2nd time I've seen the first episode. Excellent job on making this compilation!!
Striking oil 🛢 is a metaphor for a simple, happy, peaceful, existence. Experiencing rags to riches in a lifetime. While appreciating every moment of a lifetime. These types of shows bring simple joy to me. They make me smile 😃 and laugh 😆. The total package of the shows delivery is pure genius.
You miss the irony of the USA "all men created equal" but keep the trailer trash out of the Hampton's not so equal after all
I haven’t laughed so hard & so much in such a long time , one of my all time classic favorites !
I don't recall laughing out loud when I watched this as a youngin'.....
I remember not getting the jokes when I was a kid - not even knowing there was a joke to "get" - but boy oh boy, I am getting some good laughs now! The writers were so good at what they did! I am enjoying this immensley!!
mine too
Thanks for posting! I remember being only able to listen to the episodes in SW Ontario Canada over the radio FM band that a certain TV station used as an alternative. My parents didn't have a TV. That was when I was in my early to mid teens. Now I'm in my early 60's. It's kind of cool to build up my entertainment experience.

87.75. Believe it is still possible today.
Absolutely brilliant. I've always liked the show but this "beginning" of their story is amazing. Such "clever" writing/comedy that is TRULY WITTY AND FUNNY. Not one of today's (so -called) comedies can even come close.
Excellent show and too funny...nothing today compares to past shows...
A few years ago I was excited to watch The Beverly Hillbillies movie with a different cast, there was not the same humor, I only watched 5 minutes and gave up on it
I know a lot of people in the so called comedy business today that could learn a thing or two by watching this video…firstly that it doesn’t have to be disgusting to be hilarious

Tysm for posting this!! TV with simplicity!! No agendas except to make one laugh. Your channel is my " go-to" place to hide away for a bit.
This show and Green Acres are the funniest shows of their time. No equal even in 2020.
🙋🏼♀️ Hey Anthony Davis! Even better was
when sometimes
they’d put the two
shows together! 🙆🏼♀️
🤷♀️ Actually the last “duet” i saw recently was Green Acres and Petticoat Junction. Uncle Joe was in Hooterville leading the “fireman’s band”. Of course Oliver Wendell Douglas was in the band, along with a bunch of other colorful characters! 🙆🏼♀️ OMGOSH they painted black dots on Arnold 🐷 because they didn’t have a Dalmatian!
HA! 🤣 So anyhoo, think my point was supposed to be that Petticoat Junction was great too! 🎉🥳🥰
@@lauriedavis400 Petticoat Junction was really funny too!
Yes indeed Anthony! Is it not nice to actually laugh again? I remember watching this and Green Acres every day, then we would watch Hee Haw! Sundays were the Three Stooges day, right after the Al Albert Showcase......so glad I am alive to remember this....
Agreed. Someone gave me The Green Acres box set for Christmas a few years ago. Best gift ever!
Jed, Granny, and Ellie lived off-grid exactly as many today would love to do.
I'm otw to that life. Work for money when the Earth n sun got us covered 😂👍

Yep, like Jen and his family can move to better living, but places that were better have been affected by others that has taken that away, where we all rather be with our kind of people. Which establish ones self young, it'd grow on you.
Which others can look up the fellowship for intentional community, might be foundation now. Then there's Backwoods magazine, Mother Earth News, Countryside magazine etc.
id love it
I watched the Beverly hillbillies in 1968
This has really brightened up my cold ( 18C) and snowy day, thank you!
wow this quality is the best.
Ah the memories of Saturday morning tv in Ireland in the 80's. Loved the Beverly Hillbilles, Mr Ed, The Three Stooges, Get Smart, The Little Rascals, The Monkees, Whacky Races, Fraggle Rock and HR Pufnstuff. I know I've probably left out a few too. Back when tv was worth watching. Now all we have are repeats and toxic reality tv which I couldn't watch if you paid me. These classics should be repeated and give us back some fun.
70 and have watched all. Never found ellie but I'm still looking...
This is the funniest thing on YT right now.
Thank you for this great viewing of so many fantastic episodes
I love the ending where Sonny Drysdale comes out of the Clampetts's house dressed and acting like a hillbilly. That sure was fun watching Granny, Jed, Elly May, and Sunny dancing!
I loved when Mr. Drysdale would try to make them happy . And Miss Jayne with Jethro . Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs playing the music topped it off !
I love watching something to make me smile & even laugh and the Beverly Hillbillies does just that! Thanks for these great shows and not having a whole lot of interruptions is extra great! thx lots

Love the Beverly Hillbillies and love Bea playing in Gracie n George too .. can’t go wrong with these programs
I just couldn't place where I new her face and voice - till I read your comment! Gracie and George are also one of my favorites!
