I’ve been in my 96 RV for a year and a half with my dog, Zeus. I love living this way, and so does he. I travel around the United States and find good places. Best living I’ve done in 40 years.
We camped in a PAID campground in Baja, Mex. Price was very reasonable. Gringos camped for “free” outside the fence. Only to come in to use toilets, get water and use garbages. There is no such thing as free, the locals running the campground were not rich and the gringo squatters were stealing their resources. Curious, free campers…we’re do you dump your sewage, fill you water tanks and put your garbage?
Don't have sewage, we fill up at filtration stations, and we pay locals that make trash runs to take our trash for us. Listen to you. SO pretentious even though you live in a camper lol. We've never stayed outside a camp ground and taken their resources. We've camped on public beaches that allow you to camp. Nice try Karen. Creating problems where there are none. I've never seen someone feel entitled because they pay for a campground and others built their rig so that they wouldn't need to...

Getting the right setup and figuring a lot of the pitfalls out requires a electrical engineering degree, and/or a lot of money. This clever setup requires a lot of planning and a work shop that will never fit on that bus.
My friends who have done this tell me everything is wonderful until something goes wrong that requires your RV to spend time at the mechanic's. Big trailer pulled by a pickup is better way to go. When pickup needs work, you stay in the trailer with your stuff.

My girlfriend is 67 years old and I am 66 years old . My girlfriend has a school bus that’s a work in progress . But she is afraid to go down into mexico . I am full time in a motor home so I have visited the Baja three times over the last ten years and never had any problems with any bad people . Only one downside I see to this is that if the bus breaks down, your home breaks down. Id rather pull a camper than drive one. Just my personal preference. At least if a vehicle breaks down you dont temporarily lose your house when its in the shop for repairs. Other than that, this is super dope!

I don't know who would consider going to one of the states with the most dangerous cities for the simple fact of being on the border, if I were traveling on the peninsula I would go to its sister state, Baja California Sur. I lived in 280 sqft for 7 years. It gets old real fast. Now I live dept free on 5 acres I own in a 1, 735 sq ft 3 bed 2 bath conventional home. LOVE IT! I will never go back to small living. For me it sucks, but to each his own. My advice if you want to do tiny living rent a trailor and try it for a mounth.

The same could be said about going to the US. We've had more mass shootings this year than days of the year in 2023.
