    How she lives her life would only be a problem if she said “being a housewife is how YOU should live YOUR life”. NGL I had a friend in college who was absolutely brilliant, seemed like she could do anything she wanted in life, career-wise. She told me all she really wanted was to be a mother and a wife. And years later when she found that man she iced her career. I was disappointed but then I realized, it’s her life and presumably she’s happy. Let people live.

    • @Пинагод
      @Пинагод 2 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      I don't think that's what she said though? Sure, maybe that's what she implied, but even the implication isn't saying 'how you should live your life', it's more so, 'how to get a husband'. She is rather problematic whenever she implies that you have to be feminine and submissive to get a husband, but she does make sense of it when describing it as a job - You're technically being submissive to your job/boss, it's just that for her case, her boss is someone she loves. Of course, as Pegasus says, not every man will want a feminine woman and I personally think that's what her problem is, otherwise she's just speaking about her experience and how she got her husband.

      My husband is a stay at home dad, he loves it, as does our son. My job paid more so after a long discussion we decided I would keep my job and he would stay home. Our son has medical issues that make public schooling difficult so we homeschool. I create the lesson plan for the upcoming week and my husband teaches it.
      My son was incredibly happy to get to spend time with his dad & I think it's a great opportunity for all involved. My husband is a motorcycle/atv mechanic so he does do side jobs. He spends about 2-4 hours 3 days a week on this.
      I highly advise keeping this mindset and not being too fearful to ever bring this up with your partner, as long as you both are in agreement. That's the biggest part.

    When I was around 15 I started getting into more “traditionally feminine hobbies” like cooking, knitting, sewing, etc. I was also spending more and more time on the internet and I was constantly ridiculed for being “so basic” and “conforming to gender stereotypes” it rlly messed me up because I felt I wasn’t allowed to be myself but I’ve grown since then. The issue of women who are “traditionally feminine” being called out as oppressive and even misogynistic is not uncommon even now, due to the sudden rise in “pick me girls” it’s a problem that’s not being addressed. Especially because nowadays there are people who will mock you for being “too feminine” or “too traditional” but there are still people who mock you for being “too independent” or “too masculine” There’s no winning

I found myself watching knitting videos a lot, painting, ball dancing, sewing, romcoms, etc, more so of the "traditionally feminine" stuff. but when I started expressing myself, I got called a "pick me". the definition of "pick me" is being poorly used these days, but I'm glad I did not take those to heart and worked on my hobbies. It's like you can't win. If you're too masculine, you're not good enough, and if you're too feminine, you're still not good enough. You you just have learn to make yourself happy and not give a sh*t what anybody thinks. The "right way" to be a woman doesn't exist, but you do.

    I definitely think the word “submissive” is the reason why a majority of people are angry. I used to be a stay at home mom, but I’m not at all submissive. However, you do have to cater to your partner more if they’re the only one working, I’d expect the same if the roles were reversed and he stayed home. Ideally, it’s 50/50 in whatever way you divide it, taking care of the home, bills and childcare if that applies. Now that we both work outside the home we try to divide up chores, responsibilities, etc.“Submissive” and “high value man” are just cringe triggers for a lot of people.

Sometimes my husband is really tired from his day and I’ll take over some of his chores so he can make music or play video games, he does the same for me on my heavy days. That’s obviously just my opinion and experiences, I understand it isn’t the same for everyone.

    Housewives deserve respect just imagine cooking everyday for your husband and you, cleaning every single part of the house, help in literally everything, housewives do more work than working women (in my opinion), back in the 50s, there was only one option for women and when we have two, TikTok users complain about, someone ban this app.

    I don't have any time to clean my house and cook. Plus if you have kids you can spend time with them. Summer break coming? No problem. I don't have to hire a baby sitter. Kid needs to go home sick? I got it, no need to take a day to pick them up. It would be fire 🔥

    My mum is the strongest person I know. She was valedictorian in both HS and collage. She was offered high ranking Jobs from both companies and the military; she turned them all down. Instead she chose to have a kid(me), stay home and raise me then become a teacher. Also being a housewife or stay to home mothers is a valid job. It takes handwork to run a home and or raise children.

    Imagine if the roles were flipped. If the man stayed at home and the woman made all of the money for the house, people wouldn’t be ok with that. I agree it is fine to be a stay at home parent, but the reason people are mad is because people are trying to remove the gap between men and women to put them on equal footing and this situation is something that only a woman can do. I’m sure there would not be backlash if this was a normal thing to do for both men and women, but because it is a privilege of one gender and not the other (at least as of right now), people want to remove it.

    As a mother who had no choice but to work, it seems like there’s always only 2 sides looked at…mom’s who stay home and mom’s who choose to work. Like it’s always a “choice”.
    Then there’s me 🙋‍♀️ A mom who has to work, unless we want to end up homeless. I don’t shame stay at home mom’s but I’m guilty of talking occasional “ish” BUT only because my ass is jealous 😂 I WISH I could have stayed home with my baby, I WISH I hadn’t missed all the class parties and field trips, I WISH I could have bypassed dropping off my son at daycare/preschool every morning while he pulled on the legs of my scrubs crying for me to not leave.
    That was f’ing heartbreaking and a huge reason I only had one child.
    I also have to keep the house clean, grocery shop, keep the laundry done and all the same stuff, I just don’t get to start on it until after 4 in the afternoon, once I’m done at my job.
    So I guess I’m saying I suspect some of these women are just jealous because they wish they didn’t have to work but I ALSO feel like everybody should remember there’s not just mom’s who get to stay home and mom’s who “choose” to pursue their career.
    There’s also a huge portion of us who WISH we even got the “choice” but don’t because well, bills, mortgage, food etc…
    My advice for mom’s who get to stay home is to remember some of us don’t necessarily work because we chose to work or because we chose to pursue our careers, we just didn’t get to choose. We can unintentionally get a lil bitchy (we know we shouldn’t), only because we wish we had gotten that choice, we wish we’d gotten to be at class parties, we’re gutted that the zoo trip was the only field trip we got to attend and some didn’t even get that, we wonder if missing all this stuff affected our kids in any way, we wonder if we’re doing enough and compensating enough for only get what sometimes feels like only evenings and weekends with our children who we love more than anything…. That’s all 🥰😘😉

      @@draculaura_keyblade I don’t see “our” side being acknowledged much either when it comes to this discussion and it drives me crazy!!! I feel like it’s a very “privileged” way of looking at the subject to think that women who are mothers just automatically either choose to stay home or choose to work…. Having the choice in and of itself is a privilege.
      And if I had to guess, I could very well be wrong, but I bet there’s a higher percentage of mothers working outside the home because they have to, not because they’re just “so career driven” 🙄 This is just my opinion based on my circumstance, in my region and moms that I know. I bet it’s all skewed one way or another based on the region you live in. Women who live in “high income” areas of the country probably see more stay at home moms and the ones that work are probably in careers that are extremely lucrative. Thanks for commenting 💗

    Well, I mean she's happy
    She's the one that's in control of her life, so it's not like it's sad if she wants that.
    Some people just like to judge other people's lives so much, it's like they don't have their own lives to judge
    Already. Honestly, if that person making those decisions are happy, then it shouldn't even be an issue to
    worry/think about whatsoever. People these days mostly just live out the same stereotypical things, that if someone
    Doesn't think the same or have a different opinion on how to live THEIR life, those people get irritated for no reason.

  • @TBird136
    @TBird136 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    People quickly forget that what she describes is a relationship model, not a gender specific role assumption. It's about people giving effort in different ways. The providing person by working in order to cover expenses and the caregiving person to make sure that everything else is secured ike a clean home and food. It's supposed to be a symbiotic relationship. Those people completely disregard the work of a caregiver. If that woman wouldn't be cooking and cleaning, her husband would have a hard time keeping up with the chores as well with his work. In that case, she needs him to provide and he needs her to take care. It doesn't have to be like that but it's a system that has been proven to work.
    Also love Pega's opinon on empowerment because it hits exactly where I think it should: It's about having the choice and not to do the opposite out of spite, whether you want it or not.

    Most women on social media will never understand that good rich quality men want good quality women, their preferences vary, but most of them want a submissive woman. It's your choice to decide if you want that or not, but if someone does choose that life then that's a consensually approved relationship. These same woman are sad in themselves. They'll never be able to have what the woman in the video has...so much for "empowerment." Thank you modern feminism for this backwards logic.

  • @lia-rh7qj

    sometimes i wonder if all this crazy feminist drama is killing submissive women. i don't agree with the woman in the video, you don't have to compulsorily be submissive to be a housewife, but that also doesn't mean she can't give out advice. it's not like the audience watching her (presumably older women) are all going to blatantly believe her. if you wanna be a housewife, dominant or submissive, you do you. there's nothing wrong with not being the dominant one, only these modern-day wOkE people think so. i mean, even if the new agenda is women being dominant and topping men, there's still going to be girls who want to cater to their loved ones, and i don't see anything wrong with it (as long as the other partner is loving too). let's not eradicate the thought of submissive women just bc more "girlboss" women exist. also, let's not call submissive women "pick mes" either, just bc they want to cater to a man/loved one

Goes other way around too. You need to make sure that your husband/wife both agree on it and both want it :)
