Im curious, is there any possibility to modified for optimal precision? Eg : change jaws hook with true metal not alloy. I dont want huge machine in my small home, im not proffesional, just DIY hobbist antique clock that part mainly from a brass
I think you need a bigger hobby lathe this aint gonma cut your gonna appreciate the precision and rigidity
Sure You can, there are many different accesories to upgrade this lathe in Amazon, AliExpress, Banggood. Of course this si NOT a professional tool but You can make very interesting things. If You have the time and dedication You can fine tune it and make it a very precision tool. I have the metal 60W 5 Amp version and it really rocks for me. Many owners of this lathe get frustrated as they think it Will work flawless right out of the box and this is FALSE, as I mentioned before You have to invest time and patience to make it work perfect.

That piece is a Tool to find the center of the stock material . put it to one end scribe a line and spin the stock and scribe again
until you find the center
Just seeing how far off-center the center drill was, and then seeing the whole machine flex until it "worked" tells me everything I want to know: absolute toy, and not even a good one. I can't imagine this leading to anything but utter frustration.

How to you adujst the high of the toolpost?
I owned one of these. It was a complete toy and I was never able to make anything useful with it. The 3 jaw chuck had so much runout that it was basically useless. The whole setup had so much deflection that it was basically useless. It was useless.... I cannot unrecommend anything as much as this.... it was garbage.
Yes I agree but if you modify it, it does work. I have one and I initially wanted to refund it but I could only claim half at best so I kept it, modified it for the span of a year as I was at uni and could only buy parts of I had the money and now it machines hardened brass, 6061 t6 alu is easy, now that I've geared the motor by making a gearbox for the 895dc motor I'm using, with a decent power supply of 24v 15a, it provides it sufficient torque to machine soft metal and the finish it leaves is pretty good. I added more supports using at bar aluminiums which reduced tool deflection. Added an automatic feed using geared motor so the finish is not rough. To date, it works as a lathe, 4 axis vertical, horizontal milling, drilling, cutting and sanding. I am about to upgrade the motors into a 997dc motor which outputs 25kgcm torque even without gearing
I have the same experience I'm afraid. It is wobbling around so much it is useless.
I am sooo agree with you my friend. This lathe is useless. I have one and its only ornament in my desk. The motor is a piece of s%it. And the plastic is easy to break. To use this crap you need to modified a lot of things.

ok the lathe at the very start was struggling every cut .... seems it needs More Power
made it half way before I got disgusted with the poor quality of the parts ... I wouldnt even buy it as a joke gift for a guy who has every tool known to man ..
The key word is “patience”, i think you give too much pressure while cutting, as this is a mini machine, you must do a light pressure

save your money ... get a fishing rod a 2x4 and some good twine ... make a pole lathe ... it will do better work than that little POS ... heck it doesnt have the power to even cur BRASS properly ... he had to put the largest gear at the bottom just to get the torque to cut brass ... and then it was being cut so slow that it started to jam too ...

$185 & Plastic & Tiny & non-precision.... WTH. It is worse than an 8 Mode Headlamp I hot... not bought as even 5 modes requires far too much clicking about and less than 4 modes is always my 1st priority.
