He sang Duet with several Country music Artists Including Words with Dolly Parton. The Album went number 1 in the UK and gave Barry his first number 1 Album in about 40 years.
This was supposed to be recorded by The Late Otis Redding but he would die in a Plane Crash in 1967 shortly after doing Monterey Pop as well as Ready Steady Go in England. They were heavily influenced by R & B. The Show they are on is called The Beat Club which was next to Ready Steady Go and Top Of The Pops (which is still on the air) the biggest UK Show in Music.

The BeeGees couldn't have decided to record it after he died. To Love Somebody was one of the songs on the BeeGees first international album called BeeGees 1st. That album was released in mid July in 1967, several months before Otis Redding was killed in a plane crash on Dec. 10, 1967.
The Bee Gees said themselves that they intended to offer the song to Otis,but he died before it could happen.It was Robert Stigwood who asked them to write a song,in the style of Sam and Dave,for Otis.
