- I have been hunting exclusively in August and figured I was due for another fishing trip before hunting season really starts rolling. I head out to some local lakes in search of crappie and bluegill and was fortunate enough to catch two for a good meal.

Bluegill and crappie are my favorite fish to eat! I never have much luck catching crappie, but my grandpa was a master at catching them. We lost him earlier this month and I still miss him so much, my absolute favorite memories of him and my grandma was fishing for crappie, bringing them home and gutting them, then helping my grandma fry them all up. So delicious!
same here in NY mountains, we dont get too many Crappie, but they are delicious.

I used to catch crappies and blue gills here in Central California with my friends during my college days. I'm not a fisherman so this video brings back good memories because my friends have moved and one passed away. God bless.
