York=Stark Lancaster=Lannister Tudor=The ones who take the iron throne in the end Edward IV=Robb Stark and Robert Baratheon Richard of York = Eddard Stark White queen = Talisa/Jeyne and Cersei The lancaster queen = CerseiThe lancaster queens son = Joffrey Anne Neville = Sansa The lancaster king = the mad king George = Theon and Renly The kingmaker = Roose Bolton (kind of) and Jon Arryn (kind of) Margaret = Catelyn Tully Henry Tudor = the winner of the game of thrones
+Sigurd Torvaldsson Yup, hence the GAME of thrones. It really was! But that aside, its still history that played out in real life, therefore the history we have to understand whether we agree or not. Cheers :)
Sigurd Torvaldsson Edward IV's not like Robert Baratheon at all. Maybe a little that he took a whore, but he's really more like Henry VIII despite him not appearing in this series. They're both 2 fat son's of bitches and they went whoring a lot later in their life.
oh. my. god. this series is perfect! Just as I'd imagined it whilst reading the books- though I did expect there to be more elaborate, sky-reaching head peices but oh well. This is not a docudrama but rather a piece of dramatised historical fiction that is quite exciting and pleasing to the eye :)
Since I know nothing of British history apart from what I've read in Philippa Gregory's books I loved this series a lot. I've heard that it's not very historically accurate, but it's very entertaining and the acting is very good.
I will be watching this for Rebecca Ferguson who plays the white queen, she's from Sweden and played in a swedish tvseries when I was young(er). Exciting!
Interesting how the actresses are all so thin when actually this kind of look during that time would be bad because people would associate with being poor and starvation
+linegenrou they're more beautiful that way ( probably whiners and fat people will criticize me, go ahead) and it gets more pleasant to watch, if it were a bunch of fat people, i wouldn't watch
Eron The King lmfao I'm thin (fatshaming doesn't work with me, you tried) I'm just saying that it wasn't considered attractive and it was looked down upon. And I believe they weren't "FAT", they were not just supermodel thin.
EndoftheLine || You seriously think the executives would have gone for that? attractive actors bring in money. all they care about is profits so shut the fuck up.
Despite speculation that the programme was designed with a second season in mind, on 20 August 2013, the BBC announced they were not commissioning a second season. However, despite the BBC’s decision, Starz is set to recommission a follow-up, and hopes to develop The White Princess: a standalone mini-series also based on Philippa Gregory’s novel series The Cousins’ War
i had just warched the first episode and had been a great fan of the book. the tv series does do the book justice.it's very good :D cant wait for next episode
Phillipa Gregory's book the White Queen is a novel and this series is based on her book, but I was referring to Alison Weir who is a historian. She wrote Lancaster and York; The Wars of the Roses.
Most of the filming was actually done in Bruges Belgium. I actually was one of the extras in a couple of shots so I wonder if i will make the cut and have my 2 seconds of fame probably not though :-p
+NordicNicklas I believe that the BBC declined the opportunity to make a second series. But there is renewed hope as American producers Starz have agreed to commission a second series called 'The White Princess' :) :) :)
A Bradford With the same actors? It's such a good series. I love how the witches used their powers, but I was so sad when Jacquetta died. She was my favorite character. :)
+Greatriver I don't need to have a special reason. I just love historical drama series! This ones awesome because it was the inspiration for Game of Thrones.
tomurg this one.. i liked GoT mostly for its intrigues and whatnot, plus there really are no dead times..if u know what i mean.. thus just wanted to know what's awesome bout it
This is very true...The books are a wonderful piece of art...I hope that this will be a good series and they put the books by Phillipa Gregory about this war onto series
elizabeth woodville is part of the war of the roses which is what george rr martin based game of thrones on- the similarities end there!! cannot wait for this- my as level history in a tv series !!!!
my first drama series about the UK history, really2 love it! i hope there will be another great drama series that i can watch, or maybe anybody has a references about what drama series should i watch?
It's about time we had a War of the Roses drama. The Tudor period has been done to death. Elizabeth Woodville is just as interesting as Anne Boleyn. However since this is also based on a book, there will be some fictional elements woven in with the factual elements. I hope we see Margaret of Anjou in this too.
I love this series, told from the women perspective, we see all sides of the war, and the lives of Edward two brothers, meddling mother in laws and alleged witchcraft, and such talented cast
Pleasantly surprised. First episode I thought was smashing. As I said today's writers can't do religion, so PG and the scriptwriters wisely didnt try to. They just stuck to the story of the relationships and related politics. Lurv the scene where Elizabeth and her mother confront Ceciley, Duchess of York. Well done!
Edward was said to be an extremely good-looking man. Philippe de Commynes, who saw him on several occasions, thought the King handsomer than any prince he knew - "I don't remember ever having seen a man more handsome than he was Commynes also described him as "a man so vigorous and handsome that he might have been made for the pleasures of the flesh" Edward's impressive physique and height (approximately 6'4 1/2"; in his armour he was 6'7" ) were set off by splendid clothes, When Parliament met at Westminster on 12 November 1461, the Speaker, Sir James Strangways - who had fought by the side of Edward's father, the Duke of York, at Wakefield and survived - referred to "the beauty of person that it hath pleased Almighty God to send you" and "the wisdom that, by his grace, accompanies it".
Love this show. Elizabeth Woodvile is now one of my favourite Queens of England. The actors and actresses in this show are amaizing!
She was a pushy unscrupulous b**ch
Just looking for things to watch with Rebacca Ferguson in them. She was AMAZING in MI5
Exactly why I'm here too! Just watched Mission Impossible and fell in love, heh
me doing the same 3 years after
Please make more series like this..I love historical series!
I completely blame Aneurin Barnard's perfectness for making me care way too much for Richard III
He was actually not the bad guy he is painted as. Or so I heard. And definitely handsome.
His face is pretty accurate for how Richard would have looked
Same here
York=Stark
Lancaster=Lannister
Tudor=The ones who take the iron throne in the end
Edward IV=Robb Stark and Robert Baratheon
Richard of York = Eddard Stark
White queen = Talisa/Jeyne and Cersei
The lancaster queen = CerseiThe lancaster queens son = Joffrey
Anne Neville = Sansa
The lancaster king = the mad king
George = Theon and Renly
The kingmaker = Roose Bolton (kind of) and Jon Arryn (kind of)
Margaret = Catelyn Tully
Henry Tudor = the winner of the game of thrones
Richard iii -- stannis
+Sigurd Torvaldsson Yup, hence the GAME of thrones. It really was! But that aside, its still history that played out in real life, therefore the history we have to understand whether we agree or not. Cheers :)
Henry VIII = Robbert Baratheon.
tomurg That makes little sense. Why is that?
Sigurd Torvaldsson Edward IV's not like Robert Baratheon at all. Maybe a little that he took a whore, but he's really more like Henry VIII despite him not appearing in this series. They're both 2 fat son's of bitches and they went whoring a lot later in their life.
oh. my. god. this series is perfect! Just as I'd imagined it whilst reading the books- though I did expect there to be more elaborate, sky-reaching head peices but oh well. This is not a docudrama but rather a piece of dramatised historical fiction that is quite exciting and pleasing to the eye :)
i love how the serie moves forward so quickly it's really refreshing. Those kids are growing up soooooo freakin fast!
James Frain is almost in every Tudor related movie/series x) ; Elizabeth (1998) , The Tudors and now here xDD
onemoreheartbreak lol, true
Cuz he’s a really good actor in my opinion!!!
Since I know nothing of British history apart from what I've read in Philippa Gregory's books I loved this series a lot. I've heard that it's not very historically accurate, but it's very entertaining and the acting is very good.
Cromwell, what are you doing!? xD
How I know I watch too many period dramas 😂
Playing another conselluer that meets bad ends I guess
Irene Benigni haha
Cromwell- it is one century after the war of Roses :)
PLEASE WE NEED A SEASON 2!!!!!!! The White Queen is one of my favourite series!!!!!!!!!!
Such a brilliantly written show.
it's brilliantly written because it was literally modified real history
@soTurkishyeahsame here along with Tudors
The actor playing Richard looks so ravishing that it's hardly ever possible to look at other men (I mean, in general)
I agree friend the actors name is Aneurin Barnard he is welsh, I thought you might like to know this :)
Damn! So true! The best actor in my opinion in this show
The music is by a band called Coves, the song is called Wicked Game. It's a cover of the original song by Chris Isaak xxx
Thank you sooo much 🖤
All of you are bragging about how hot Max Irons is (Edward). I haven't watched it yet but Richard looks more interesting.
CandyAndromeda Yess THANK YOU
He’s not, unfortunately
0:14 Craster? 0:16 The Waif?
Yes
I will be watching this for Rebecca Ferguson who plays the white queen, she's from Sweden and played in a swedish tvseries when I was young(er). Exciting!
missfasai - She is related to Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.
Seriously, why there is people on the comments comparing this show with Reign? LMAO
COZ REIGN WAS A FORCE TO RECON WITH
Probably because they are the same genre. Historical fiction wrapped in a bit of truth.
i'm trying to find shows similar to Reign cause i just finished season 1 and i don't know what to do with my life until season 2 comes out LOL
yeah i just finished Reign too and am here trying to find something a like to it thats why i am here actually
Cindy Fang Outlander is amazing you should try
Chicley Holmes and I'm here because I need to fill my Outlander void now that season 1 has ended hahaha
Zara Ali y same here april 2016 is so far away xD
+Cindy Fang omg same, except that i'm waiting for season 3 to continue in april.
Interesting how the actresses are all so thin when actually this kind of look during that time would be bad because people would associate with being poor and starvation
+linegenrou they're more beautiful that way ( probably whiners and fat people will criticize me, go ahead) and it gets more pleasant to watch, if it were a bunch of fat people, i wouldn't watch
that is cause you are deep....
I think that most of the noble enlish women were around 150-155 cm and size 36. Which is voluptuous but certainly not fat.
The song is, Chris Isaak, Wicked Game. I prefer the series theme.
Wicked game - Gemma Hayes
I just finished watching Season 1 over the weekend. Seriously obsessed. Love it. Cannot wait till season 2.
there won't be season 2.
***** Yes there will
Captain Flint I thought there wasn't going to be?
Despite speculation that the programme was designed with a second season in mind, on 20 August 2013, the BBC announced they were not commissioning a second season. However, despite the BBC’s decision, Starz is set to recommission a follow-up, and hopes to develop The White Princess: a standalone mini-series also based on Philippa Gregory’s novel series The Cousins’ War
To this day I still listen to the sounds of this song John Lunn really snapped with this one
I love this series my favourite would have to be Richard III
They did the right thing to cast Rebecca Ferguson, she's beautiful dan her acting was amazing 😍👍
I wish there could have been a second series :(
It was okay. Definitely not as bad as the critics said it was.
Worth a watch I suppose
i had just warched the first episode and had been a great fan of the book.
the tv series does do the book justice.it's very good :D
cant wait for next episode
Phillipa Gregory's book the White Queen is a novel and this series is based on her book, but I was referring to Alison Weir who is a historian. She wrote Lancaster and York; The Wars of the Roses.
David Oakes!
Faye marsay who plays anne neville, she started out in one of my student films back in 2008! Fab to hear she's in this, will be watching :)
the best series STARZ made!!
this series is from BBC
STARZ made the sequel, but they had nothing to do with this. This was a BBC drama. And the best series STARZ made is, imo, Outlander.
The editing is so badass
My company promotes 'Lightbox' (the system this series is being shown on here and in other countries) .. Im very proud! The show looks very good.
I want Freya Mavor in Game of Thrones, please!
bbc makes the best tv series.the fall and now this.cant wait
Most of the filming was actually done in Bruges Belgium. I actually was one of the extras in a couple of shots so I wonder if i will make the cut and have my 2 seconds of fame probably not though :-p
So did you?
Perfect song
i was in Gent when they were preparing the castle for the filming and it looked terrific!!!
It's a band called 'Coves' and the singer's name is Beck Wood.
Can we talk about the song in the background and how it fits with this trailer (as well as the serie)
Its the same song as in one of the GoT trailers
I love this song !
This looks great! I love these kind of series! When will ite officially shown?
It's a cover of Wicked Game by a band called Coves. The original is by Chris Isaaks :)
que pena que hayan parado sus grabaciones, excelente primera temporada pero nunca se sabrá el final :(
@@Gatitosygatitos también hay la secuela que se llama white princess 👸
Loved this series so much, books and BBC adaptation. Why on earth didn't BBC commission a second series?
+A Bradford
Will there not be a season 2? :/
+NordicNicklas I believe that the BBC declined the opportunity to make a second series. But there is renewed hope as American producers Starz have agreed to commission a second series called 'The White Princess' :) :) :)
A Bradford
With the same actors?
It's such a good series. I love how the witches used their powers, but I was so sad when Jacquetta died. She was my favorite character. :)
NordicNicklas Yes, I believe they will be using the same actors :)
A Bradford

***** Unless you continue to the tudors, who are related to the Yorks through Henry VIIIs mother, Elizabeth of York.
There is a new series called "The White Princess" it is about her (Elizabeth Woodville) daughter , Elizabeth of York
Just watched end of first season. Like the last five seconds. It hits you. The story loops around OMAGAD..
I love the Tudors!
I know. The two houses of the red and the white rose
Me gustó mucho esta serie televisiva y amo, amo la novela. Espero y en mi país traduscan las otras dos partes.
I'm totally in love with this show :P

So, I'm actually really enjoying this show.
Luv what one of the reviewers called it; 'The Phwoooaars of the Roses'!
I like the music
I love this series, told from the women perspective, we see all sides of the war, and the lives of Edward two brothers, meddling mother in laws and alleged witchcraft, and such talented cast
Song??
I know but I just meant the popularity of medieval themed shows on TV right now and the similarity in the way it's filmed.
Another swedish actress in a big role
Pleasantly surprised. First episode I thought was smashing. As I said today's writers can't do religion, so PG and the scriptwriters wisely didnt try to. They just stuck to the story of the relationships and related politics. Lurv the scene where Elizabeth and her mother confront Ceciley, Duchess of York. Well done!
Excellent series ! Only 1st episode is bit boring.....bt all other are very good and exciting and Freya Mavor is looking amazing as Lizzy
I thought the song sounded familiar. It's a cover of Chris Issak's 'Wicked Game'.
They could've done so much more with it.

compared to the Monarchs of today 😑 who aren't handsome...
The song?
when will be aired?.....anyway i will watch it!.....british television is the best!
