This is a comment I make after having to deal with the after sale service from Xikar. This company takes it seriously. They replaced a faulty lighter I got from a oversea retailer. I wrote a number of unfair messages but the Xikar company was not to blame. That oversea shop was. Xikar made everything to solve the problem the very day they heard what was going on. In an attempt to restore some fairness here, I have to say they kindly listened to my rant when they could have simply sent me back to that shop. Instead; they took the problem on them and sent me a brand new lighter without judging my attitude. Be sure to buy straight from them. I thank you guys. My trust in your company is fully restored.
i have a metal clipper jet lighter and the flame was weak. I thought it had no pressure but after seeing this video I cleaned the burner like you shown. thanks man I learned something new and fixed my lighter
just so you know I thought there's no way it's this simple but I must say it really works simple keyboard cleaner does wonders good luck with your encounters thanks xiakar
Dude your life saver mine started doing the burning like a candle and i have a triple burner lighter watched your vid first and dint have the computer air at the time but just Blew hard as I could and bingo worked perfect thank you
I have that exact blue lighter that is on the desk in this video! It's the reason I looked up how to fix the issue of no torch flame any more. I hope this works!!!
I just bought the same lighter as it was on sale. It started out working just fine on the minimum flame settings but after a week it's already starting to sputter and I'm having to slowly increase the flame to get it to light. If compressed air fixes the problem that's cool I guess... but I wouldn't expect the burner to get clogged with impurities after only lighting a handful of cigars, especially since I'm using Xikar's own brand of butane.
Was about to send back my 5yo triple burner for warranty but just for the sake of it followed the instructions in that short video and it fixed it (before had to press several time with power at max to get it working and ending up of having a candle flame).
You need to bleed it, that is, take the compressed air out. That is what is not letting the butane go in. Take one of the nozzles that come on the lid of the butane. Use this to press on the place where you would usually add the butane. You will hear air come out. So this until you cannot hear any more air coming out. THEN fill with butane and wait a minute or two. Your lighter should start.
Holy crud. Who woulda guessed it would be that simple. I was disassembling mine, using welding tip cleaners, etc. Took it out, blew it with air, works. Dang.
I actually had the grave misfortune to stupidly shell out dough for a Xikar torch lighter. Piece of shit hasn't worked in over a year, so I wound up switching back to my old faithful Zippo. Don't knock that choice, the Zippo actually freakin' works with absolutely no problems and has been working for over three years!
Just FYI, I tried this using a balloon pump (double-action) instead of the canned air and that also worked. There will be a few seconds of just air coming out after refilling so the burner won't light immediately after you've done this, but it will light once the gas comes through again.
I bought brand new xikar double turrim . Tried clipper gas. It acts weird. at max gas level it is like min level. It doesn’t light at half setting. I ordered premium gas to see if it is a gas issue. What do you think?
If you are using Xikar butane, it may be a simple adjustment- If it continues to be an issue, you can always send it in under lifetime warranty and we will take a look at it for you. xikar.com/warranty has the info you need.
I tried what was suggested in the video, but I don't think it helped with my lighter. I can definitely see a spark every time, but most of the time that's all that happens. Every once in a while a soft flame comes out, but almost every time I have to use a flame from another lighter just to get a soft flame. I have had this lighter for a few years, but haven't even used it in a couple years. I definitely don't think that it should be worn out by now. Please advise me what I can do now. Oh I'm using Zippo butane, by the way. I know it's not the best, but it's better than a lot that is available. Thank you.
Wait wait wait, I think I just fixed it! I didn't empty out the butane this time, but tried hitting it with the duster a couple more times, and tried it again. Right away I could tell there was a difference just from how it sounded, just the fuel pressure. The second time I tried it, there was a torch flame again!!! THANK YOU!!!
If it actually took in butane, you should be able to purge it by pressing in the valve. Sometimes you will see a large air bubble but not enough liquid butane made it in. Purge it and fill it again.
I have a brand new lighter, Turismo 558BL, so I'm assuming any issues aren't related to cleaning. The lighter doesn't work below 30 degrees - I'll click it and a small flame will appear quickly go out. At warmer temperatures, it works fine. Here in the North East having something that works at colder temperatures is important :-) Thoughts?
Possibly you overfilled it. Empty all the fuel purging completely, now when you fill torch this time turn your torch upside down and firmly press butane down into it (take care that you are making a good seal) count to 2 or 3 (like one one-thousand two one-thousand three one-thousand) no longer than that, and that's it, done.
When I try to fill my butane lighter, it only fills it about halfway. Why is this? I'm using a high-quality butane canister on a Vertigo lighter. Thanks. PS - I purged it first.
Your G16 altitude lighter is a real mission to use. Had three (2 replaced). Clean asa whistle, use premium butane but very unlikely to work a second time. Useless
The funny thing is that XIkar is no better or worse than ST Dupont fuel. Whenever I see a video of how to fill an ST Dupont with an adapter the comment section is embarrassing.
I have a Cohiba lighter that charges up with a USb cable and when I press the ignitor button its supposed to give out a spark and fire up the butane jet flame. but right now there is no spark coming in the chimney. need help
you are cleaning the outside surfaces. Purging is a safety move. Also, don't fill a lighter with a lit stick in your mouth. The momentary blue halo is pretty -but!

Mine started to have the soft flame/intermittent lighting problem after 10 years. Followed this video, and it's good as new! Thank you!
Worked like a charm! My lighter would only light once in a while and then wasnt able to light for 6 months. Did this trick and its back to new.
Ken, worked like a charm, saved it from being turfed into metal scrap. Thanhs, Bill, Surrey BC.

BRO!!!! THATS THE TRICK!!!! Blow into it like a son of a ***** and it worked!!!!
Just tried this trouble trouble shooting technique. My Xikar lighter has life again! Thanks!
Left it full. Blew on the burners. Used my boot lace to clean debris. It worked.
Thank you for this video . Very clear and informative. You gave my lighter life again ! 🙌🤙

what do you do when you're feeling it with butane but it does not want to go in, and you use different nozzles and it still won't go in

Was going to send it for warranty service and just did those simple steps in 5 minutes... boom like new !
You are just killing me…lol… 😜❤️ . Very informative.

Zippo is great however don't miss the lighter fluid.
GREAT VIDEO IT WORKED!
Thank you sir. I used a straw to clean inside the lighter and now it's fine
A straw ? Lmk how you did it if anything lol cs I don’t have that air thing on hand 🤦♀️🤣
My burner ignites fine on all settings. But burns for about 3 seconds and then fuel source starts to stutter causing the flame to cut out. Thoughts?

My jet lighter lights with the second press.is that normal?

Richie Schneider I had a feeling that’s what that was. These torch lighters are a trip
Can you make a vid on how to take it apart ? (igniter wont fire)
Thanks for the xikar, my lighter did not work and blowing into it with a compressor helped instanly.
i got mine green where the flame goes out and rusty any fixes ?
Just bought a brand new forte single jet torch and the flame is like a big candle flame out of the box. Any suggestions on how to fix?
You can reach out to customer service for a walk through. Visit Xikar.com for contact info.
After i filled mine it doesnt let any butane out even out of the bottom valve should try filling it again?
If it actually took in butane, you should be able to purge it by pressing in the valve. Sometimes you will see a large air bubble but not enough liquid butane made it in. Purge it and fill it again.
used a air compressor and it worked thanks

Holy shit same problem with my lighter, any succes yet?
Cold weather affects them. Even here in Winter (N. GA) I keep them inside until time to go out in my truck/car.
Why my scorch torch does not turn off completely after using it?
Possibly you overfilled it. Thanks a lot
I have the forte soft flame but it only does it on high!! Looks like it’s going to explode, on low it’s literally a single torch
Bro mine seems that it crack the gas tank from the inside, and this happened overnight
When I try to fill my butane lighter, it only fills it about halfway. Why is this? I'm using a high-quality butane canister on a Vertigo lighter. Thanks. PS - I purged it first.
Purge completely sounds like you have air pressure in the tank
That worked perfectly. I'm shocked. It wouldn't light at all! Thanks.
I heard that before you fill lighter, you should set flame to MIN. Is it true?
Xikar lighters suck
Every time you release and push the fluid, you insert air into the lighter fill chamber.
ALL I HAD TO DO WAS BLOW ON IT REAL HARD?! WTF! THANK YOU!!!!!
what if im getting a torch flame from a soft flame lighter?
Thank you. I tried everything and all I had to do was blow into it
I'll never purchase a Xikar lighter again. Not only did it quit, but it quit very quickly. I've tried and tried. never again.
Your G16 altitude lighter is a real mission to use. Had three (2 replaced). Clean asa whistle, use premium butane but very unlikely to work a second time.

very goo

why you gotta empty the lighter to blow some air on it lol

@@paulcronin5385 bro I have desperately been searching for an answer for the past 3 years. thank you I can finally rest.
I owned mine for a week...took 3, 4, 5 presses to get it to light. After a week it completely stopped working. High priced junk.
Please go to our site and send it in for warranty. It is rare that a new lighter does not work, but it does happen. We will happily take care of you.
I've had an issue with EVERY Xikar I've ever owned.
