What an ace run! The twisties, the scenery, and the great condition of the road surface. Them there panniers are awesome. OC - what got you into motorbikes? - difficult to come up with something you haven't already covered! Great vid again, cheers Andy. Oh, and cool dog.
Man it is such a nice place, I'm still daydreaming about it :) I also am in love with the panniers, not having a backpack is honestly amazing, especially since my work stuff weighs a good 8kg. Oh that's a good question! I'll answer it in a video :P I must pin that one :) Bo was a legend of a dog :)
Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze John Denver knew.
nah@@TheGorillaBiker I think you're pretty cool. if the stars align and i make it south next year I'm gonna drop a line and try to see you along the way!
Yes, these are proper roads, and best of all no traffic. A very different image of the USof A in this video. I understand how you feel sweeping through the curves. A very enjoyable video. Thank you. 👍
They are, some of the best surfaced roads I've ever ridden on in my life too! Yes indeed, WV is absolutely beautiful, sadly part of that beauty is how underpopulated it is due to a lack of jobs. Haha they made me an extremely happy Michael! Thank you!!
You do them very bloody well too! I have a few of your trips written on my to-do board, one day!! :) I do indeed, it's now lovely for the longer spins. You too! I think you'd love WV btw!
I just got home on Saturday from a 3 week trip from Michigan to the Pacific coast. I also avoid freeways and tolls. Went to WY, ID, Montana, WA, OR, CA, AZ, UT, CO. Did the Million Dollar Highway and other Motorcycle Bucket List rides. 7,000 plus miles. A great adventure and I wish you many more safe motorcycle adventures. As a side note, I am 76 and ride a BMW K 1600 B. I will be following you on your adventures. Good for the sole.
Now that is a trip I'd like to do! I just don't think motorcycles are 1/10th as enjoyable on interstates etc, too much traffic these days too. I'm glad you got to do that, I'd say it was a brilliant time. Oh fair play to you! I've always liked the K1600B! Thank you! :)
I knew you'd love West Virginia! My company is building there and the temptation to transfer there is strong. The Vee Strom looks great with the bags! Can't wait to see part 2!
You were right, bloody amazing spot for a spin. Ohhhhhh I would honestly probably move there, depending on my weather research :D I love them man, they've made life a lot easier!! It's out tomorrow :)
Cracking video as always. So envious of the beautiful roads and scenery you have over there. Can I just say as well I liked the relaxed vibe on this vid. You did it slightly different from your others. Liked the way you spoke for a bit, then the lovely crisply picked acoustic guitar played while you rode and you spoke a bit more. Just lovely relaxing vibe. Thank very much.
Thank you, and glad you think so :) Well sadly I don't have it too near my house, but within a days ride which is grand :) I usually try to make the travel videos like I felt on them, so this one was relaxed, not only am I glad it came across but I'm glad you liked it! :) Thank you for watching!
What a spin . Beautiful country. Just finished watching your hawk talon gorge vid. This is what bikes were made for. So continued success to you in US. And plenty more happy and safe travels to you. We still have the vee and copper coast for the handy spins into he winter for ourselves.😂
It really is and so much more to explore 😂😂 I could honestly plan out the next 10 years on trips. Yes. Exactly this type of roads and views. Just constant enjoyment. Thanks amigo :) Haha not a bad spot to be at all when it's not raining :)
Ah very nice!! There were a few roads in WV like that, Scotland and Wales I'd also highly recommend :) Ah anything European is off my list for now, if I ever move back to Ireland I'll spin over and give it a go :)
In parts it is extremely different, in other parts you'd swear you were in West Cork or Kerry. Weirdly enough many moons ago when Ireland was still smushed on to America the mountains in Kerry etc were apparently part of the same range. So it makes some form of sense.
Oh the lament of not being able to join on this (what's a few thousand miles across the continent, eh?) I have no outro crew questions for Hatter. Guess I need to think of some for when we do meet and you maybe put me on the spot :)
Next time we'll have to get you to fly over even and take one of my spares :P I do have to do all of the servicing to Stromboli now :'( Haha you will 1000% be asked a question :P Now I'll be expecting something amazing.
Yeah...if I'm going to keep hanging out with GB, I'm going to have to start writing down questions to keep handy. I ran out of ideas by the end of the weekend. 😆
My question would be- I see a different windscreen, and different mirrors? If so, how do they compare? My comment would be the Kriega 40L would be just big enough to fit all of your solo camping gear ( if your bag is down fill). I find having camping gear in a stand alone bag very handy to take to/from the camp site ( cutting down trips to/from bike).Great Video!
Yes, I mention it in a video somewhere that I went back to the stock windscreen as a control, and it was a vast improvement on the aftermarket one so I've just kept it. The mirrors are aprilia mirrors and it was a lot to do with looks, however they sit slightly wider so I also find them more functional. That's the plan with it now, I have a box for clothes, a box for camera gear etc and I'll use the Kriega for camping stuff, and also for doing trips on my other bikes. Thanks!

I may have sang that song a few times during the trip to myself 😂😂
I would ask the Gorilla Biker, "How did you get so cool?" You know you are. We all know you are. Such a great enormous man.
I really am not cool 😂😂 In fact I'm a bit of an auld loser but sure that's alright :)
If I ever live up to how some of you see me I'll be doing well 😂
@@TheGorillaBiker I love you just the way you are. You are cool.

Love this video. Beautiful views and roads.
I'm glad you do :) Plenty more of the views to come too :)
I am very sad I missed this trip but I am very, very glad you enjoyed it so much!
We will do another one! I'll be doing plenty of trips forever(unless America kicks me out at some point). Thanks amigo. I'll try get up your way asap!

great to see you out and really enjoying the bike and the ride. 🙂
It was well needed :) Also I sat out a full 200 miles on the way home without a break thanks to that tall seat!
Road trips are our favourite thing to do with a motorcycle. Looks like you've got the Suzuki nicely set up. Beautiful views, take care.

What a beautiful ride and the pics are dope too 🔥
Next time you'll have to come. I have many more photos to share.

Hope the cigars and whisky were as smooth as Hatter's question! 😀which was indeed the perfect question! 😀
Haha the whiskey was honestly one of the best I've had! :) I'm still annoyed he cheated :P
😀@@TheGorillaBiker
Did a roadtrip (my first) to the Austrian Alps last week. So many hairpins, I completely lost track when counting. Highly recommend it!

Those look like the kinds of roads we all wish we could ride on!
Yes indeed, we just need to move the mountains to somewhere with less winter and jobs I can do aaaaaand I need a greencard.....see. Easy peasy :D

I'm also very jealous of Hatter. I wish I could ride with you and drink whiskey. You can keep the cigars.
One day we will!!! I will not be giving up on that any day soon :) I do like the very occasional cigar :P
More cigars for us. 🙂
Hope you can make it out the next time!
@@hatter_jbk bit of a long ride from Australia 😉
@@hachewie, fair enough. If you get the chance, though, fly over and rent a bike or borrow one if GB or I have a spare available.
@@hatter_jbk I'll talk to the minister of finance. Don't like my chances.
Question for GB "If you were a dessert, what dessert would you be?" the response "ask Toaster" would be acceptable! good one and have a great night!
Glad you enjoyed the video! However if you were to ask her that she'd probably vomit on you 😂
I will never wear a backpack unless it is an emergency. Luggage rules.
Luggage is king. Id forgotten how nice it is tbh 😂
