  • Tutorial for beginners to make custom PCB shapes.
Visit jlcpcb.com to get professional PCBs for low prices.
In this tutorial I show how is simple to make a custom shape and turn it into an actual PCB. You are not limited to simple rectangles and squares... you can make any shape for a robot project, electronics or artistic projects.
Here you can download all the files used in this project (SVG file, Fritzing project, Gerber files and Arduino code): bit.ly/2lUUEe7

Great tutoria. Can I ask you how did you put the "BRAIN" into the bottom silkscreen in Fritzing? I can't find the option to pass it in the bottoma face.

This is great! Good introductory video into making PCBs. Is this compatible with any smaller arduino boards?

      Thank you very much!
The pin headers and its spacing will work only for Uno or Mega boards. For smaller boards (like Nano or Mini) jumper wires can be used.

Hi, Great video. I just created a pcb and I have followed everything you have mentioned carefully. Created gerber file with fritzing and when I go for Quote now at jlcpcb link you provided it does not recognise the dimensions automatically of the pcb (I have to manually enter it) and then no gerber view is shown. The size of the pcb is 386 mm x 132 mm. Am I doing something wrong here? Please help. Thanks

Hi! Thank you very much for your comment!
If you have followed all the steps, it may be just an error on the Gerber viewer of the site (it happened with me a few times with complex shapes). But you can submit your order and select "Review Before Payment", and you can pay after your file review is approved.
Additionally, I use this online Gerber viewer, which works really well: www.pcbgogo.com/GerberViewer.html
