- Axl doesn't sound too great on this particular performance, wheezing his way through the song. In my personal opinion, this is the best work of Slash on this song (and any CD song in general). He puts actual effort in making the solo sound even remotely close to the original instead of mindless noodling which can be witnessed on every performance of This I Love, Catcher In The Rye, Sorry and The Blues for example.
Audio Quality: A-/B+
This is an audience recording, so the band sounds a bit drowned and distant. It’s still listenable though.

Also, there are some 2012 live performances existing on TH-cam. Dublin is one of the strongest performances of all time(up there with Hammerstein 2006, Madrid 2006 and probably Mexico City 2016), but the Las Vegas ones are way below average

He sounded decent-ish a few days ago at Presley’s funeral. In my opinion he doesn’t care much about actually trying for the fans.

@@DrumsNRoses I would say that based on his last performance, he’s got much more left than what he gives on tour. Because NR has sounded abysmal since 2017 to be honest. Reckless Life from Prague and The Blues from Warsaw were also some rare good performances

He sounded literally the same through 2017 and onwards. His last passable year was 2016
@@jeffisbell5999 that sucks. I saw him in 2021 but the the audio was so horrible at the venue that I was hard to tell. He sounded awesome in 2016.
@@jonathanwpressman I saw them in 2018. Even then he was pretty rough, but half-decent compared to 2019-2022. It's not about his extra pounds/kilograms anymore, as he's lost weight in 2022, but still sounds horrendous.

Slane 2017 is probably the worst ever rendition. A disaster at best(Axl wheezing like Dustin Bones and Slash messing up so horribly that the solos have barely any connection at all with the original Finck/BH ones. In Chicago, Axl sounded slightly better and Slash did a good solo(not common on CD songs).
@@jeffisbell5999 This is probably my favorite GnR song. I've listened to the album version a million times. So listening to Axl make these hilariously awful sounding sounds just made me die. He sounds so out of breath and confused. 🤣🤣😂🤣😂

@@marinadiamondz anno 2023 it's really not difficult to love GN'R for their musical work on the one hand and hate them for their unbelievable laziness at the same time. luckily i didn't know in 2016-18 what this reunion was going to lead to, because it's a shame and a shame for the band that they are still touring the world with the same show at higher and higher prices without finally doing a new one Album with completely new songs! there was so much potential in this thing and the band was so on fire in 2016-18 and what did they make of it? So yes, you can love the band for the songs and the many memories, but at the same time you can hate them for their brazen, avoidable laziness. I sold my ticket for Munich 2022 because I no longer want to support it. at all, so many years of reunion and the first thing they released was a song that wasn't even good enough for the last album? absurd was the absolute middle finger to anyone who really believed in a big plan behind all this. in truth they are stinking lazy pigs. I love the hits, as well as thousands of live videos, etc., but personally this group can pretty much kiss my ass in 2023
It sounds like a realy bad garage band trying to play one of the most underated songs ever. I have listened to this song maybe a hundred times and a 2017 Axl and Slash just don't come anywhere to the original. This Axl reunion with some of the past members(Slash was not an original member, Tracy Guns was) was done strictly for money. And it was a bad idea.
Instrumentally it’s probably the best NITL version, but yes, vocally it ain’t that great. Axl has gotten so bad that those vocals sound decent compared to what he sounds now. I refuse to call the current lineup a reunion, since Izzy and Steven aren’t part of the gang. I do even think an Axl/Izzy reunion would have been more fun and creative, as Slash is what brings them dough without any creative effort. I saw them in 2018 and the setlist was barely different compared to now.
@@jeffisbell5999 honestly the reunion should have been a one off thing just like what led zeppelin did and call it a day tbh....I much prefer the 2009 - 2014 lineup given how creative, talented and enthusiastic the lineup was...imo the reunion is more for a public image than for musical wise juding how slash now practically butchers every solo he plays including his own,lol
@@_En1664 2009-2014 lineup didn’t release any new songs, but it wasn’t too stale either compared to 2016-2022 lineup. 1985-1991 and 2001-2007 were probably the better eras for both old and new band

and play a setlist full of songs slash recorded and co wrote with the band.. bloody good idea 😂

November Rain from Lisa Marie Presley’s funeral wasn’t the greatest due to Axl almost crying, but when he got his shit together, he actually did quite well compared to how shit he is live now. If he only gave more to the fans
Axl did a lot of voice surgery in last 30 years. He changenthe way of singing,he use his clean voice to save and protecte. Its not Micky voice as tou think.
Axl is profesional singer,he knows what to do with his voice.
