Big fan of ND basketball and Coach Shrewsbury. He always talks with fans after a game for an hour or so. Great guy. Well deserved start!

We never asked Mike Brey to sign Jalen Haralson type kids, or to have the #1 ranked recruiting class every year. We just wanted the guy to do more than the bare minimum in recruiting. Like actually trying to recruit the state of Indiana outside of the kids a mile from South Bend. Now we have a coach who is doing that and more.

Had #1 class in football early in process too look at them now might finish in top 10 which is excellent but won't be #1 by the end
Totally different analysis, though. College football is a much higher-number scholarship proposition. When ND runs out to a top football class with many more verbals than most teams, it is a no-brainer that it won't hold. BB is much different. Four guys can legit be an entire class. The ND BB team won't end up #1 when the dust settles, but this class ... even if there are no additions ... will be one of the best classes in the country and one of the best classes in ND history. For perspective, ND's BB recruiting point total at 247 right now (64.31) would have ranked #8 nationally at the end of BB recruiting last season -- one spot ahead of North Carolina. And ND might well still add on to this class. For ND, that is ENORMOUS.
