Best version of this great song I've heard. I woke up this morning with a hankering to hear this tune again. It's been half a lifetime since I listened to it. Sublime.
Gary I'm very glad it was hear/here for you. Incredible how so many of the great ones of our lifetime remain relevant and timeless. Thank you for your response very much🎼💞

One of the lushest songs ever written, sung by one of the greatest voices in music. I love this version, though I love them all. Great video as well. Thank you.
I appreciate very much you kind compliment...it means alot to me when someone else truly appreciates a moment of wonder..and, a great classic like this...makes the time very worthwhile..It truly is a small world when it comes to the great connection of our hearts through moments like this..Merry Christmas
The Magic of 'Woodstock' still continues . I'm a Slave 2 the mesmerising Guitar Sounds of Stepehen Stills , silky voice of David Crosby and the pleasant piano skills of Graham Nash !
This song features Crosby on guitar Because when it was initially recorded, stills was in jail on a cocaine charge. My favorite version is from the live album "Crosby-Nash live"
What a wonderful comment and why I enjoy this srt form so much...I was so happy to find this version of this song...very happy and, isn't it amazing that I can share a sunset and this major musical moment with you..It truly is a small world when it comes to the great connection of our hearts through the great classics of our times...thanks for taking time to comment..;-)

Thanks for getting me to listen again this morning...I feel exactly the same way you do about CSN....what joy they have brought us through the years...thanks so much for your feedback and appreciation..that is why I love doing this...giving honour to the great classics of our time..for future generations.
Hi Sherrylynn... One of those superb videos of yours that help me visualize the life I want to create for myself. Great version of the song, and incredible images. Thanks :-)
This is one of my favorites by C,S,& N. The very first time I have ever heard this particular version, WOW! I can't tell you how many times I have listened to it. Maybe once more......... Thank you, so very much.
Beau Campbell Ditto. althought C S & N have a fine catalog. Saw them about a year ago. Was worth every penny. This is a masterpiece. I add my thanks to yours.
I like this version also for a more private setting. Can hear all the words clearly but I already know the words. Love the 4 Way Street Album version also. Started listening to them when I was 10. Thankfully I had a sister that was 7 years older.
I was 16, visiting my Sister in Boston (From Jersey). Our cousin was there too. We were driving downtown, April 1971 Easter Weekend, and a Record Store was hawking '4 Way Street' on the sidewalk , the day it was released. We bought it, curbside... Immediately after, I found some 'seeds' on the backseat of her car...This was 'news' to me... We went back to her apartment, discussed these 'seeds' and their origin ; ) and got busy ...and put the Album on... what a blast. Love these guys
This is a beautiful tune- so much different than the 4 Way St version which has amazing harmonies with just Crosby and Nash, an acoustic guitar-tuned standard. This guitar work from Stills here is as good as any electric I have ever heard him play,
David is so Beautiful, this song is Eternal, and You sherrylynn, are an ANGEL for putting this all together, LOVE all of the Above and the air we breathe and the water we drink, Our Mother Earth... please trade it for electric, your car that is...!!!!
what a wonderful comment..thank you very much..with the glory of a sunset along the shore and this great song...I had alot of help..and, very glad someone appreciates..;-) where is your channel??
This is wonderful. Loved this song from when I first heard it on 4ws.... So lovely to discover you other great people who enjoy it equally... A moment of reality in our 'immediate business' lives... Congrats sherrylynn, lovely video, lovely version of the song... A moment of wonder xx
For me it's the best part of my journey of discovery into my teens, having just returned home from my 1st Summer camp experience at 13, only to find a stranger working in our yard, someone my father was helping to earn money to get his car repaired to drive home to Tennessee where his newly pregnant wife awaited him. He had just gotten out of the Armed Forces but could sing and play piano incredibly well & sold me his 8-tracks & car player. 4-way street was among them, a cool reminder of youth.
That is about the sweetest most encouraging thing to hear...my camera is bwoken ;-( but, your comment sure gets me going....miss you many times too...I will neVer forget my dream homes in Michigan...and, the sunflowers..and, every little detail...you are ever near the heart...no doubt mmmmmmmm
major props sherrlynn this is the most epic version of the song a lot of people don't know about with the original vocals and extended instrumental passages...... i can't believe he didn't release this version instead....the best version by far... this is NOT on the box set.... Awesome visuals by the way
Did not have a sailboat, but I had a Chesapeake Bay Dead Rise and road the Chesapeake Bay night and day for fun. Crosby had a silky voice.. C S N greatest!
One of my favourite Crosby songs - it's haunted me since I first heard it in the early 70's. Prefer the more reflective acoustic version(s), and recommend 'David Crosby Graham Nash bbc' - a beautifully recorded concert available in 5 parts on youtube. Thank you, anyway.
And let's not forget David Crosby's if I can only remember my name project absolutely stunning! I think he had everybody in San Francisco Bay area with him! Jerry Garcia Joni Mitchell on and on! That will never happen again!
You can found this version in the 1991 "CSN Box set"...I have seen in internet and that version abitualy during 5'28"... it's cut at the first solo... and the versions that we can found by internet are not right: they are of acustic album...
It's like ultra C,S&N-this track as wonderful as it is it's hard to download the fact that Neil doesn't appear on it, but it's my favorite version absolutely, especially the ending poetic formula , that seems to ascertain all the vibes folks have concerning this great house of Jacob, WICH SEEMS TO HAVE A HUNGER UNEDNDED SO FAR-"SUNSET SMELLS OF DINNER~~^^^
Neil Young is on this track. He's in the background playing acoustic guitar and adding harmonica. I'm guessing this is from the same session as the version that's on the CSN boxed set from 1991, during which you hear Neil talking to David in the studio before the song starts.
by the way.... to the guy who was asking.... the only place I ever saw this version was on a bootleg titled 1969 demos or something along those lines.......
This isn't the cut from 4-Way Street. And where's Nash's harmony? Crosby's singing this solo. They do a very acoustic version (one guitar, I believe) on the Street album. Great version, but not the same without Nash.
Very beautiful video you put togheter man. This song sounds even better live. Try searching "CSN The Lee Shore" here on youtube or ""The lee shore" - Crosby & Nash (live) " Cheers to you people that like this old and very beautiful song.
Lee Shore given the Wooden Ships treatment. The 4 Way Street version & BBC Concert version with just Crosby & Nash was my favourite. Crosby & Nash released an electric band live version in 1975 very similar to this but without the Stephen Stills lead guitar solo energy. Of the voyage from USA & Venezuela these days would be littered with pirates, narco-traffickers & naval militias and any romantic notions would quickly be dissipated.
This version is not from the CSN Box Set, I know that since I own it and listen to it regularly. I've never heard this version before and it's really brilliant. I can't seem to find it on any album released so my guess is that it is from an unreleased bootleg.
This is definitely NOT the same version of The Lee Shore that is on my 4-way Street LP & CD. Is it a bonus track on a special edition CD of 4-way Street or possibly from a different album? I like the mellower live version from 4-Way Street best, possibly because that's the 1st version I heard and became accustomed to, but this version is sweet! Truly the best of the rest.
it's strange, I've never heard Stone Temple Pilots or Scott Weiland melodies sound like anything recognizable, except this song sounds like it heavily inspired them
Crosby...great singer...bumped into him in The Liverpool Hilton Hotel...doing tour with Nash about 2012....was a concierge and the man was a person struggling with life and being in a moment in time needing help from his aide...Nash out and about and enjoying things...went the concert at the Royal Philharmonic Hall..Liverpool...good concert but Crosby ..miserable old overcoat...
I keep wondering how this great song did not end up on Deja Vu in 1969. Was the song ready in time? Personal politics? Easily would have been the best song on the album.
@@professormacdeezy Thank you. I can't seem to find it anywhere. They just released the 50th Anniversary of "Deja Vu" as a 4 cd release today and put a Demo version of this song on it (6 minutes) but did not include this version. Why? It's simply the best version.. Stephen's solo at the end is perfect!!
@@professormacdeezy I did of your version a few years back. Be nice to have an official version out there for everyone. You are going to go thru all of those extra tracks and not include the best one. Makes no sense and it's $85 the cheapest, have to buy the LP to get the entire set. All that and you still don't get this amazing version. It's kind of like the killer extended "Mr. Bluebird" version by Buffalo Springfield from a double LP compilation and never released on cd. It's wonderful! Here it is: th-cam.com/video/55q2rRh5UUU/w-d-xo.html
In my previous message, sometimes ago, I forgot to thank you, sherrylynn 70 for posting this version of the song. So this is done. It seems to me that your definition of lee shore and wheather shore is wrong. To me, the lee shore is the side of an island protected from the wind (and waves) by the island itself and the weather shore is the side not protected where the wind and waves come from the open sea and push your boat or ship to the shore. The lee shore is the more comfortable and safer place to be, particularly with the tradewinds in the West Indies.
