Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I've only lived here for about 5 years now. In that time there has been some tiny changes. Seems we get proposed rendering after rendering from developers but don't really see them get out of that stage. Hopefully some of them get built and completed. The downtown area has so much potential, we just need the right people in office to approve it! Another thing that fascinated me was that everyone complains that we don't have new things, then when they ask us if we want some of our taxes to go to IMPROVING our city and making it a more desireable place to live, the people say no we aint paying 🤦🏼♂
Yes we really need to improve downtown it is definitely trending in the right direction . The money for taxes is small in my opinion compared to what that money can be used for to make jacksonville a better place with more amenities and entertainment for all people ….. I believe the city leaders will push for the growth and majority of people will get behind them. Transparency is key.
I totally agree with your wife. Growing up I use to go to J'ville to the flee market etc with my family and it always felt like a huge country hood. I never liked it at all!!! I'm from Savannah and it felt the same way 20 yrs ago. I just recently moved back to Savannah not by choice but of marriage and I can say Savannah is so different. It's more diverse and have the same things your wife mentioned about that J'ville needed. The past 20 plus years I lived in Atlanta and Orlando and we're looking into starting a new life maybe in the outside J'ville area because it's not too far from Atl where my kids/ grandbaby is or Sav where my elderly mother is. I definitely need EVERYTHING in a city that she was mentioning. Hope J'ville will get it together soon.
What a pleasant surprise to meet your wife, Biyama 🌼 Thank you both for your honest feedback. I truly appreciate your input👍🏾 Maybe you can do a two or three part series on the different types of grocery stores and are there healthier options like Trader Joe’s and WholeFoods. I’ve read about Kroger’s and have no iota on how fresh and healthy their foods are. I would like to know if there’s a few public tennis and basketball courts in the city. Also indoor recreation like swimming, indoor courts… I’ve seen a few good medical facilities in Jacksonville but that are the physicians accepting new patients? Nationwide, I the wait list is getting longer to be seen by a primary care physician. I would like your feedback on the evangelical churches in Jacksonville that are biblically sound. I did browse the internet and quickly became overwhelmed and not all are follow the Bible’s teachings. As for the bipolar weather, it’s the same in every state 🤪! Is there a shortage of multi level above ground apartment homes with balconies for those of us who do not want a yard and care for too many trees due to seasonal allergies and phobias of reptiles? It sounds like Tampa might have more high rise condo apartments homes?
Hi there Anne!! Thanks so much for your support. I agree we need to do a part 2 & 3 you mentioned a lot of great points. I need to do some more research on this and circle back with the answers asap. :)
Great video. I agree with Mrs. on the backwoodedness and absent downtown of Jacksonville, but disagree on the culture options. Most times, lack of culture and things to do presents the desire to be creative. Think about it, what is a famous musical group, athlete or artist that started in Tampa other than Wade Boggs, Dwight Gooden, his nephew and other baseball players , but many variety from Jacksonville, like Lynard Skynard, 38 Special, 69 boyz, 95 South, Glenn Jones, Limp Biscuit, James Weldon Johnson and many more.
Rent is really 1800-2300 for a really nice 3/2 bath. The economy and Job market is solid….. plenty of opportunities in Florida. Please contact me anytime for more details 904-860-4799. Thanks for watching and let me know how I can help.
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Cox!
Your very welcome!!
