Whew,,,,, very technical stuff right there. Needless to say, way, way, over my head. Mr. Gary, you are indeed the master. I would even go so far as to say, I seriously doubt that there are even very many professional shops that could do that kind of work.
Was just heading out to my shop to work on my 77 trouble head 1000 , had to take time out to watch your latest work of art . And yes it was !!! Cheers . Guy Speight

I had to get my Boston to English dictionary out: "Pissa or Pissah: Awesome. Sometimes combined with "wicked" to get "wicked pissah!" Bostonians are divided on whether people actually say "pissah," according to Boston.com. It's often said in jest or sarcastically."
Again a very informative video.. I was definitely wondering how you were going to fill in the area that you ground out of the case... making that half moon shape to fill in was cool to see. Very impressive work.
I've watched several of your videos where the cases were previously welded and/or you have to go in and do additional welding. Is this something specific to Harleys or do other bikes have similar problems? Anyway, I'm glad the owner decided to fund the additional repairs.
In may cases, (cases? pun intended) the cases I work on have been used and abused for 50 or 60 years. Any engine that old can see the same type of damage. The reason you don't see them is because the import bikes have ended up in the junk yard. Parts are simply not available. Manufacturers don't support anything out of production for more than a few years and neither does the after market. We, in the Harley business, are fortunate that a strong after market makes the parts to keep these relics running.
Good day. I’m sure you’ve tried everything over the years. I’m curious to ask if you have ever soaked these aluminum sponge cases overnight in white vinegar? A welder once told me he would pickle aluminum parts. Thanks Smitty
It is always a pleasure to watch a professional tradesman. Well done, Sir.
Thank You!

I am aware of 2 or maybe 3 other shops that could probably do this work. And one of them is not really accepting new work.

Question, what cup and tungsten do you use in your tig rig? Also do you add helium to your gas? Thank you.
Nbr 5 cup, 3/32" for most weld, 1/8" on the heavier sections.
