The previous sole was most likely not from a previous repair but from a cobbler putting a sole on there when they were first purchased. The tan leather you see is very soft and not meant to be walked on as it would cause damage to the shoe. Walking on this tan leather can alter the way the shoes were crafted. Shoes like these are meant to be taken well care of and you must know how to tend to them when you buy them. These shoes are most likely over 10 years old and haven’t been worked on since then so they probably didn’t have a tan colored sole to match.
Looks amazing! I personally like the gray color better but the restoration was impeccable!

This person has the patience of a saint! Wonder if their skills were handed down by a family member? Would love to see them restore well-loved high end items from the 30’s-50’s that you run across in estate sales or vintage shops. Wonder if you could get purple leather soles for heels?

I think the owner probably wanted to wear them more and had more clothes that would fit a black shoe than a grey one. I liked the grey color too, but I know I wear my black heels more often than the ones I have that are different colors.

Amazing! That cleanser looks a bit miraculous, to be honest, haha. Is that something we can do at home for shoe maintenance? I tend to only brush them vigorously and use a clear cream, but I always think it's not exactly cleaning. 😅😅

Точно! Было так красиво, а стало банально((.
Кроме того, на черном не так видны особенности фактуры. Думаю прикол в том, что при прокрашивании кисточкой трудно добиться равномерности окраса.
Такой неряхе, что убила туфли какой цвет не делай - на пару раз и туфлям снова конец.
Хорошая работа, смотрю многие работы клеете на дисмакол, набойки vebram не скалываются? Мне кажется радной цвет был оригинален, его нужно было освежить и добавить блеска👍
Точно так. Что было сделано бредом,, то и надо было воссоздать.. Освежить. Сейчас,, не то не сё.

Sanding down the new sole’s edge of where it meets the old sole would look a lot nicer. I think the new one leaves too big of an open gap and can easily be seen and felt while wearing.
Best not to. Normal wear will sand that in a heartbeat.
I'm not sure why others liked the gray it looked liked she walked in a pile of ashes. What a Beautiful transformation this was.
Personally, I liked the gray because I can see the texture better. And I just like gray haha

I love those shoes. What a shame I can’t wear high heels anymore. I curse the day I fractured almost all the little bones in the sole of my right foot. Guess that’s what happens when a horse is frightened and lands on your foot with all its weight.
I have these exact shoes, and thankfully my grey color just got saturated and never faded. Wonder what the owner did to make them so pale to begin with. Comfy shoes to walk in all day.

OK. I know that the client is not me but black is not the right color for those shoes. Maybe blue or purple to wardrobe renovation. Wanting to do a basic shoe from such a unique piece was a failure.

I have a pair of Mules, they are white/cream, the cloth is something like charol snakeskin. The problem is that the top layer is falling apart Like snakeskin 😭

Можно было просто профилактику поменять и накаблучник. Цвет был классный, выглядели нормально. Вроде старался, но стало хуже. Разве что заказчик хотел изменить цвет, но всё-таки оригинал был в разы красивей.
Эта фактура никак не дружит с эти глянцевым черным. Исчезла мягкость, бархатистость. Надо было без глянца.
