When I was a kid, I always watched my dad painstakingly cleaning our shoes in the boiler room. Everybody in the family was making fun of him about his pedantry, but he was right! Now, decades later, my girlfriend is making fun of me everytime I am cleaning her and my shoes, even if we only had been for a small walk. My father passed away last year. When I am cleaning shoes, I can still feel my father looking over my shoulder. Dad, I miss You!
My grandmother always said that, if nothing else, you should always spend your money on a good quality bed and a good quality pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one, you are in the other!
So nostalgic! when i was little, i used to go to the Shoe repair shop with my beloved grandpa...he would explain to me what the man was doing while waiting...he is no longer here, but i felt his presence while watching your videos. Ty! :,)
The beauty and durability of fine leather. I can almost hear that shoe breathing back to life. You, sir are an artist and a craftsman. Your attention to detail and obvious commitment to what you do is AMAZING. Thank you.
Every time I get home I remove my shoes wipe them off with either wax or buff shine with Vaseline. My winter boots look new but they are over 5 years old. Ppl say they love my boots, shoes. Take care of your shoes. They support your spine. Great vid
When my husband and I first were married he would sell windows and screens door to door. I would scrub and polish his sneakers until my fingers bled and the same with his jeans. We did not have much to start with, but I never forgot my Grandmother's words you may not be well dressed, but you can be well pressed. I made sure he was pressed and shiny when he went out that door and together we worked so hard day and night and finally ended up with 37 acres and a 5,000 square foot home. Just a couple of kids, lol. Shine your shoes!
VeTiVeR I have a quick question that has been on my mind for the longest. When you use that Water + White Leather Dye? Does the shoe paint turn yellow with time or does it stay on as original paint like the manufacturer company?
I have 5 pairs and after covid my income has changed so I will have to find this guy. I have 2 pairs that the soles are running down due to the fact that I no longer drive.

These shoes are from the 80s, that's how they got this bad. Not everyone is a professional leather restorer and most people don't clean their shoes after every use.
it's insane that somebody would mistreat such expensive shoes for them to look like this but i guess there is always amazing people like you who can fix them right up
The work that you do is good. A few years ago one of my red suede high top dunks tore while playing basketball, every local shoe repair shop said that it couldn't be repaired. The tear happened between the toe box and sole. That pair are some of the best shoes ever. You probably could have fixed the tear.
This is so restful and relaxing to watch. I love restoring things anything I don't care what it is. I believe I could spend the rest of my life and I think I have about 25 good years left restoring quality items especially leather and upholstering leather furniture. This is priceless it's an art oh, how do I get into this line all of work
i dont even know whats so nostalgic about these i guess thats the amazingness of the human brain creating memories where they dont exist i can imagine that the owner of these shoes is a middle aged man who lives a mid class life, they saved money to buy Ferragamo shoes years ago and wore them happily, i think the've had amazing summers in these idk
Absolutely agree with you. You can tell the economic class this "wearer" is from. As the elite owner of such a pair would not wear these to such a hideous condition. They would be able to afford new ones, infact have various shoes to wear, so that none get too worn . It's said that majority of people seeking status, don't realize that when buying luxury shoes, they also have to buy the lifestyle with it, that's meant for these shoes.
@@sibr4111 i think our comments have slight different tones. I didn't mean to bring down the wearer's economic status, on the contrary, i absolutely love that they bought these shoes even though it required them to spend their savings. I think over-consuming is absolute trash and i respect the owner for taking good care of their purchase, they wore the shoes as shoes, not as a flashy accessory. Things are meant for whoever is ready to pay the price and not by how much money one has in their account.
@@lillionaire Well stating a fact doesn't mean bringing one's economic status down. I see now that we are on different pages. These are luxury moccasins and not meant to be worn as shoes for everyday on-foot activities. These are very worn out, seems to me that the owner didn't have much option besides this pair. I find it absurd to buy designer shoes and wear them to the ground. There's a certain lifestyle that's supposed to be purchased with these shoes.
@@sibr4111 If you mean driving shoes well yes, they are designed especially for 😆 taking long drives in the Jaguar on roads requiring incessant shifting and switching from brake to gas pedal 😆 not walkiing around. But why not, driving shoes are moccasins with great traction! The sole lugs are soft so foot doesn't slip off pedals (& up the heel so it doesn't skid on the floor) and quickly worn down but a delight to wear.
It’s worth to buy good quality shoes, and some people have to wear or use them to the fullest. I owned one ferragamo gancini and i love it, i always wipe and leave it for a while outside (air it) and returned it in the shoe box. Yes wearing comfortable shoes is healthy specially if your work is mainly consist of walking and standing long period . Thanks .
