Well done Jenny. Relevant contents as always. I'd love a part four of this. 📍To international nurses seeking to become USRNs, please do not choose NY, California ,etc as your BON. I realized a lot make this mistake because of the popularity of these states. These are the states recommended for foreign educated nurses: New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Illinois and Arizona. This is because these are the states which do not require SSN. I'd STRONGLY advise everybody to go for New Mexico because they are super straight forward. If you go for the other states you will pass the NCLEX but you cannot get your license because you do not have SSN which can only be given once you arrive in the US. Also the fact that you're registering with New Mexico doesn't mean you'd work there. You can get jobs in your preferred states and then transfer your license there which is super easy to do and you wouldn't write any exam. In fact, your employer will facilitate this for you. Lastly, to all specialized nurses(midwives, mental health ,etc.) and UK trained nurses please use ERES for your credential evaluation instead of CGFNS. ERES will give you an evaluation that will permit you to write NCLEX. PS: Do in depth research and act on this information. I wish Jenny could pin this comment so people can see this and not make mistakes 🙃. All the best everyone!

Montana is one of the easiest states to register with their BON.

Hey, I have two questions:
1. Did you start CGFNS process before you wrote NCLEX to save time? I heard CGFNS is a long process so I was thinking since my wife's NCLEX exam is in Feb 2023, I should start prepping things for CGFNS in the background now.
2. Since we are Canadian citizen, I was also thinking what if she goes to USA on TN Visa and then start doing sponsorship process in the background to save time? Have you heard of this before?

Please the google spreadsheet pay is in cities not states which makes it challenging for someone who does not know the city he/she will be or live
When you get offers in a given state, ask the employers the city or better still check online for the city to have a guide

@@glory7886 yes, also before the interview, they will send you the details of the facility. That’s an opportunity to check where it is located

How long does the whole process roughly take?
Quick question:
My wife recently received NCLEX elegibility from NY Board. I am just trying to be pro-active and ready after she passes NCLEX. We might end up in Texas. Endorsment to Texas board appears straight forward. My question is does Texas require IELTS/TOEFL and would she require credential evaluation for sponsorship/green card application? Because 8 states don't require CGFNS, NY is one of them, but where I am confused is what happens when she endorse liencnse to texas. Would they require CGFNS when an employer sponsor us for PR card?

Hello @Jenilymicha... Can a nurse in the US be allowed to work only day shifts, simply because she does not like disrupting her night sleep pattern?
You are allowed to choose your preferred shift.
