There is one interesting story told by my greatgrandfather.
It seems if she sings in an open court/concert it will be raining.
In one occasion, for a temple kumbabhisheka she was invited to perform a katchery, but the yagnashala priest members was against the idea. Bcs until the yagashala for kumbabhisheka being disassembled it is not a good sign rain pouring seeps through into the yagashala. But the temple dharmakartha/chettiyaars insisted that she will be singing and there is no compromise about it. Hence she came, she sang and it rained.
( I can't remember exactly which temple a my ggf mentioned bit fuzzy now, but for sure it must be: Chidambaram or Tiruvarur or Tiruvannamalai)
Buddy a small correction... Sundhrambal madem was born on Karur... at a place called valayalkara theru(near karur mariamman temple).... People around the place knows her from child.... and there still stands the house she was born(but completly ruined).... you can check the information i provide with the local residents....who are very old.... she had the habit of coming to Karur Mariamman temple every year on the time of Mariamman thiruvizha....
