How Claymation Movies Are Made | Movies Insider
I swear claymation animators have the greatest patience
And animation in general
True
555 likes, oh. I ruined it
You forgot about the bored people who do Lego animation
Yeah.
Props to them the amount of time and effort put into this type of work.
kingtoyab69 ikr! Just looking at them doing it makes me tired
And people don't appreciate it!
Here some props 📙📘📗📕🧸🎎⛏🔧🔨🗡💡💰💷🍩🥮🥧🧁🍰🎂🍫
Nothing is more satisfying than a team of talented people doing what they love
Ye
Imagine the hours used in building that entire movie.
It took a year an 2 weeks
@@magmastutorials7829 that seems short to the sheer amount of effort it would take to made it.
@@magmastutorials7829 I thought this would take something like 2 or 3 years at the least... The people in claymation are on another level damn
@@matthewallen2273 this is there biggest project. The first film they did is 20 minutes long and took 6 years. The production on the new ones is just huge
@@quartermaster2809 maybe they have more animators
Stop motion animation takes a tremendous amount of time and skill, but when done correctly is magical.
Claymation is great
Shaun the sheep
Wallace and gromit
My childhood
Shandy Leng Amazing profile picture btw
yes mania
Shandy Leng. I love your profile picture
Shandy Leng mania ayyyyyyy
And chicken run too
Those movies needs more attention tho. They're classic
Yeah but, they're not too appealing to movie studios because it's so expensive since you need far more resources to actually make a single movie than regular animation
wow. hands down to all of these people doing claymation.
lirasphere DIOR WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE
“Hands down” 😂
😲🤩😂😂👍🏼
NRX WOOPIIEE
imagine if your halfway through a filming that took 34 hours and an earthquake suddenly knock everything over
I’d kms
oof
An interesting fact is that actually happened during the production of Ave Maria in Fantasia. It’s the longest single shot in animation and they had to reshoot the whole thing. They ended up finishing it 4 hours before the world premier. All hand animation is just amazing to me.
This is why I rather do animations on paper or in digital
Shawn the sheep was filmed THIS WAY???
Yeass
Yeah
Every claymation film done by aardvark productions was filmed this way. The very first was Wallace and Gromit
Yep! ^u^ cool, huh? makes me love it even more to know they put this much effort into a little kids cartoon about a sheep
Yes 😊
0:54-0:56 how the person cuts the beards matches the song beat
I thought you said bread
Hahahaha
😂😂😂😂
I'm sure the editors had fun syncing that up in a way few would notice. lol
I always wonder how can people make animation from clay. But I'm too lazy for searching about it. Suddenly this video appear on recommended video. Thanks youtube you know what I want 😂
sameeee
HIGH FIVEEE
Yeahh
Ima Rosyi thanks to the FBI guy
Wow same with me
_Damn so much of efforts go into these 👏💕 I remember watching Shaun the Sheep !!_
Megan • ohhh... hi fellow army.
Creamy Taehyung ayye 💕
army
Shaun the sheep! Yay!
*I see you everywhere and I love it*
As an animation student, this is really amazing... just imagine all the efforts and the costs of production put into claymation... but my all-time favorite is CHICKEN RUN... 😊😊
ryaj valdez same here
My favourite stop-motion is The Nightmare Before Christmas!
JayR's CORNER same!
Believe it or not, the cost of claymation is far cheaper than other forms of animation. All you really need is a ton of plasticine, a good camera and most importantly PATIENCE.
Chicken Run is one of my favorite movies of all time. Not because it was animated in claymation, but because of that powerful message that hit me so hard! xD It's so relatable! Who's your favorite character? My favorites are Rocky, Ginger, Nick, and Fetcher
I could literally never get bored of the claymations
Remember that one episode of iCarly where Spencer was making a stop motion film and he kept have to start over because he or someone else would keep moving the objects
This is what it remind me of
Same
I am a space hamster
Burritos are food
THE END
lol yes!
Yup, and that's why stop motion sets are ideally more controlled than even traditional movie sets. Even a fan can ruin small details in a scene, but fortunately things like LED lighting has made the job quite a bit more tolerable, generating less heat so your clay doesn't get ruined.
Chicken run use to scare the shit out of me
ohsnapitsjen ღ SAME but I watched it anyway haha
ohsnapitsjen ღ glad to know I'm not the only one
ohsnapitsjen ღ same it was just that creepy face
RIGHT I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE LMAOOOO
Me too when I was a child! In that part spacialy when they cut they chicken's head off!!
Shaun the sheep anyone?
The Royal Memes yaaas
The Royal Memes yass all time fave childhood movie
yeah
The Royal Memes meeee
cute girl samee
I can only image the patience that's required. This is Literally the Definition of "Do what you love & you'll never work a day in your life"
This is why Aardman and Laika will always be my favourite animation studios
kinda reminds me of *pingu*....it makes my childhood
Soooo..NOOT NOOT!!!!!
Hadippu B different style..
Hadippu B nYOOT NYOOT
Hadippu B DID SOMEBODY SAY PINGU
Omg I loved pingu
Hadippu B omg yes pingu
I think the only claymation I've ever watch is Chicken run
Kelsye Jordan I only watch Wallace and Gromit which is a claymation movie made by them
Kelsye Jordan I love chicken rub
chicken run, Shawn the sheep is probably the only ones I've watched
That thing scared the shit out of me when I was little.
Ray Ray I use to watch it on repeat until the cd coukdnt play😅
It’s honestly the most underrated animation process
Knowing how much work was put into it, I'd feel guilty if I didn't like the movie.
I know is it just me because I feel kinda uncomfortable watching it?
Same, I feel bad that I didn’t like Early Man
Stop motion animation is such a process, but the end product is worth it.
How do you find this stuff?!?! It amazes me how you search the web then come across things like this to show us instead of us having to search the web for things like this. Thank you for entertaining us and and making our lives easier! < 3
A lot of big media companies like Insider are given permission by studios to do segments such as this
Thank you everyone who liked or has supported this comment at all. I didnt expect this much support.
Lets take a moment to appreciate the work and time these poeple had to go through for 1 hour and 40 minutes of film.
Even when Arrdman's animation studio set on fire and most of their hard work was gone, they didn't give up and they continued to make amazing shows and films.
What?
@@METHYLENEDlOXYMETHAMPHETAMINE I went on a school trip to a film museum years ago and one of the things there was about Arrdman. There was a model of their old studio and the plaques said that it burned down and destroyed a lot of Arrdman's work, but they didn't give up. I can't remember what year it burned down though.
This process is why I have deep respect for animators. Especially claymation animators
I wonder if anyone has ever accidently squashed a big ass dent into a figure while trying to move it
GrimTea, lol!! Same, i wonder that too!!!🤣😂😃😅
On my channel I don't work with clay, but yes I have totally done that on student projects. For example, this one time when animating with sand, I sneezed.
I also tend to do personal animations while tipsy so that does make me slightly more clumsy.
I think they bake the clay puppet before it was animated, or the clay is just really hard to not squash a dent in.
@@angellemanlangitfajardo4685 Its not that type of clay, they use plasticine because it stays pliable for longer periods of time and they have to move the puppets for every frame. How would you animate a hard baked clay figure?
And here I thought it was just some lazy ass animation
Damn that's a lot of work put into it
Hello there
IKR !!!
jhope's toe love ur profile though
Armyyyy
i hope ur kidding when saying u thought it was some lazy ass animation
Holy shit. That requires a lot of patience and perfect spot.
[MD] Marcus We can try to do without the cussing☺
@@dancingghostgirl2291 no
Amanda Sweet you do realise this is the internet, right?
0:53 I love how the scissors and snapping music in the video are in sync
When the bruh
That's so AMAZING. Even better that the 3d animation! !!!Omg the big places that they create ....I want to go and help to create animation with them and see the place ....😍😍😍😍
Pretty sure they also worked on Shaun the Sheep
Colgate Flouride Toothpaste your profile too
wtf is that
Is it just me, but that farmer from Shaun the Sheep always had be laughing😂 HIS VOICE, HE DIDNT EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH
When I was younger, I thought that they made a new figure out of clay for every frame.
7 Year old me: *"that's such a waste of clay!"*
edit: stop liking this it’s been three years i
Same lmao
👀😅
Do you still think that?
@@DrSwoose i don’t, i was 12 when i made that comment 😭😭
@@milkobeni2093 your comment is legendary
Shaun the sheep....
My childhood's favorite clay cartoon....
❤❤❤
It's amazing that lot more work is put in claymation than most people thought. It is not just making characters out of modeling clay and moving them around
I really appreciate this movies, because I know it took a lot of work, time and patience to make.
I like the #Insider Channel.. because It is better than #Bright_Side Channel
Neo Teck care the effectiveness tho and the facts 👍
True bright side's only desire is subs and likes
Thank you, come again!!
Ha
Neo Teck care yeah bright side sucks lol
I'm never gonna be able to look at these the same way knowing they basically animatronics
0:53
Is it just me or these scissors snap the same way as the beat to this music?
AND PEOPLE JUST DOWNLOAD A PIRATED COPY OF THIS MOVIE ON PIRATEBAY FOR FREE
This reminds me of Coraline 😂 (which kinda creeped me out)
Queencc different style..
Queencc Wait... is coraline a claymation?
M'aiq the Liar no
coraline is stop motion?? They are practically the same thing, other than style but they both have amateurs and stuff. But coraline (laika) uses interchangeable faces. This studio may do it the old fashioned way.
M'aiq the Liar I’m not actually sure, but I was just saying it reminded me of the movie
Holy shit imagine accidentally knocking a piece over, or making a part of a characters face a bit smushed, or even going back and watching the footage and realizing that the gap of movement you made the characters have was to long. It would make you go insane
Real pain
Characters can’t get smushed though, once they’re finished they’re rubbery rather than clay
How they are doing that wowwwww
Mohammed Kassam they just showed you
Jibanyanfaith 2003 hyperbole -_-
Mohammed Kassam its fun to do thoigh
Mohammed Kassam THEY *LITERALLY* JUST SHOWED YOU
It’s a super painstaking process that can take months or even YEARS to finish but in the end when the project is done it’s completely worth everything and all that hard work and patience the animators applied to these types of films paid off!
Wallace and grommet + chicken run gave me so many nightmares as a child. Still get the chills when I see a clip of them
I remember being so creeped out by those movies to
My favorite part is the fact that you can see the fingerprints and artifacts that make aardman, well, aardman.
HAHA WALLACE AND GROMIT 💓
Yall all of these have always been my favorite and still are I'm not afraid to admit it
When you think about giving up, think about these people. It seems impossible especially in the beginning, but they make it through with patience and dedication. Salute. 🙇🎩
I dont think that applys if your animaton project in due in 4 day and its 5 min long anf your not a professional
Not saying it’s impossible
Wow lots of hard work and effort put into this.WE LOVE PEOPLE LIKE YOU!
I will literally give a limb just to see how Aardman does their films, up close.
Fantastickle I been there
You can go to Bristol in England where they show you how they do it. Pretty sure it’s called @bristol or something
@@Jakeybakey5 It's not called @bristol anymore! I'm devastated that was part of my childhood. Basically what they had there was a diorama explaining how they animate stuff and a few lights you can turn on and off. What was more exiting was when an aardman animator visited my school in year 8 or 9 and gave us a crash course on making gromit 😁
This is the production of Early Man since 2018.
Really really appreciate this people...
HUGE props to these guys, an inhumane amount of work were put into these films
Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the sheep was my childhood xD and I still watch those movies and watch those little shaun the sheep episodes whenever I want because you're never too old!
I also find it very interesting how Aardman can also animate in claymation for movie that are more for adult audiences, like Chicken Run and Coraline (did they do Coraline?) I don't know what other movies they did but when it comes to stopmotion animation, THEY'RE THE BEST! Trust me, they can do some pretty cool stuff and don't underestimate Shaun the sheep either! oh! and also is that an elephant at 1:56 what movie is he from? i'm about to go watch it
This is GREAT !!
I salute you
All respect for your hardwork and thanks for making my childhood entertained !!!!
I have seen Wallace & Gromit and Chicken run
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT STOP DOING YOUR WORK, IT IS VERY APPRECIATED!
Wallace and Gromit is my favorite one, so far.
You can see how the animation would look when they do a timelapse
Coraline anyone?
Lady moose is that claymation? I dont remember
coraline isn't made of clay, and its from laika
Lady moose yasss
To be fair, Aardman doesn't use clay as often anymore either, favoring a combination of plasticine and silicone puppets.
Coraline is made from Laika
I am a person with really short patience, I would feel frustrated and angry while doing this. These people are amazing.
Mad props to all the hard working people! Thank you!
I always took these clay animation movies for granted. Boy, was I wrong my whole childhood! It's probably even harder than normal computer animation.
If one of their movies are bad you should still give them Applause they work so hard
Why it got recommended to me...

*THANK YOU TH-cam*

Me: ( accidentally moves camera ) Flip you camera!
chicken run is so weird but so cool at the same time!
I tried doing stop motion and it was really fun! But one thing that you really need is.... *Patience*
really ?? very hard work
Is it just me that immediately thought of Ben Wyatts claymation video? 😂
to be honest I cried when watching claymation movie cause they looks terrifying when I was little, even now I feel disturbing watching one😥😥
