Well worth replacing the radiator. A few months back the oil cooler for the transmission ruptured on my 87 S4, filled the engine coolant with trans fluid and filled the auto trans with radiator water. I looked online and this is a common problem on many older cars which destroys the engine or gearbox depending on which cooler fails. I decided to get a custom radiator made without oil coolers so I will never have this water contamination ever again. I will try using only the stock trans cooler that sits on top of the A/C evaporator and I am installing a new engine oil cooler in front of the the AC evaporator. Transmission rebuild will come next and then hopefully the engine and gearbox will run cool without the radiator heat exchangers
Yes. Some oil came out while I disconnected the oil line, but I topped it off with new oil after the job was done. I should have part 2 up in a few days. Thanks for your comments.

Did you have lower temperatures after your upgrade?
Absolutely. The temperature went to and stayed at the correct level.
Looking forward to p2. Did you lose any oil when you disconnected the oil lines?

Are some of the parts in the engine bay painted or powder coated?
I kept this a low cost build so those parts were cleaned and then painted with a high temp engine spray paint.
