Really like this video. As someone who is working on breeding fish I struggled a lot because there is a lot that you have to learn on your own that youtubers don’t tell you, however this video covers that information.
Glad you liked the video, there is a lot to learn when it comes to breeding fish and trying to make a profit for it. I think having to learn most of it on your own through trial and error is the scary part and im happy that this video has helped you and hopefully helps others getting into it. Thank you for the support and good luck on your breeding project.
Great information. I started with Angel fish. I added Sturbi And Panda corys. Last year and Gold lasers corys this year. I sell to shops in my area. One only will do credit. The other one will do Cash. My advice is before you start shopping at a store ask the question do you buy from a hobbyist? If not spend your money at a different store. There are several in my area that will not buy from hobbyist.
Thank you for the positive feedback, absolutely love Corydoras especially pandas and gold lasers. Hows the breeding of them been going for you? Also, couldn’t agree more with finding out first if your fish shop will buy fish from hobbyists or not first, i think it’s developing a good trust/ buisness relationship with the store aswell to really help them with buying fish off you but i know some shops just straight up won’t buy fish from hobbyist for whatever their reason. Chain stores in particular certainly won’t as they are usually bound by contracts but thank you for your support and happy fish breeding.
Pandas are going great. Up to 3 groups of them. 1 group of long fin. Gold lasers just got first fry 2 weeks ago. Waiting for the next spawn. Sturbi Are good great. Original group getting eggs once a week. Next generation of breeders just pulled the first eggs from 2 of 3 groups. Low hatch right but they are Yung yet.
This is the first videos of yours I’ve seen and I’m going to follow ! Just a quick one, do you have a video on what you treat your fish with for quarantine especially worming? Very keen to know what you use.
Thanks for the support and welcome to the channel. Currently do not have a video on quarantine but could make one on the procedure i follow. Not sure where you’re from but i use a brand called “blue planet” here in Australia
I’m over in Perth, I just find it hard to get 1 treatment to cover everything I want taken care of for quarantine. I don’t like over medicating my fish and find I have to dose with a couple different treatments to cover everything properly (especially for worming/parasites) Very interested in what you use from blue planet, the praziquantel in the gill & fluke treatment is what I start with but it doesn’t work on certain types of parasites unfortunately and we don’t have Metronidazole easily accessible here which covers the other type or parasite. It’s very frustrating hahahaha
Great video mate :) Lots of good tips. Iv had great success over the last year or 2 with breeding Celestial Pearl Danios and Shrimp, getting a bit sick of only making $2.5 for shrimp and $7 for CPDs in store credit, im really thinking of starting a online store to sell from, have you considered doing this ?
Thank you, what strain of shrimp are you selling? As for selling online, ive had thoughts of doing this but never gone through with it just because the stress of shipping fish just adds another layer. I work another job and so running the fish room and making videos for youtube keeps me busy enough but maybe one day in the future who knows. I think selling fish online is profitable but has its own challenges.
@@Kirks_Aquariums I breed Bloody Marys, Blue Dreams and Tangerine Tigers. Im lucky to not have another job ATM so i do have the time, but as you said selling online has its own challenges.
I unfortunately don't have many pet stores near me that give store credit even though I live in a major Metropolitan area. The one that I approached literally insulted me and said they could get their's wholesale and they would gladly take them for free.
This is when you use selling sites where your able to sell pets and fish. The problem there is having to wait for someone to find your ad and purchasing off of you which can take a bit of time. Joining groups on social media and searching if anyone is looking for what you're selling also could help a bit but then you have to worry about scammers and no shows.
If they are a major pet store than most of them won’t give cash or even store credit due to them being bound by contracts, if its a local family fish store they usually will give store credit unless the asking price is way higher than what they can buy it from wholesalers, if not might just be worth trying a different small mum and pop fish shop. Hope that helps
If it’s one particular mum and pop fish shop, they may have had a bad experience buying from a breeder or just straight up dont want too. Id suggest trying a different store and bringing in a sample of what you have to offer, i hope this helps and sorry your having a rough time with selling
Hi, im not from the U.S, im from Australia and can’t say I’ve actually ever seen these fish in my local fish shops before. Had to look them up and they do look cool though
For such a valuable content I have to subscribe
Thank you and welcome to the channel

More volume, more money. Great business tips mate 👍
In theory yes, all depends what type of fish and how much of a demand there is in your local area. Thanks for the support, much appreciated 😊
I’ve really been enjoying your videos - they’re super informative and very well done. Keep up the good work!
Glad youve been enjoying them and thank you for the support, it really means alot

Talk to them again find the owner and find out what they can’t keep alive .
Even the mum and pop shops mostly refuse the moment u ask them if you buy from a breeder
They say straight no

Why you guys in the US don't even try to breed characins? They would sell in thousands to the trade.
