I'm sorry unoriginal opinion M16 was my first sodom album and maybe it's just nostalgia but I genuinely think it is the greatest album of all thrash

Tapping the Vein is slowly becoming one of my favourite metal albums... fuck it imma say it’s their best. I adore agent orange and PM too... In the Sign is classic, their new album is great, BOD is fabulous and their newer material in general kicks ass. Sodom are one of the very best.
Agree, tapping the vein is a beast! A adore too agent Orange and pm, but my fav is tapping the vein! Absolute beast album, riffs are so brutal, vocal insane, dark atmosphere..

To me, tapping the vain is their best album.
Just how it starts, with body parts.
Extremely fast riffing and the drums are like firing guns.
The whole sound is just so intense and brutal.
I think it doesn't get any heavier than this when it comes to thrash metal.
Pleasure to kill and tapping in vain are my favorite thrash metal albums.
One of my favorite thrash bands, very consistent discography.
Persecution Mania is a sweet album great list man. Most would put Agent Orange at number one I'm just glad you keep it more about personal taste rather than popularity of the record like most other channels like yours do. Well worth the wait.
Still enjoy that record a lot but yeah for me it'll always be persecution mania as 1

I follow you 100% on this ranking! Persecution Mania is a deserved number one and Tapping the vein is a thrash masterpiece. M16 got me into the band. I was just hoping you don't put Agent Orange first like many. I think this album got popular for the cover art. I don't hate Get what you deserve and Masquerade in blood though. The band went through a lot of shit when they produced them, the members changing all the time.
Dude,we have same top 3,sick! Tapping The Vein deserves a lot more credit,if it wasn't for my copy of Persecution Mania including Expurse Of Sodomy EP with Sodomy And Lust (my favourite Sodom song ever),Tapping would be my number 1.
I would really disagree with you on Decision Day and Better Off Dead. I think Decision Day nails the mix of more melodic and technical Sodom with old Sodom and has consistently great tunes. Better Off Dead is also one of my favourites,it has a lot of great mid-paced tracks and more experimentation overall,which I enjoy. Yeah,it has two rock covers that ruin the flow,but hey,they are still great songs.

Good list! ! There's several Sodom albums I haven't owned so i can't make a list yet. But... to those out there who have not heard the EP "Expurse of Sodomy"... you're missing out! It has three songs, and quite possibly all 3 are in my top 7 favorite Sodom songs. It's a masterpiece EP, wish these could've been included on Persecution Mania and not just bonus tracks on some releases.

My top 5 could change at any point depending on what I'm in the mood for as I think they are flawless. I also enjoy every Sodom album even my least favorite. I understand we may disagree and that's okay.

Persecution Mania & Tapping The Vein are absolute masterpieces
I think you missed some things on “The Final Sign of Evil” the tracks that were not on the original EP in 1984 were actually supposed to be but, the band didn’t have enough funding to complete the full record so it became an EP instead. Also, bands usually re-record material they do not own the rights to so they can sell it and make a profit off the people who want to hear those songs.

I think Tapping the Vein is their best album because it is their heaviest and one of their most intense. I also think their crossover thrash albums are not only underrated, but are some of their best albums.
I would also say that Better Off Dead is their worst (not bad, though, because Sodom doesn't make bad songs) because it is kind of generic and dull; there is not a lot of aggression or evil atmosphere there, which I think set Sodom apart from other thrash bands.

Usually when I listen to Sodom it's either the In the Sign of Evil/Obsessed By Cruelty compilation (which is kinda cheating I suppose, since it's an EP and LP jammed together) or Persecution Mania. Agent Orange is pretty good too, but I much prefer their sloppy Venom influenced shit. Thrash is always best when you can tell the musicians don't actually know how to play their instruments. ;)

great list my persecution mania is great my second favorite behind M16(my first Sodom album i heard maybe that is why my favorite !) and before tapping the vein . Agent orange is great but overrated .

I feel like Agent Orange is a great SONG. A 40 minute long great song.
Don't get me wrong, I like the album but I never really understood why it is in so many people's number 1 and 2 slots for Sodom albums. Each song sort of feels the same. There are a couple standouts like Magic Dragon, Tired and Red and the riff changes in Agent Orange. But for the most part I honestly - and I say this after having listened to that album dozens if not hundreds of times over the last 20 years - can't tell a lot of the songs apart immediately. I'll always prefer Code Red and M-16 over it. Sorry.

I love Sodom but I definitely don't think they have a flawless discography. The first time I heard "Get what you deserve" I was pretty disappointed 😂
Sodom is definitely one of my favorite metal bands of all time. Them, Sepultura, Kreator, Power Trip and Megadeth are my favorite thrash bands.
I enjoy all their albums but my top 6 I consider 10/10s

Mid 90’s Sodom is almost worse than Kreator’s 90’s albums. Their early albums are so overrated to me. M-16 is SUPER overrated!
