JL Jeep Wrangler front bumper on Jeep JK 07-18

- If you ever wondered if the new JL front bumper will fit in your JK. Wonder no more here I show everything you need to know & do to get this to work & fit. If you guys have any questions please feel free to put them in te comments below & I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Tools:
Deep socket 18mm
3in 3/8 extension
3/8 ratchet
Trim popping tool
Extra wire to extend fog lamp connector.
Phillips screwdriver
7mm socket
Electrical tape
If you look at the AEV bumper JK installation video, you'll see that there's an extra 7" or so of wiring hiding in the loom on the passenger side. So no need to cut the harness to extend, just unwrap the harness, add wire loom and some electrical tape. They show it here: th-cam.com/video/_AUvfFZJdhI/w-d-xo.html

I recently swapped my jeep gladiator oem front bumper for an aftermarket one and now i have ESC code on my dash, does this sometimes throw out the alignment as a result...i need help
The fog light bulbs change after 2011 in the jks to the same as the jl. The bumper looks great.

I have a JL Sahara take off bumper and will be removing the JK doing the same thing you did but I plan to keep the splash pan under the bumper. Looks good and I know it (at least to me) improves the over all look not so fat looking bumper...
@Fun2 Drive I am not sure if you ever go offroad or not but if you ever get stuck on a muddy trail that you need to back out of, that plastic splash pan turns into a mud scoop.

i did a 2016 jk sahara with a 2020 rubicon gladiatior bumper. whorks fits good. lights where exact connector. just need to extend it. im going to paint match it to the white sahara we have. making look like a 2020 high altittude

Lilian Solano should have no issues bolting right up. Every mounting point is the same & can even use your own hardware off your 2015.
What's the best way to remove those plastic screws that hold the "frame cover" the piece between the grill and the front bumper? Drill them out?
Yeah if they don’t come out with the screwdriver drilll them out.
@@JJBanuelos Would you consider selling the 8 (18mm) bolts that hold the bumper? Mine are all rusted out here in the Northeast.
Would have given them to you but no longer have the Jeep or the bolts
@@JJBanuelos Thanks anyway! I was able to drill the plastic screws out. Now the hardest part is to loosen the inner 2 bolts/nuts on each side (driver side is a PITA with the vacuum pump in the way). I noticed you took the frame cover piece off and loosen the inner-nuts from the front/top of the bumper.
@@bobl8687 the 2 driver side where to toughest. all other good with just extension . but those 2 i used a pivot extension thinga machinga.
What year is the Jl bumper and what year is your jeep?
Can adapt jl fenders on jk anyone ?

They make fenders that are a replica for the jl ones with the turn singles n all its like 850 n u can use the jl grill also u have to trim it or u can buy one that’s for the jk it’s about 250
do you know if the JL Rear bumper would fit on the jk?
I don’t think it will the back end is completely different & so are the body lines

Ramon Delgado actually didn’t notice any difference at all. I think it’s just used as a air deflection device cause it definitely isn’t going to protect much.

Grill prob would not be able to just swap over since those are not the same mounting locations
