Great video. I ended up connecting the back of the JK plastic skid plate guard, and then lining up the holes of the new bumper, making marks with chalk, then taking it off and drilling new holes in the plastic skid plate. it ended up going on fine, but did take a little extra work to make the new holes.

As you said “HUGE UPGRADE!” Followed your exact steps including the electrical extensions for the fog lights, the lower splash guard adjustments and the upper plastic trim. Loved how it turned out! Have you considered a spacer lift? I used Teraflex leveling kit spacers on my Wife's JKU with 2.5" front and 1" rear and it really looks nice.
I have considered a spacer level..
And I've actually had the readylift aluminum front spacers since a week after getting the bigger tires...
But they have stayed on the shelf.. Not a fan of spacer anything.😏

what was the link for wiring harness ... great video.. inspired me to do the same. update.,. all done ... followed ya video to a tee. extreme terrain has wire extension as the others from ya link were out of stock. came out perfect.... thanks for posting.

Was thinking to do the same on my JK as well -- question is, was that a Gladiator front bumper? Not sure if there is a difference with the Gladiator and the JL front bumpers -- the silver trim on the front is killer! 🔥

The bumper I used was off a wrangler JL, But a Gladiator one is the same. So you can get either, whatever you can find.

Super helpful video. Thanks for posting. I've got mine installed minus the JK splash guard/air dam. Did you have to drill any new holes in addition to trimming the splash guard/air dam? The upper/more forward existing holes do not seem to line up on mine; the (2) rear most frame holes do line up. Any insight would be awesome.
I believe I did have to add 1 or 2 holes in the plastic, but think most lined up? It's been several years since I did this and have long sold the jeep for a new 2022 back in the day. If you skip ahead in video to plastic tray you should see how holes fall after the trimming was done.

Rear Don't work well at all.. I'd stick to front only.
Does everyone like the silver insert color on the front bumper around the if you have a silver jeep, or the all black? I'm looking at two different bumpers with those options.
I think the silver looked 🔥but to each their own.

It would be super wonky if it did.. JL rear bumper has small section of fender flare.
So that means I can fit a jk steel bumper on JL as well? There's a local sell jk steel bumper for half of JL's
Yes most will work.. But sometimes the older jk style isn't as nice looking on the newer jl's..
How are the wiring extensions holding up? Just ordered a pair.
Perfect so far.. Very nice product for such a cheap price!
Did you zip tie the jeep harness between the fog lights?
The harness has the auto style "Christmas tree" fasteners with zip tie already on it.. Just transferred from one to the other without cutting the tie.. See 7:35 mark in video
where did you get the bumper?
I just shopped around on Craigslist & marketplace till I found one close enough. Normally dozens of basically new takeoffs on there as people switch them out to steel winch bumpers.
what year jk do you have? and what year jl bumper? i have a 13 sahara.
I had a 2014 and any 2018+ Jl bumper will work.. I used a Sahara one because it looked the nicest with the silver bezels on my silver jeep..
Have since sold the jeep and just got my new 2022...

@Bonis67 aftermarket one maybe.. Stock one no and would look awful anyway
