you’re right. if de bruyne can get 23 goal contributions in just 26 games (mainly assists; 17) i’m pretty sure he can do the same or even better this season. i’m taking him.
only worry about KDB is if he stays fit, but at that point you can just transfer him

Got KDB in my GW1 team last year, only for him to get injured during the first match, messing up my draft. Since then, he goes by “Kevin the Brittle”.
Kdb generally looks unfit last season and I'm worries about his fitness . I wonder if Foden might be a better pick which he was Last season

Joao Pedro is a doubt and also Brighton are playing all of the “top 7” teams in the first 11 games. Muniz and Wood much better options IMO
No mention of Minteh at Brighton - if he plays he could be a steal. Another one to keep in mind is Bergvall at Spurs - May not start straightaway but could be the find of the season!

I'm in the same thought process that Chelsea are going to take some time to get going. Too many unknowns that I'd rather look elsewhere for Premium and 6.5. Once James is back, they'll start flying!
Diabolical to leave out Palmer in premium mids. Topscorer of the entire fpl season, played amazingly whenever he got minutes with England, suddenly just being ignored for no reason what so ever. You said not to be impressed with Chelsea so far. Chelsea was dogshit all season last year apart from the last weeks. Yet he became top scorer. If they are anything better than dogshit this year there is only more to come, so I have no clue why you would go cold on him.
Could be a mistake to start without but gave my reasoning in the vid. Basically would rather start with Saka/Son and Nkunku, who has looked brilliant for 4m less. Then move to Palmer a few weeks in if looking like a mistake
As a Chelsea fan, I can understand why, lol. He’s expensive this year and not as appealing as similar prices players in more cemented teams. Chelsea look awful, palmer might not start first game cos of rest from euros etc.

Largest price rise in FPL history - 'no reason whatsoever' (which is 1 word incidentally)
There are plenty of reason. Firstly, he got 9 penalties last year, that's not usual for a team like Chelsea. 3 less that year and he would have scored less points than Foden, and now there is a 1 m difference in cost between the two. While Chelsea was dogshit, Poch gave Palmer a free role and based most of their attack on him performing. Maresca is a whole different style of manager who values possession and more rigid structure in the team, So while Chelsea hope they perform better (the preseason hasn't been kind), that doesn't mean Palmer will be a better pick as the style of football is likely to diminish his returns. Like the rest of the England players he has just returned in training after the euros. Foden is predicted to have limited min the first few rounds, the same can be true for Palmer, and even more so as he's not familiar with the style Maresca wants and could take more time to figure it out. Chelsea start against Man City and is likely to get crushed in the first round. If Chelsea are doing OK, many would rather then gamble on a currently un-injured Nkunku for 4 m less. If Palmer is going to produce chances, Nkunku is likely to benefit the most of his team mates, so it's safer to save the 4 m and go for Nkunku at the start of the season.

It’s made me change up my draft over 10 teams with new combinations 👀 I’m thinking it is possible to go without Haaland and out score him with with two picks like De Bruyne, Isak, Havertz and Watkins. But still trying to find a way to squeeze Haaland in because we all know what he is going to do, definitely worth the price. Also been experimenting drafts without Salah using Trent to compensate for points
Final decision is I will have both Salah and Haaland. Better start the season with them and not miss out on guaranteed points.
Def: Trippier! If he stays/fit he could easily get a double digit haul in GW1. Robinson - Attacking & love those fixtures. Also a Forest defender too. Expecting they will be even more solid this year.
Mid: Murphy! Excellent pre season. Rice - he only scored 1 less goal & 2 less assists than Ode. Would have beaten him if he'd played in the num.8 pocket all season.

Great video as always! As a Newcastle fan, I see everyone raving about Tino and Hall, and I think it’s worth being conservative with a defender pick. Howe doesn’t like to change too much, and toon fans all thought Eliot Anderson was gonna break through and get regular football last season bc he played brilliant in pre-season. What I’m trying to say is assume the back four will be Trippier Burn Schar and maybe Targett, and make your GW1 picks based on that
Targett?? As someone whose prem team is Newcastle, I really hope Eddie would be a bit more adventurous than that… he used Tino and Hall a fair few times last season even if injuries forced his hand, surely he just wants the best 11 on the pitch
@@nathan-m8s I’d hope so too, but remembering how careful Eddie was last season I’d be disappointed but not that surprised if he didn’t risk Hall or Kelly in the opening game

Thoughts on Solanke at Tottenham?
that's a great list, there's only 2 players I would add myself. Barca 4m Brighton defender. and I think most people are sleeping on Amad.
What about Kulusevski for 6.5m? He's been playing up front for Spurs in preseason

I currently have nunez in my team, he could be a great asset if he scores his chances, and I believe he will. I am a Liverpool fan tho.
I don't know if you had Nunez last season, but I did and would advise you as a fellow Liverpool fan not to get him in your fpl team. Watching your team's games and seeing Darwin miss chance after chance is excruciating. Made me rage way worse than if I didn't have him in my team.
Darwin nunez was an incredible disappointment. He blanked first dgw and got injured the second one first match after a single goal for a 5 pointer @kreyp94 had him for both 😢

Bench: Leno, Muniz, Sugawara, Ødegaard
Here’s some notes:
- Sugawara upgrade if he doesn’t play.
- Potential movement with Tarkowski, Muniz and Leno, if they dont get off the right foot.
- Gordon sell and get a player like De Bruyne, Nkunku or downgrade and get someone like Smith-Rowe, if Gordon either doesn’t get onto the right foot or the run of games look tricky.
Triple Everton defence is wild
Not really sure about the hype for Saka. I know he’s nailed etc, but bad fixtures and not a captain option for me. £10m is expensive too
he's second in terms of advanced stats in the midfield. Arsenal are very reliant on set pieces which makes him a key pick.
Arsenal have the best defence so an extra point for clean sheets. Almost guaranteed to play 60+ minutes, so 2 more points. He takes corners from the right and penalties so 3-5 points there. He often gets bonus points for his performances. His avenue to points is in the top 3 of any midfielder that even in quiet games he'll net 4+ points so I think he's a much safer choice than someone like Son.
@@phoenixfire6559For 10m, his minutes are not a pro, they’re a con. We don’t even know if he’ll start all of the first 3 weeks or if he’ll get past 70 mins in any of them. I agree that he’s more reliable/consistent than Son, but Son is fully rested, has better fixtures and has more haul potential. Personally I won’t be starting with Saka but will almost for sure bring him in after the Villa game.
@@nathan-m8s Yes mate agree with everything you said, but I do think Saka will start every game and play 90. Even if he broke both his legs Arteta would still start him lol
@@24KFPL 😂 yeah it’s looking more and more like he’ll start. Very difficult for me to fit him in tho, I kind of prefer having Trent and others tbh. I’d still go Son ahead of him too just because I think he’s the more fun option and Solanke boosts their attack, making it very very balanced

Looking to decide between a Salah-only draft, or a Haaland/Salah draft. The team I have would remain the same outside of having either a combo of Porro, Saka and Watkins, or Watkins for Haaland and having 9.5m to split between the other 2 places.
Saka / Watkins is my best, Haaland always in too ❤
I’ve vouched for the Salah-only draft, until the Robot got that hattrick in pre-season. Now I’m contemplating Salah+Haaland but switch to Salah+Watkins+Palmer from GW3

Surprised to not see any 4.5 Forest defenders in there. Don’t they have an excellent xGC under Nuno? I think Aina is arguably the very best 4.5 defender to start off with unless Hall/Tino are 100% nailed on.

Regarding the Man C defence, how do we know sure what will happen to Cancelo?
Haaland, Smith-Rowe and Robinson (rotates with other 4.5's) or Watkins, Son and Gvardiol?
As good as Haaland is or might be, I can't justify him at 15 mil. as it would mean not having a Salah, Gordon or Alexander-Arnold or the likes. I'm sure Watkins or Isak + Trent would score you more points in a season than Haaland alone.
Why is nobody talking bout Munioz being second choice to Raul when he is fit??? Of which he is

Bench is weak but solid starting 11. Personally I'd downgrade Havertz/Eze and bump up the bench a bit.

Depends on your squad and GW I suppose? I’ll be lining up to play 343 with Muniz or Havertz up front, with the occasional 352 if Muniz makes the squad.
What about Solanke and Bailey ?
Any prediction on going with West Ham new forward Fulkurg with his price being just 7m over Watkins?
Fortunately their opening fixtures aren't great so he's a wait and see for me

Watkins and Salah or Haaland and Gibbs-White? That’s the only question remaining for my team. Those two pairings cost the same.

Can you sell me on AA. I feel like it’s more worth having Van Dyke and using the extra cash to upgrade a forward or mid?
Trent is on free kicks and some corners, if you look at his stats he is very consistent for expected goal involvements. Even though he’s 1 million more it’s because he gets more assists, may get more goals and almost definitely more bonus points. Trent is consistently one of the most creative defenders in the game. Hope this helps :)

The highest scoring GK (Pickford), DEF (White) and MID (Palmer) last season don’t even make the list. 🤔
What's the update on your fpl app?
Working really hard on it behind the scenes, adding a few final bits and hopefully launch this time next week. Google are taking ages to approve it as well which isn't helping

@@FPLFocal Digne is competing with Moreno and Matesen for LB. Let's not forget that Pau Tores has played LB as well. I don't think Digne will get the minutes esp after they paid £37.5m for Matesen. If you forgot a player its Palmer, he scored the most points of any player last season and being on penalties and set pieces is a plus.
