Planning to immigrate to Canada? 🛫 Whether you're just starting out with Express Entry or already in the pool, it's crucial to ensure your profile remains eligible. In this video, I’ll cover the top reasons Express Entry profiles get rejected and offer practical tips to help you steer clear of these pitfalls! 🚫❌
Common Reasons for Ineligibility:
📝 Using the Wrong Language Test: Only specific language exams are accepted for Express Entry. For English, stick to CELPIP-General, IELTS General Training, or PTE Core. For French, TEF Canada or TCF Canada are your options. Choosing the wrong test, like IELTS Academic, can result in rejection.
⚠️ Not Meeting Program Criteria: To be eligible, your profile must align with one of the three federal programs-FSW, FST, or CEC. Failure to meet these program requirements will cause your profile to be rejected.
📌 Incorrect Primary Occupation: Your selected occupation is key to your eligibility. For instance, under FSW, it must be skilled, full-time, and continuous within a recent timeframe. Picking an inappropriate occupation can make your profile ineligible.
💵 Lack of Proof of Funds: You must show that you have sufficient financial resources for yourself and your family. If your funds don’t meet the updated threshold, your profile could be rejected.
📅 Outdated Documents: Supporting documents like language test results and your ECA have expiration dates. Letting these documents expire while your profile is active will lead to rejection.
🔄 Changes in Personal Circumstances: Your profile must stay eligible throughout its 12-month validity. Changes such as getting older could impact your score, so it’s important to stay on top of these and adjust as necessary.
Tips for Avoiding Ineligibility:
✔️ Confirm you’ve taken the correct language test accepted by IRCC.
✔️ Ensure you meet the specific criteria for the program you’re applying under.
✔️ Choose the right primary occupation that fits your immigration program.
✔️ Add a buffer to your proof of funds to cover any increases in the threshold.
✔️ Keep track of document expiration dates and update them as needed.
✔️ Stay proactive about any changes that could impact your profile’s eligibility.
