Hey, this was very helpful. Thanks for sharing it. Just a quick question, if I had a foreign work experience back in my hometown, but during my study permit application my agent didn’t disclosed that and I have all the letters including paystubs, experience and work offer letter. While applying for EE profile can I add this work experience?? Your input will be much appreciated. Thanks.🙏🏻
For the intended work in canada part, do you mean to select no for job offer if we have PGWP as LMIA wont be needed
Hello! Thank Max and Erica for such a helpful guidance! These clarify some of my questions while applying for the PR. May I leave Canada while waiting for the PR result?
Hi! Yes, you'll be able to do so but once you get COPR - you can't. Read more about PRTD: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/new-immigrants/pr-travel-document.html
Great video Max! How are you feeling about bill c-19 and it’s implications?
I'm releasing a video about it this Sunday
Thank you for this very helpful video! I remain confused though on where am I supposed to add my Educational Credential Assessment infos?

Hi Max, thank you for the video. Very informative. At 26:20 you mentioned that previous work experience must be backed up with legal documents and paystubs. Can you open a bit more about what type of documents qualify for this? I have letters that outline a confirmation of employment (including position held at the company and the start/end dates of employment). These letters were prepared on company letterhead, signed and stamped. Will these work or do I need something extra? Thanks in advance.
Yes, this could help prove your employment
Super helpful video, Thank you so much Max and Erica for this, I have researched hours and watched 10s of videos but nobody gave such clarity and confidence.
However I have a question do I have to show all my previous work history while making EE profile even if there is no points for those jobs and I don’t have any experience letter for those jobs (TEER 4-5 jobs, and part time student jobs) or should I just add TEER 1-2-3 Work experience as I can back them with all required documents.
Looking forward to your your reply as would help me finish my application.
Well, you can’t count TEER 4,5
Hi Max, thank you for the video. At 26:20 you mentioned that previous work experience If it outside canada must be backed up with legal documents and paystubs. Can you open a bit more about what type of documents qualify for this? I have letters that outline a confirmation of employment (including position held at the company and the start/end dates of employment)These letters were prepared on company letterhead, signed and stamped but what about the paystub i have a worked for a company i had paid intership for 6 months and 2 years job for the same company. Hi Max , there are two different questions in work history regarding Noc - codes
1 ) that asks about Noc code number and when did I qualify for the same ?
2 ) work experience :- Noc code number - name - company name - start and end date of job
My Noc code is 32109
For question 1 - I mentioned it 31209 which was not ryt at the time of profile creation
For Question 2 - I mentioned it correctly with all details for my job with company details
I have also received the invitation for the same .
Will this impact my profile and final PR application ; bcoz for submission of the final PR file , I had to change the answer to right Noc code that is 32109 in question 1 of work history ???
Please help me out with this
I graduated from Dalhousie with a bachelor's degree in engineering with cooperative education where my 12-months co-op placements were all in Nova Scotia. These placements took place after I had aquired a diploma in engineering. My pgwp application is currently pending and I am employed here in NS. My question is, would it be possible to apply for the PR through EE or the atlantic program right now or do I have to wait for a year? My employer was not on the AIP designated list. Thank you so much for your help, Max!
Hi! It should be fine but please book a meeting with my lawyer: calendly.com/d/2f5-hmj-6k9/consultation-immigration-lawyer
Max, thanks for the video. Does your immigration lawyer consult about PNP nomination in different provinces (I'm interested in BC). Thanks for all the work you're doing!
Hi! Yes, except for Quebec
Hi,
i have a question. why don't i get points for Canadian Education on my profile? when i try the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) tool in CIC i get 30 plus points but on IRCC i get 0. i pretty much followed everything in the video.
That's weird, you might've made some mistakes when filling out the profile
Hey Max, your video is really helping me a lot in filing my PR. Can you please guide me in the work history section - I had completed my 4 month Co-op in the same company where I'm hired as a full-time employee. Should I add my Co-op experience in CEC? Although I did mentioned it in my TRV application. Your help would be appreciated!
No, co-op doesn't count. Thank you!
Hi, Max! Thank you for the informative video. I have one question regarding the Educational history. I got my Masters's from a University in the UK, but studied elsewhere via an affiliated university. In this case, what should be the 'Country of Study'? Is it the UK or the country where the affiliated university belongs? I have completed WES, and its Country or territory is the UK. Thank you!
I'd say the UK
Thank you Max and Erica for this wonderful in-depth video. I have a query if you guys can answer.
I have a 4-year bachelor's degree from India, and my ECA from WES confirms this. I also completed two one-year certificate programs at Durham College. The first program ran from Jan 2021 to Aug 2021, and the second from Jan 2022 to Aug 2022.
Even though each program was 8 months long, they are considered one-year programs. However, when I enter these dates in my Express Entry profile, I am not awarded Canadian education points. Can you confirm if I should receive points for these programs? If so, what end month should I use in the education section?

Hi thank you for this helpful video. For work history, if I was promoted, do I need to put 2 different experiences, with different job title? And will I have to submit 2 experience letters then, given that my roles and responsibilities didn't change with the promotion? Thanks in advance!
Yes, if the NOC changed
Hi question regarding educational documents 18:15, I hold a Foreign Bachelor's degree (4 Years) and a 1 year Post Graduate Certificate from Canada. My WES report only evaluated my foreign degree and gave the report as Bachelors Degree. My question is, under express entry, if I am adding my studies, should I add both my bachelors and Postgraduate certificate for IRCC to consider "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees" or should I only add my Highest education as Post graduate certificate?
2 or more ✅
Hello Max, great job. My job title is NOC 21310 but some of my job functions fall under NOC 22310. Can I select NOC 22310 as my primary job? I am thinking of this because NOC 22310 is a trade profession.
Yes, you would do that and ideally adjust it in the job reference letter
Thank you for you help! I just have a question regarding my work history. I have been in the same job (NOC 2) since I was a student and just transitioned to full time after graduation. What should be the start date for my work history?
When you entered PGWP status
Hi, I have a question. I have already been working in Canada for a job with a positive LMIA for more than a year now. Do I still need to complete the "Intended work in Canada" section? Or, should I just answer 'No' and proceed to fill out the "Work history" section? Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much for such a detailed explanation.
Would I get additional points if I was self-employed for my foreign work experience? For Canadian experience, this disqualifies you, what about foreign work experience?
Hi! Self-employed unfortunately doesn't count
Hi Max
Need your advice before submitting my son’s PR application form.
Below is the confused question.
“Did you complete at least 50% of the study or training program's courses through in-person learning?”
My son landed in Toronto on Sept, 2021 to pursue a 2 years post graduate course and he completed his course in April, 2023. Due to covid, 1st & 2nd semesters were online and for the 3rd semester, college has given the option to the students to attend the college either in-person or online. My son moved to Alberta in the 2nd semester (March, 2022) due to the job and never came back to Toronto after that.
Information from Immigration: All clients should provide an accurate response. If you completed any part of your study or training program during the period of March 2020-August 2022, your response will not effect your Comprehensive Ranking System score. “In-person learning” means you physically attended the classes or other forms of instruction.
Please advise the answer for this question
I would say yes as he was considered a full time student and IRCC is aware of the special circumstances
Thanks for this video. Super helpful.
I came to Canada on February 6, 2023. I signed the job contract with my employer, stayed 4 weeks in Canada and then went back to my home country. Finally, I returned back in Canada on June 1, 2023. My employment letter should be from February or June? Thanks
When did you start work? That's what matters
Hi Max, Thank you for this very informative vlog. Question regarding Job offer in 22:08. Let's say I already completed my entry without a job offer and somewhere along the way I managed to get one. Can I still update my entry to have an additional 50 points on it?
Not once you submit and you cannot submit without work experience
Hi Max it was a fantastic video. Great to learn about how things work for PR. You have any idea that NOC 22212 (Drafting Technologist) PNP draw has ever came ? And what are the chances of Extenstion of work permit, do that come every year?
Sadly this year - no extension
Hi Max - for Work History - do you get points for foreign experience that's a different NOC code to the job you worked for 1 year in Canada?
Hi, yes, if it's high skilled
Hi i have decided to apply for student visa in may so I got all my employment letters verified in may date but due to some problems I had to changed to June to apply my student visa application should I update my employment letters for June or it's fine ?
I'm sure it will be okay
I have a question: if the resident that is from the states were to book an appointment with erica, would there be a permission to grant an acompanying canadian resident to be in the meeting as well? Thank you
Hi! Yes, feel free to include them. However, consultation focus on one person/family
Hi, thank you for the video. I have a question about foreign work experience. I am able to get an employment letter from my employer and it is on the company letterhead, mentioning my name, salary, hours worked, dates of employment. However it doesn't mention job responsibilities. They said that they do not store job duties in their database so it is impossible for them to give. What can I do? I am in touch with my ex-manager, who is no longer working at this company. I can get a reference letter, but what is the success rate in accepting this document? (very likely/unlikely?) Asking because you might've seen many cases with this background. Thanks!
I would ask someone from the company to provide a reference, it would be crucial
Hello Max, I studied in Canada and then got an open work permit without LMIA. Immediately afterward, I received an unrestricted, full-time job offer. I have been working on it for over a year and until now. I work in the same job. My question is when I created my Express Entry profile, I did not get the fifty points that a job offer gives. What's the reason I can't get them? THANKS
Sorry for a late reply, if it's still relevant - reach out on Instagram or LinkedIn @maxmedyk
I have become ineligible for express entry as I guess I have selected "In good standing" instead of "degree being awarded" for my Canadian master's education because I completed my requirements in December 2023(got official transcripts as well) but the degree will be awarded in May 2024 so I selected the first option and I was not claiming points for bachelors.
So my question is, now on my GC account, they can see that I was ineligible in the past. Now, when I submit a new EE profile again in May(after the official convocation) should I mention my previous EE profile or I create a new GC account and then file EE profile?
No, they won't be assessing the previous profile unless you did fraud
Hi Max!! thank you so much for the video!!
i want to ask if we get 15 points under CRS - Canadian education if we have completed a 12 month program in canada
Hi! Yes, you get points for Canadian education
Hi,
I've a simple question, I've done one 4 month, summer internship while on study permit, and another 4 month internship while on my coop work permit.
So, I was wondering which one experience can I count toward my PR ??
Any of that would NOT count. You need to graduate to start the clock
Hi!
I have a question regarding the Permanent Residence process via express entry (Canadian experience class). I graduated with an advanced diploma in architectural technology, and was able to work full time for an architecture firm for almost a year (about 11.5 months). After that, ive been job searching, and haven’t been able to get a job in my field.
I guess my questions are:
1. Do I need to get a full time job in my field to gain the needed work experience? Or can I work any job as long as it has an NOC code and teer number?
2. Since my previous job was less than a year, can I add the experience I get in my next job to meet the minimum requirement of 1 year work experience? Or does the 1 year work experience have to be continuous for a specific job?
I hope you reply soon!
Hi!
1. You need a total of 1,560 hours.
2. Can be combined (different NOCs but high skilled)
Hi Max my daughter is ainternational student before and she graduate like 1 yr course hospitality and she work in AnW food chain for 4 months then she work also in Old Navy as a cashier like 1 month . Now she she have LMIA and Work Permit in for 2 yrs in Tim Hortons as Shift Supervisor . The question is when she eligible to apply for PR in Vancouver province ? . ThanksMax for the video by the way . 😊
Hi Max, I just saw this video and it is very informative and useful. I just have few quick questions about CEC.
1.Does working in Quebec qualify me for the Canadian Work Experience?
2. Can I also use my Job offer (LMIA) in Quebec to get the additional 50points?
Thank you in advance Max.
Yes and yes
Hi Max, I am working as a 'Project coordinator' in a manufacturing company, though my Job responsibilities are same as Manufacturing / Industrial Engineers. Can I choose 21321 - Industrial and manufacturing engineers NOC code for my PR application?
I am confused because my title is not listed on the website.
Hi, if the responsibilities match - yes
I got a little confused about the job offer you mentioned in minute 23. What happens if I currently have a work permit under an FTA, will I still need a job offer with LMIA? Pls help 😢
No
hi if we are on PGWP and we have a job offer that is not related to LIMA or LIMA supported or LIMA exemption can we say yes to the section that you have a valid job offer and fill this section? or it has to be LIMA supported or LIMA exemption with an exemption number? or what do we say if our experience is less than 1 year in question has been working for employer for at least one year (yes or no) please answer this
Yes, but make sure you fall under that
At the time of express entry submission, Do i need to submit offer letter that i first got on my joining or it can be job offer letter which states since when i am working for the company and the job duties at the end….please suggest?
It's after you get an ITA
hi I have 3 ques if someone has master degree from canada do he still need credential assessment for bachlor’s degree from home country ? Or can go with master only ?
2nd ques if someone is applying with full family then what to do ?
3rd ques here is question where they asked do u have nomination from province but province say 1st create profile if u r eligible then u can submit application for nomination so can we update that no to yes once get nomination from province after creating profile ?
Thanks
I recommend speaking to our immigration lawyer
Thanks Max! I understand only count 30 hours per week count towards the requirements. Although I work 40 hours per week I know only 30 will be counted. In the application should I put 30 or 40 hours?
Also, are we supposed to select Canadian Experience Class at any point in the application? Or do they just know when I add my Canadian work experience?
Thanks!
You can include 40. And it's automatic (CEC)
Just a question. U mentioned about the job offer, I only got the regular job offer from my employer, what qualifies it to be valid for express entry ?
No, it needs to be an LMIA or LMIA exempt job offer
Hi Max. My offer letter states that I can move to New Brunswick. However for now I have start work from Montreal. Can I apply for CEC showing that I will move to New Brunswick once I get the PR?
Yes, if it's federal it's all around Canada
As a student in vocational training program as a car repair and working part time also only as a mechanic, would that count as a work experience inside canada and as a job offer as well for express entry?
And I also have a good score in french which exampts me from LMIA.
What do you think Max?
You can't count it toward CEC but maybe FSW if you have 1 year
I completed the express entry pool application - but I did not get points for my study in Canada but got points for my study outside Canada, am I not supposed to get scores for both
Check if you filled everything out
Hi Max, Thank you for this awesome video. I got my Master in Administration of Science in Canada, but I have been employed in a company in the field of my bachelor's degree which is Electrical Engineer. My job title is Electrical Designer and the description is very close to NOC 22310. As this job is in the field of my bachelor's, do I need ECA for that? Meanwhile, my employer will give me a job offer with a full job description, but I don't need an LMIA. Does this job offer count as a valid job offer or do I need to answer No in the section of intended work in Canada? Thank you
Hi! In general it’s recommended to have ECA for any foreign education. No, that doesn’t qualify you for the extra 50 points. If you want that, you’d need to do LMIA (PR support)
What if you did work as a Co-op continuously for 12 months, 40 hrs a week. Can that work experience be used in the express entry profile? I read that co-op work can be used if it was continuous but some people claim it cannot be used.
Not if it was on your Study Permit
Hey my question is. When doing the application how come that they don’t ask for proof of studies in Canada or the current job that you have? That will be after u submit the application?
It will be in part 2 if you get invited to apply
Hey Max and Erica!
Thanks for this detailed video…
I want to ask something about education and working experience…
I am an airline pilot and I have 8 years experience(+1,5 years training)
But I have bachelor degree and master degree which are about engineering. And they are not about aviation industry.
First of all, what should I write about education section?
I mean my education background is not related with my job.But at the same time,I have a training licence about my job (1,5 year)…
Secondly,I want to apply PR as a pilot…so is it better to apply PR after converting my licence to Canadian licence?
Thanks from now…
Education and work experience do not need to be connected. Yes, and you could leverage the category based EE as a pilot
Thanks Max for the detailed explanation. I am about to create an EE profile for myself under CEC. My wife is on her Study permit (still got 1 year to complete her studies) and I am on Open Work permit. I just completed my one year of experience and is there anything to be concerned by creating an EE profile for myself by providing “my spouse is not accompanying me” as she is still pursuing her studies? Or do I need to wait until she finishes her studies and apply together? Please advise. @ImCanada

Hi, thank you for the video. I have questions.
1. Can I apply for the express entry even if I have less than 1 year of Canadian experience?
2. My partner is already in Canada. Can I click no? For the question Is my partner accompanying me in Canada? Since he is already here
3. In the eligibility questions do you have a relative who is a pr or citizen? Who is a brother or sister? Initially i clicked no but when I was completing my profile the question pop up again and there are choices to choose.
Like brother/sister
Spouse/partner( in this case in profile completion this choice is included but on the eligibility questions there is no choice like this) - should I click yes for this question on the eligibility question and then choose spouse/partner on the profile completion question?
Thank you so much and looking forward for your kind response.
Hi, no you need 1 year at least. You normally include them. Book a consultation with my lawyer, to make sure it goes smoothly
Do I need to take the IELTS to apply for the express entry even if went to high school in Canada as an international student??
Yes
Hi Max, I have a Bachelor degree from a foreign country and a post degree diploma I gained in Canada. Is it okay to just submit my highest level of education which would be the Canadian post degree diploma that way I won't have to submit an ECA report ?
Yes, but if you went to school here you might get more points with ECA from home
Thanks
No problem!
Hi,my inital work experience during my PGWP STAGE was from tier 4 . Now i am in tier 2 .and hve completed 1560 hrs
I would like to know to apply for pr all 1560 hrs should be from tier 0,1,2,3 only or hrs worked on tier 4 will also be counted .

Hi I worked for 6 months in NOC 3 job & 6 months in NOC 1, would that be calculated 1 year of job in NOC 1,2 or 3 & would I be eligible for CEC?
Yes
Would this be the same for AIP? Or you will be do a video on AIP?
I'll do a separate video
Wait so this is for people who are already in Canada? because on 9:57 it says work experience in CANADA so if you answer none you are already ineligible to apply am I right?
It's for CEC
Hi! Thank you for this video.
I have a question, my friend has 3 years work experience under NOC 3, he got his new LMIA and job offer too but then after 3 months in his new job, he was terminated, is it possible for him to apply for PR under express entry? Thank you and Godbless!
Yes, he can add up Canadian work exp
Hi, thanks for the informative video
I have lmia supported job , for which I am yet to complete 1 year in oct. Can i claim for 50 points before that?
I do have 1.5 yrs of Canadian job exp from previous employer under lmia exempt
One of the question for current job offer says that applicant is working full time in current work permit for at least one year? So with this can 50 points be claimed before completing one year
As when i say NO (since 1 year would be completed in oct) it does not gives me 50 points
Yes, you can claim it
I created an express entry profile and i wasn't given points for anything ,they said i was ineligible and my score was zero, please any reasons for that my ielts score is 7 and i have over 2years experience in Accounting and i also have ECA, please i need assistance
Did you qualify?
Great video. What if i have worked for 1year in Canada but not up to 1560 hours? Does that mean I have to use Federal skilled worker program instead of canadian experience?
You need 1 full year, so yeah... CEC would not apply to you
Thanks very much for this beloved video...
But if you excuse me i have only one question that made me confused...
Can i submit for canada express entry while I'm living outside of canada?
Yes!
I wanted to confirm my noc code , how i can do that please suggest?
Go to noc.esdc.gc.ca/
can you select more than one province to show interest in?
Yes, but you need to have some kind of ties to it
Hey I referred to ur video and I don't know why i am not able to gain the canadian education points can you please assist
Perhaps you didn’t enter the information right?
The consultation link is not working? Any leads reg that?

Is it paying?
Do we need to give biometrics again under Canadian Experience Class for PR?

I have a question. Can an Indian MBA graduate apply for work permit in Canada or they have to go through MBA program in Canada to be eligible to apply for work permit?

I had a question after seeing this video.
From the part ‘Canadian certificate of qualification’
I am a registered dental hygienist (NOC 32111), under went national board exam and licensed to work in Alberta. Do I qualify for a yes in Canadian certificate of qualification or is this an option only for trade workers?
If yes does this brings more points to my profile?
Not sure. You need to check the full definition
