    Best video I have seen on packing! Great job!!

      Thanks! It was my first video really and I know I could do a better job now. My goal was to keep it under ten min and just show you what I packed and not go through “why I was packing it, brands, and all the extra explaining”. I honestly think you can walk the Camino on a shoelace and not have to spend any money preparing gear. Any second hand store could get a person ready easily. I’m lucky because I’ve done a few hikes and have collected gear over the years. Could even upgrade by now to some lighter gear but I own what I own now and I’m happy with it. The less you take travelling the better. Less stress!! You can always buy something if you need to.

      @@neverlostpilgrim2817 Thanks for the reply! This will be my first "pilgrimage" and somewhat excited and nervous at the same time. I am still in the planning stages of which Camino I wish to do, but most likely the Camino Frances. Your videos are very helpful and if it was your first video, then it was still done very well!! Physical fitness, still gauging how much hiking I should do before the actual time that I do go. I have done long-distance events (full marathon (3), 100 Km race, and the Nimegan march (40 Km x 4 days with 35 lbs) with no problems, but I was young then, although I have "maintained" my fitness level at a good level for my age (retirement), definitely not as before. Once again, thanks for the quick response.

      You’ll be fine. I think it’s more important to remember to enjoy yourself than to over train. The Camino will train you! The Frances was my first one too. Enjoy!

    Could you please tell us what the name of that travel dress is I couldn't understand you and I'm very interested in getting one

      MEC “mountain equipment co-operative” it’s a Canadian company. I think this dress was my favourite item I had with me. I love it so much. I have tried to order more but it doesn’t seem to be available anymore. I think any lightweight (mine was a little water resistant as well) travel type dress would be a good buy. So versatile, good for throwing on after a shower in a tiny stall till your dry. Trying to put on a sports bra when your damp is the worst. I used it to go out in the evenings with and with out tights, a nighty, a beach dress. It was great! Highly recommend taking a dress.

      If you end up finding something wonderful, I’d love to hear about it. I’m sure there are good options out there.

    How did you convert your bottle - looks like a regular smartwater bottle - to a hydration bladder with pipe? 😲

    • @neverlostpilgrim2817
      @neverlostpilgrim2817  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes a regular smart water bottle. This was def one of the top items I'd say I brought. I loved it. I bought the 1L bottle for the size and a 750 ml because it has the sport top. I used the sport top on the 1 L bottle. Buy a small roll of "Food grade" clear tubing found in your local hardware. Mine was Kuri-Tec brand. Make sure it has "food grade" on the tubing not just the packaging. 1/4" id x 3/8 od. Buy yourself some bite straws. I bought a couple from MEC (brand 'HydraPak') that have caps to keep the mouth area clean if you put your pack on the ground. then just insert one end of tube into sport cap and pull till it reaches the bottom of your water bottle. Put water bottle in side pouch of pack and bring tube up over your shoulder, attach on shoulder strap anywhere on your pack that it allows. and cut tube where you think it would be comfortable on you and then attach bite straw onto the end of the tube and voila. Maybe I should make a video on how I made it !!! It was a very cheap and wonderful addition to my hiking gear. if you through hike the sawyer squeeze goes on the smart bottle too so you'd have everything you need. please feel free to reach out with any more questions.

    What is the brand of the sleeping bag it sounds like the same brand as your dress?, Mech or MEP or mac or what

      MEC Camino traveller sleeping bag. I met a number of Americans who ordered them and had them shipped across the border. It wasn’t that expensive , I loved it. I looked it up just now and it shows its no longer available. That’s a shame because it is so nice, soft and perfect for Camino’s. Light sheet on one side, quilt on the other so you can sleep on whichever side for cool or warm temps and it saves the weight. I think there is one from REI that might be compatible now.
