When I saw Olivia Munn chasing down a predator in her cute little shoes and a backpack with a dart gun I literally laughed out loud at how incredibly stupid it all was. Then ending was pathetic.
Yo i glad I came across this comment. It was my exact thought ! The first and second predator was so damm terrifying and everyone was so scared of an alien, but in this movie is nobody is scared and the whole movie was just a comedy.

And if she is trained, the writers will never pass the chance of even inserting something that will explain her background. For example from the movie rampage dwayne jhonson is a primatologist but even with his muscular body, one might still think that he's just some scientist/gym rat and still make fun of him being unexperience. So they explained that he is also ex military making it legit
He said he was a large fan. What are you and everyone else so mad about? That he didn't exactly specify the age he was when he first watched predator!?
Despite being a B Movie, I thought "Predators" was cool. The idea of airdropping a cultural dichotomy of killers into a training area and starting out the movie just as confused as the characters was original. The samurai duel was priceless and so was the prison shanking by the psychopath. I wish they'd fleshed out the plot a bit more, but whatever. I'm going to watch that movie again right now.
Yea preditors was honestly the second best preditor. I think if they didnt straight up lie in the trailer with some scenes then it probably would have done a bit better.
It was 100% shit. Nothing redeemable. Absolutely not funny and made ZERO sense. Can’t believe this movie actually got put out. Went in with extremely low expectations and still was shocked by how terrible it was. I love the predator franchise, even slightly enjoyed AVP 1 and Predators. I thought nothing could be worse than AVP 2 but I was so wrong. I’ve lost all faith in this franchise.
Alvin De Rama yes, even AVP 2 was leagues better than the cringe fest called The Predator. You’ve lost your damn mind if you enjoyed even a segment in this movie
It's so unfortunate that all these great franchises such as Aliens, Predator, Starwars, Ghostbusters, Terminator etc have been tarnished by the modern remakes/sequels that do not know how to tell good storytelling or add anything new to a franchise. It's a absolute joke how Hollywood is trying to milk these franchises and get a quick buck while rip off the audiences. Honestly....As a old saying goes " You can't beat the originals".
Yeah it's extremely unfortunate. The one exception is BladeRunner 2049, that movie is incredible and I was so elated after seeing it because it didn't destroy the franchise, only made it better. I guess the conclusion is let Denis Villnueve direct every movie from now on.
Never heard anyone say that Alien, Predator and Terminator are great franchises. There certainly are some great movies there, but as franchises they're not good in the slightest. To me, at least.
@@jimmygrey6848 I agree with you here. Most of these franchise films are fucking terrible and I was so worried that 2049 would trash Bladerunner, but hell..... only expanded the world. Loved every minute of it.
After how much you loved "The Nice Guys" and since "Predator" is one of your all time favorites I'm guessing this was a massive punch in the gut for you.
I feel his pain...I absolutely love the first Predator..one of my favorite films...I really looked forward to this mainly because Shane Black has been in a Predator film and I thought he'd you know...get...what makes a good predator film
As a big fan of the franchise, I'm feel the pain as well, I like all the predators movies, but this one is the worse predator movie yet, almost as bad as the avp movies.
I love everything shane black wrote or directed (except iron man 3 i liked it only and it's my least favourite in the trilogy) but i don't know why he was chosen to direct this movie. He must've thinked this way after the movie
The originals story was so simple. Macho af Mercs sent into the jungle on a hunt and kill mission. Accomplish tf out of it. On their way out are hunted and killed. Predator needs that simplicity again.
Yeah, this is the problem. Predator was never a complex story or narrative. Its really flipping simple. Its just having the best hunters of humanity against a better hunter. Simple. Its evolution in action - see how our best hunters fail against this unstoppable alien menace, until our best hunter finally kills it. Its not complicated. Although modern film making suggests it actually is. Which is why, ironically, they're getting slaughtered by their competition in the same way the Predator would rip apart its victims.
Actually they thought they were on a search and rescue mission. That's what Dutch's team was known for, he says that they're a rescue team not assassins. Dutch even gets pissed at the CIA agent when he discovers that he used him and his team to massacre the group they found. Besides that, yes the first one was great. It showed that even the best trained, war hardened military squad can be terrified of the unknown.
wtf ? i barely knew Shane Black directed The Nice Guys ! It is my favorite movie of all time as well and he directed this shit ? unbelieveable. There has to be some explanations !!!
Shane Black is good (good, not great) BUT inconsistent. Also, many conditions have to be right for him to pull it off so in that sense, he is not very versatile. This is why I always scratch my head when people assume a struggling project is out of the woods just because he is involved. For me, it's always 'hmmm, lets see' with him and this is coming from someone who was actually fine with IronMan 3 (not blown away but don't hate the film).
Hopefully, now that this film is finished he will work on a sequel to The Nice Guys. He really knocked that one out of the park and that style seems to be his wheelhouse. Shane Black is all.about the funny quips and interesting characters surrounding some sort of mystery.
Just finished watching this. Because I love the franchise, I told my girlfriend it was, and I did with a big pause before answering, I said it was..."entertaining-ish". Everyone just felt too macho and cool. Chris nailed it on the head, at least with Arnold and his squad, they felt scared. Those scared badasses helped humanize them and made them at least somewhat easier to relate to. In this movie, as with most modern movies, everyone was an action hero with not too funny lines. The movie itself and the cast are pretty well forgettable.
Why would the Yautja want to biologically improve themselves anyway? Would it not go against their entire honor system and love of sport hunting? At that point they might as well shoot prey from orbit, basically same result as super-steroids
Jarl Balgruuf Humans are evolving, other aliens are evolving, they are advancing in their technology. So how do you keep the hunt as good as it was before? You evolve and adapt yourself along with the other species. Because humans are advancing in their technology at a greater speed, it’s implied that the predators want to remain at the top and out-advance human tech and evolution!
Cathal Carson Huh? Human tech advance? YOu are using the assumption that predators themselves cannot advance their own tech. THey are their own civilization who have apparently reached where they are by creating technology tailored to help them be better hunters. By that logic, they are still creating new tech to do that. From the other predator movies they have encountered other aliens, who we don't know how advanced they were. Just because the movie is human centric doesn't mean humans are the better.
I think it’s time to start giving Predator 2 a lot more credit for being a worthy sequel to the original since nothing else has come close enough to be worthwhile!
Predator is was pretty fuckin decent. The urban background was pretty interesting, had some really nice well shot sequences was tense, little bit scary. The end fight between Glover and the Predator was great. It’s underrated little gem .
Indeed Predator 2 was the film that most contributed to the Predator lore: fighting with honor, respecting your prey, the combi stick, the hunting net.
Bill Paxton. Need I say more? "So, my doctor asked me for a stool sample, a urine sample and a semen sample. I was in a hurry so I left my underwear" may not have quoted it perfectly but I got the gist of it!
I watched it a week ago and it's very striking visually. The editing is a little slap dash and the plot over-inflated, but Danny Glover, Gary Busey, and Bill Paxton are fun to watch.
I loved predator 2. Especially the scene with king Willy. It’s only now when rubbish like this is made will people realize how good it was. The ending when all the other predators appear is just awesome

It really is. It managed to keep the suspense in an urban setting.
Predator 2 was a little too all over the place for me. When I was young I was scarred shitless of the original predator. And I remember watching Predator 2 right afterwards and looking extremely confused. The movie felt so goofy to me. But the last half and the opening 10 minutes are ok.
1997 nah, *The Dark Knight* was a great film and set the bar for, not only superhero movies, but action/crime thrillers as well blame China, they eat this shit up and give these studios $bank$ *Skyscraper* made more money than *Sicario 2* did.......... really think about that that's the route the American film industry is going, like it or not
@@shortchubbyneckbeard1681 i was talking about all those shitty star wars wanna be from the 80's and all those wanna be dark movies from nowadays (Fant4stic for e.g)
No, Marvel did a lot of hardwork, great casting, great directing, understanding the audience and delivering properly. Other studios don't want to dothe hardwook just copy the winning formula. That will never work
Incoming rant: I think most people who disliked this movie, were too caught up with expectations that they crafted based on the original film.. This movie obviously wasn't taking itself too seriously..that might be a problem when comparing it to the original, which most of the "Haters" are doing..comparing to the original. Yes, the movie had flaws, structurally and logically. Not saying it's perfect, I would only give it a 7, but I didn't have high expectations before watching it, so I actually enjoyed it for the most part. Some of the humor really landed, there were some badass moments like the black dude sacrificing himself by jumping into the turbine..no, that was not original, but I enjoyed how it was executed. There are plenty of moments like that in the movie..cliche, yes. But executed in a way that was entertaining and somewhat original. If you were hoping this film was going to be an Oscar contender, or offer a perspective that changed your worldview or something profound, I think that might make you guys the dumbasses lol..this is an action film sequel for an 80's movie. Comparitively speaking, it lives up to and exceeds the standards of your average Blockbuster action film. High Expectations can lead to raw disappointment when said expectations aren't met. That seems to be the primary driving force behind the pure hatred this movie is getting..either that, or people had the expectation that it was going to be horrible and are simply doing everything they can to prove themselves right. And then there is the Bandwagon effect that too often cripples the ability of moviegoers to form their own opinion..that is something I've noticed with not just Stuckmann fans, but fans of youtube critics in general. Aliens is a perfect example..objectively speaking, that movie sucks. It has aged horribly, has the same cliche plot that most action movies of the 80's to the current era have, poor editing and character development..yet Stuckmann loves it because of nostalgia, which causes him to overlook the glaring flaws. And most of his supporters, either equally blinded by nostalgia or bandwagoning their favorite youtuber, blindly agreed in the comment section. Star Wars 7 and Jurassic World are also good examples of this.. Chris himself oftentimes bandwagons to popular opinion to prevent a potential loss in viewers and his viewers in turn often bandwagon his opinions. It can be a shitty cycle. I've been watching his videos for several years now, and this behavior is easily identifiable..I understand opinions differ, but a truly objective viewer would see these inconsistencies/double standards. Anyways, this film obviously isn't taking itself seriously. And for diehard fans of the original, that is a problem. I just don't understand how him and allegedly knowledgeable moviegoers/fans could enjoy a film like Jurassic World or Aliens, but absolutely hate this movie..which actually felt like a passion project, even if not executed in a flawless manner, as opposed to soulless cash grabs like the examples I provided. Or you can ignore the nuances and simply call anyone who found some enjoyment in this film, an Idiot. Which ironically, just exposes your own ignorance. Rant over, dismissed.
@@dieubermensch Ehh..I might be. And I don't doubt that you simply disliked the movie..I was generalizing. Not everyone will fit the description I gave. But my whole point, was that it's pretty childish to call anyone who found some enjoyment in the movie, an idiot. There were SOME redeeming qualities, even if they're few and far between. At the end of the day, opinions are opinions. And I respect yours in regards to disliking the movie. I understand the criticisms against the film. I just found it annoying that you would basically insult anyone who even somewhat enjoyed the movie. Anyways, have a good one.
Yeaaaaaa, there goes all hope for a decent Predator universe . This movie is like watching an episode of the GI Joe cartoon from the 90's. enjoyable...in a way

How could you insult fucking gi Joe like that man?! I think I would rather watch 2 hours of Barney episodes than suffer through this thing that I'm failing to come up with an appropriately descriptive adjective for again.
Predator 1 & Predator 2 are the best ones, Predator 2 is really underrated and showed that Pred's not all bad, he won't attack pregnant women, kids, sick older people etc. AvP1 & Predators had some cool moments but they weren't as good as the first two films. AVPR felt alot like it was set in a town you'd see in a Freddy or Jason style slasher flick, which made Predator and the xenomorphs stick out in a bad way, didn't really feel much like an Alien or a Predator movie and it was so dark you could barely make out what was going on in the night scenes when they were fighting. I had high hopes with this but it sucks to know that it has so much comedy in it, love Shane Black and I love the humor of his films like: The Last Boy Scout, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Long Kiss Goodnight etc. The first two Predator films had humor, sure but they didn't go overboard with it, it's a shame they did with this. :(
The studio did the Processing of the film prints too dark to punish the directors for asking for a bigger budget, for all the stuff the originally intended to do watch the behind the scenes and there are like a million lights lol!
can we get 7000 subs with no videos!? The dude would skin them alive. It would be a troubling task to get through the excess fat and skin tags, but I’m sure the predator could do it.
The more I watch this video the more I start laughing! I can’t help but start crying of laughter when he says “wacky goons.” I love the way Chris roasts the movie in such an intelligent and eloquent way lol he is my favorite movie reviewer on TH-cam.
The film was a mess, why anyone thought turning a Predator movie into a comedy was a good idea! Also you didn’t mention the WTF ending, seriously what the $&& was that about!
*The way it ended, to me it looked like a (hint) of another movie. By the way, did you stay through the mountain of (credits)? I did. I thought* *they would show that there's another movie in the making in a couple of years. But nothing.*
Hope that they made a sequel with the simplicity of the first one and without that "marvel comedy style". I really prefer a movie of the guy with the suit of the end of the film fighting with thousands of predators and humans than another action/comedy film.
Just saw this movie and I've already told several of my friends not to bother going to see it at the theater do not rent it on Redbox and when it's in the $5 bins at Walmart don't buy it. It's awful. When it comes on television turn off the TV. Scroll past it on Netflix, avoid this movie at all cost.
@Cdc9877 fr, I cringe and hate it when the kid is somehow smarter than ADULT SCIENTIST and somehow knows how to use ALIEN TECH. Dumb movie. I was excited to see it because it's a predator movie but it is what it is.
I was like wtf am I watching halfway through the movie. I just want to unsee it. I cringed at the end I was expecting some type of skynet AI that will teach humans how to build advanced defense systems to protect the world not one little suit.
I'm not at all surprised. I've seen Iron Man 3 and every other Shane Black film. He makes awesome comedy-noir mashup films, like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys, but in my opinion, he isn't very good directing outside that vague genre. I hated Iron Man 3, and I worked on the damn film and met Shane Black on set! I never thought this movie was going to be any good, and I was clearly correct. Shane Black has a specific set of skills as a director that work for a certain kind of film, and when he veers from that, we get crap like this.
You were clearly correct and yet you haven't seen the movie it seems? Do you see where your logic is flawed in that statement? And Shane Black is a fine director. He's obviously using these blockbuster movies to help finance his real passion projects and I'm totally fine with that. Probs to Black. It's how the business works.
Hmm. Expert opinion. I assume that's why you, yourself, "Sean" are such a big Hollywood name. I mean, you must be a real successful movie maker... Wait... Isn't Shane Black still directing movies?... Wait... What are you doing?.... Ohhhh. Yeah. That's what I thought.
it new chance if he tried a new genre like this movie give it a serious take and maybe 1-2 funny line and that's it but i guess not he gonna stamp it it's "joke movie" like his previous movie.....
I agree. Kinda wish that wasn't the case. I like it when I found out his thoughts after hearing more about it. I feel like the thumbnail kind of prejudices me coming into it.
So glad I'm not alone. Alot of these critics have no diversity of opinion and the audiences that watch their reviews tend to conform to their opinions.

The movie as a whole was just...randomly...complicated but it didn't take itself too too seriously (which isn't bad). I'd just kind got bored with it. What really got to me was the significant lack of emotion. There was so much indifference to what was going on, and even when the characters do react it's very underwhelming. Like how they didn't even have a reaction to the Predator dogs and just ran them over while trying to get to the kid. And the pacing sucked, too much going on; it was too hectic, significant things were happening and being quickly moved on from (a certain unintentional suicide) and little to no settings or scenes were allowed to set...it was just one thing right after another until the very end. Amateur movie. REAL amateur movie.
The indifference was what also bothered me in avp requiem where the characters did not care about what they were up against. Hell, the predator in that movie was hardly acknowledged at all!
a certain unintentional suicide* I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THIS GODDAMN BULLSHIT. The only emotional ties we have between two characters and BOOM, one of them dies before we even know why.

I hope this leads to a revisionist critical eye towards 'Predators' from 2010. That movie did everything this one tried-- fights between Predator, the concept of 'super' Predators, hunting tactics like traps and alien dogs, and *SPOILERS* humans using and adapting Predator tech--and did them better (except for maybe that last one). Each of the fights was unique instead of just fruitlessly spraying assault rifles at nothing, and since there was a team of Predators they could support the entire movie instead of having to add the military as secondary villains like this one. I think it's the best Predator entry since the original.
I agree. Predators was a damn good movie with good characters and it had that thrill that this one certainly lacks. This movie should just be swept under the rug, cause movies like this cannot hold a series.
me too, people were all excited because he was part of the original movie, but his only involvement was some script punch up and a minor role where he delivered the worst line of the movie (pussy house joke)

Eric The Viking mine are 1. Jurassic World : Fallen Kingdom 2. Predator 3. Rampage 4. Upgrade 5. Deadpool 2 6. Infinity war 7. A quite place 8. Ant man and the wasp 9. The Nun
Yep. We all predicted this over a year ago, that it would be crap and would kill the franchise. Such a shame and a waste of potential. We knew when Boyd was cast as the lead, we knew when the pictures of preds in camo were revealed, we knew when we saw the cast photo, we knew when the re-shoots took place. It's becoming easily predictable to us, so you'd think the producers and writers and directors of these big movies would take a hint from us, but of course they all try to make their products like Marvel or aim for a trilogy. So fucking sad. This will be a bomb at the box office. There will be a TV series next, but let's hope it's done well like the first two movies, and that it's on HBO or another channel that has no restrictions.
I agree. It always kills me when people call out others for their criticism of what was obvious from the very first trailer. Granted everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion but there's reason why these flicks fail and nostalgia for the original and hate has nothing to do with it. The movie sucks.
Kill the franchise? You act as if the franchise still had legs to stand on. Predator and Predators, Predator 2 if you like a decent B movie... Do seriously care that much about the Predator franchise? Fuckin loser
Gosh they could have made such a cool movie here but honestly it was seriously vanilla. Not one memorable moment that I would consider watching again. Why kill the small predator off so soon, he is the whole concept here, not the stupid human soldiers that will be forgotten in a month by anyone who has watched this. How about this scenario..Big predator is causing chaos on earth , Small predator gets sent to stop him. Small predator is the main hero here (not to be killed off). He enlists the humans somehow and they sort shit out. Or they could just leave humans out. Seriously, Does anyone remember the humans from AVP, or AVP requiem. The director needs to make a film such as this for the actual Predator fans and not for the general public expectations.
Yep I definitely enjoyed it, had a good blend of comedy plus action and never took itself too seriously. I feel like most people are just shitting on it because of the sex offender thing.
Felipe Romano Well now, where do I begin... How about some fucking Predator's riding on a tank buddy budding with some human soldiers from the army base... The plot was that a couple of stranded Predator Yautju was living on a secretive army base for the passed two years... Oh and yes, they had the Predator's wearing tan army fatigue pants while chilling with the human homies... The first test screening of that plot was smacked down so hard to wear they had no choice but to reshoot the second and third act... And you my have even seen the terrible screen photo's of the ridiculous set scenes of the Predator's on the tank with human machine-guns, and wearing human paints even... I know you had to have seen those photo pics, if not Google it, it's the reason why this movie had been re-edited and re-shot...
I swear. All I want is a Predator film that stands on its own, pays respect to the universe, no recycled homages, quips and one liners (I'm sick of "Get to the chopper" honestly), and is actually *good and scary* . But instead the people making these films are like a SpongeBob episode not understanding what *good and scary* means. Predator 1 and 2 have set the groundwork of the property's universe. What I want now is a more sophisticated and serious take. But now that Disney owns the Predator property, I'm not holding my breath. Considering Sony published the recent video game (which I actually enjoy now in-spite of its faulty launch), I dream of the ultra unlikely chance Sony buys the property.
It's also painful to see such a terrible movie when there's an awesome extended universe in the games, comics and novels already developed and available to be adapted.
Nobody is asking for a horror movie, the original movie wasnt a horror, but it was serious and suspenseful, and people arnt happy that this new pile of ass never once has an actually suspenseful or serious moment. It doesnt help that almost none of the jokes are funny, and that the movie is littered with plot holes, and jarring tonal shifts.
You are right. The movie was so great. The only thing that was bad was that they changed the reason of coming to earth from hunting to getting upgraded.

The best/funniest part is when Olivia Munn's character is randomly chasing after the Predator after it breaks out of the lab. Like what? I almost left the theater after watching that ridiculous scene.
Saw the first movie and really liked it. Was hoping that this one would be a worthy sequel. Thought the first one was one of Arnold's best movies. Sad when a new classic could've been made.
If I thought the previous movies were at times cheesy or corny, would this movie appeal to me more? The fact that this Predator doesn't take itself so seriously is actually a selling point to me.
Man, for the first time in a while Chris feels like a human with actual opinions and not a robot that churns out cookie cutter plastic reviews. Shame about the movie though, I was also really looking forward to it. I think a lot of the sequelss don't really understand what made the first one so good and try to superficially ape it.
That scene when the Predator had killed a bunch of squad members in a truck and used someone's arm to give one of the squad members who was driving a thumbs up when he asked if everything is OK was the probably the funniest part of the movie, I think me and the rest of the theater watchers who saw this film were laughing because it was so funny! : |) Unfortunately, my dad was more disappointed than me after watching this film. I was disappointed too, but not 100% disappointed. I was even more disappointed when this was the same guy who directed one of my favorite films of 2016, "The Nice Guys." Although it was nice to hear the theme from the 1987 Predator movie, it just got so annoying after playing it many films throughout the whole movie.
The trailers clearly paint this movie as one that doesn't rely on tension. So if I go see it with that in mind and don't constantly compare it to the original, maybe I'll have a good time ^^
I enjoyed it. I knew what I was getting myself into. I would make it canon with the first two and predators. But if they make a sequel to this, they need to step it up.
I thought the same thing, but I still left the theater disappointed. I legit cringed through most of the movie. This is definitely the worst of the Predator movies. 😔
You know what I usually do with those type of movies? I wait for the internet to "send" it to me (wink, wink). Sorry, it's tough times and movie tickets have not gotten cheaper.
In the 80s and 90s movies were more authentic and well built, with poor cgi but good scripts and actors.. Arnie nailed it at 87's Predator and as a kid I even had nightmares about the uggly mother*.. Nowadays? The franchise is dead.. So sad.. These people earn millions by doing films like these?! Why?? Jokes, bad narrative and mostly random gore and action.. I even thought Royce(Preda killer) could be the weapon in the capsule(end scene), like interlinked back stories, but not even that?! I don't know, some hidden plot? Ok, smart kid, dumb action.. So much potential... What a waste.. Again..
@@caveman3744 its definetly missing that among other things they just do what they know will sell and that doesn't seem to require any effort when it comes to the writing.
missing factors are intelligence, hunger and talent. Movie studios want to be factories producing repeatable product with repeatable revenue, so they can be securitized and leveraged. They simply dont give a fuck about 'art', individuality is their worst enemy, because its unpredictable, and they want it smooth. Also, Hollwyood became propaganda machine instead if being center of entertainment business. Exactly the same happens with music. If they wanted a movie that would be of high quality bmovie like first one, they simply should employ McTiernan to do it - I dont care about his IRS problems, and if studio execs had any brain they would sign him to make another 20 films (dragging him out of troubles). They choose otherwise. McTiernan is pure talent and craft, not many directors can touch his level.
What a waste. A huge budget and any choice of director and they come up with this? Seriously!! One ridiculous idea after another woven into a plot with a completely stupid sensibility. And that is being kind!
Totally with you on this. I've only just seen it (been putting it off for a long time haha) and it's worse than I feared. It's truly an abomination devoid of anything that made the first film phenomenal. Feel like throwing it out the window!
Having seen this myself, this movie feels more like a comic book movie than a Predator movie. Like if they took a Predator comic book and made a movie out of it.
Have you actually read any of the Predator comic books from Dark Horse? They take their Predator stories a lot more seriously. I'm thinking your idea of comics are more like Archie or the Sunday funnies.
I know. It feels like one of Marvel's MCU movies, especially the early ones, but not as good, in that it feels like an origin story for a Predator-themed superhero. Heck, the ending pretty much hints that the main character is going to be a Predator-themed Ironman.

SHANE SPURR If Shane was trying to make the worst film possible...well, he acomplished.

Maybe there's something out there Major, and it ain't no Predator
Thank you! My thoughts exactly!
Jarl Balgruuf
Humans are evolving, other aliens are evolving, they are advancing in their technology. So how do you keep the hunt as good as it was before? You evolve and adapt yourself along with the other species. Because humans are advancing in their technology at a greater speed, it’s implied that the predators want to remain at the top and out-advance human tech and evolution!
Ok, hear me out. Weaponized. Autism.
Cathal Carson
Huh? Human tech advance? YOu are using the assumption that predators themselves cannot advance their own tech. THey are their own civilization who have apparently reached where they are by creating technology tailored to help them be better hunters. By that logic, they are still creating new tech to do that. From the other predator movies they have encountered other aliens, who we don't know how advanced they were. Just because the movie is human centric doesn't mean humans are the better.
I didn’t expect this movie to be this bad, an absolute garbage
I think it’s time to start giving Predator 2 a lot more credit for being a worthy sequel to the original since nothing else has come close enough to be worthwhile!
Predator is was pretty fuckin decent. The urban background was pretty interesting, had some really nice well shot sequences was tense, little bit scary. The end fight between Glover and the Predator was great. It’s underrated little gem .
Indeed Predator 2 was the film that most contributed to the Predator lore: fighting with honor, respecting your prey, the combi stick, the hunting net.
I'll give it some credit in that it has some interesting ideas, but I don't feel like they add to the movie itself very much.

I was going to say the same thing about Venom, but hey some people have different opinions.

How was Thomas Jane, and Alfie Allen?
AssembleA Those macho dumb liners killed it for Me with Boyd But my favorite character was Coyle only cuz I’m a Big fan of Key and Peele.
AssembleA I couldn't have said it better myself :))
I was hoping you'd mention the part where Sterling Brown blows his own head off with the shoulder cannon. I rewatched that part probably 10 times, crying with laughter.
Just rewatched the first Predator, still great. Sad that this franchise has turned out this way.
Predator 2 is fine
AvP is actually quite great
AvP Requiem is just awful
Predators is very fun
Should have never been a franchise.
Exactly. It should have been one movie, and that's it.
Terminator same way
Ikr I was really hoping for a sequel to predators
The Nice Predator.
Predator Predator Bang Bang.
Predator Man 3.
The nice predators 😂💀
Lethal predator 4
and he wrote Lethal Predator
3:35 Long pause…truly expresses disappointment!
When I sleep my, nightmares are filled with the image of Olivia Munn chasing down a Predator in her cute little shoes and backpack. Then I awake and the REAL nightmare begins when I realize this was a real movie.
I just want Shane Black to make The Nice Guys 2...
Yes!!!!! I've never liked a single Shane Black movie but I loved Nice Guys. I also hate sequels and shared universes and all that crap but the one movie I would actually be so down for a sequel of course, nada....
They can't build a "nice guys universe, a NGU" so studio won't green light it.. meanwhile, here comes more extended universe garbage from every direction
I just want Shane Black to make Iron Man 3 2.
+Cosmic Well, that's...*scoffs* good luck with that.
+HTTRskins21 Well, aside from Iron Man 3, which in my minds was actually fine, I heard Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was great! He's only made so many movies. How have you not liked one?
U r 100% right.. No suspense no scary no predator movie.. I, m totally disappointed like I'm crying..this is not comedy movie.. now I'm gonna see again classic Arnold predator..
GET TO DA CHOPPAH!!!
the king of cool ....Predator 1 is a classic movie that will never have another like it with an All Star macho cast!
Get to the choppers!
A weird trend I was noticing in movies lately is that they do not commit to suspense or drama and instead make jokes.
Dont forget the surfing on the alien space ship and nobody fell off .
The indifference was what also bothered me in avp requiem where the characters did not care about what they were up against. Hell, the predator in that movie was hardly acknowledged at all!
a certain unintentional suicide*
I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THIS GODDAMN BULLSHIT. The only emotional ties we have between two characters and BOOM, one of them dies before we even know why.
Yea that scene was so confusing. It happened so fast I didnt know why or how it happened. If you blinked you missed it.
@@bltsandwich567 The shoulder cannon seemed to track via head movement, so when said person looked to his/her left, the shoulder cannon on the right shoulder looked in that direction also...aiming at the head as a result and the shot was already charging so...
I think it's the best Predator entry since the original.
godsavant Bruh this movie doo doo what do you mean?
I agree. Predators was a damn good movie with good characters and it had that thrill that this one certainly lacks. This movie should just be swept under the rug, cause movies like this cannot hold a series.
Predators is shit
godsavant completely agree. While that movie does have some flaws, i feel It captured the basic essence of the originals perfectly.
It might as well be Citizen Kane compared to this shitfest.
I suspected that Shane Black wasn't the right for this movie and apparently I was right.
suspected* ;)
@@shutterfilms7276 True, thanks for the correction I am pretty tired right know.
me too, people were all excited because he was part of the original movie, but his only involvement was some script punch up and a minor role where he delivered the worst line of the movie (pussy house joke)
I said this from the start, mainly because I hate all of his other films and could not see how his style would fit.
JonMacFhearghuis
i kept saying the same thing. i guess people still give him too much credit because he wrote lethal weapon? most of his movies suck. same tropes. xmas, gifted children, ptsd and armor that self remotes to do stuff
Wow just watched this and it easily one of the worst films I've seen in awhile. The story, the editing, everything was terrible. Holy shit.
Fuck this movie.
WHAT ARE WE SOME KIND OF PREDATORS?
Tell that to the franchise's snapped neck
Were some kind of predator squad.
What are we? Some kind of overused meme?

1. Upgrade
2. Deadpool 2
3. The death of Stalin
4. Infinity war
5. Blackkklansman

Spider-Man: into the Spider-verse

The cast? Sterling K Brown, Thomas Jane, and Travonte Rhodes are exceptional actors. The cast is great.
I’m sorry but imo you are straight up mental if you enjoyed this even slightly
I wanted bleach for my eyes afterwards.
I actually enjoyed it but its extremly forgetable.
I liked it
i mean some people enjoy shitty corny action flicks. Theres obviously a market for it how else do you explain the expendables series.
I’m in the military so I thought it was hilarious
I remember the humans from AVP. There was the black chick, white boy, old man....
5:27 Spider-Man. Calling it right now.
Spider-Man. Calling it right now too.
everyones calling it man ... we all know chris too well

I thought it was good B+ for me
Yikes....
@Hugh Mungus I just loved this movie
I’d give it 7/10. Enjoyed it.
Yep I definitely enjoyed it, had a good blend of comedy plus action and never took itself too seriously. I feel like most people are just shitting on it because of the sex offender thing.
@Hugh Mungus it's called opinion. Google what that means. I really enjoyed it. And I'm a huge predator fan.
Not once did I think keel and peel was a marine.
What about Theon?
dereksbooks nope. They were all awful
Where you a Marine? I think the group of military characters where the best part of the movie.
Young Chuck Norris is more believable than these lames
And mind you, this is the reshoot version of the movie, the original script that they shot and finished before canceling was even more stupid...
Really? That gotta be real fucked up..
Felipe Romano
Well now, where do I begin...
Yeah i remember those photos and since then i knew this omvie gonna suck xD.
Imagine Arnold came out of the pod at that end scene like “GYET TO DEE CHOPAA”😂I would’ve died lmaoooo nah but I was expecting a xenomorph lol
Wait Disney owns this now? God.... they butchered star wars allready
Prey was really good
I loved this movie, Its not trying to be a horror movie its trying to be a action comedy.
Lowes Manager ..... exactly.
It failed miserably in the last half
Yeah thats the problem
overall review:
1)acting: 4/10

The best/funniest part is when Olivia Munn's character is randomly chasing after the Predator after it breaks out of the lab. Like what? I almost left the theater after watching that ridiculous scene.
Funny, that scene made me laugh and made me continue to watch. Loved it, movie was a comedy.
Starring Harvey Weinstein and Brett Ratner.
Starring Olivia munn. Who had to sleep with both for the role.

Saw the first movie and really liked it. Was hoping that this one would be a worthy sequel. Thought the first one was one of Arnold's best movies. Sad when a new classic could've been made.
first AvP was alright! 2nd was totally whack!
Yeah only problem with the first one sorta too restricted , might’ve been nice to see a r rating.
Top predator movies including the crossovers
Predator
Predator 2
Predators
AvP
The predator
AVP requiem
The only good thing about AVP:R is the Predator design
I agree!!!
Unfortunately, my dad was more disappointed than me after watching this film. I was disappointed too, but not 100% disappointed. I was even more disappointed when this was the same guy who directed one of my favorite films of 2016, "The Nice Guys."
Although it was nice to hear the theme from the 1987 Predator movie, it just got so annoying after playing it many films throughout the whole movie.
The trailers clearly paint this movie as one that doesn't rely on tension. So if I go see it with that in mind and don't constantly compare it to the original, maybe I'll have a good time ^^
And you will, trust me. Not a "great" movie but a good film for nowadays.
I enjoyed it. I knew what I was getting myself into. I would make it canon with the first two and predators. But if they make a sequel to this, they need to step it up.
It is not a good movie, but it is fairly entertaining.
Again..
I know like are there any good movies these days its pathetic
McTiernan is pure talent and craft, not many directors can touch his level.
i don’t even go to the movies. and no not even for marvel. they feel like assembly line products.
OMG that would have been AMAZING if Royce came out.
What a waste. A huge budget and any choice of director and they come up with this? Seriously!! One ridiculous idea after another woven into a plot with a completely stupid sensibility. And that is being kind!
Aside from the autism thing, it fits pretty well into the lore of the franchise, when you factor in the comics and novels
failing upwards seems to be the trend everywhere
you mean the doctor aka soldier ...
Glad I downloaded instead of wasting money. I will say they did do one thing right, they set up one hell of a follow up film
I've seen some Predator comic books and they seem better than this
No because the comics are waaay better because they set them in space and add real stories they keep putting it on earth and keep going to avp style crap it’s gonna ruin predator
Ripping off popular trends is the reason it feels that way
