I think they probably could've, but than also getting all the merch ready. Jerseys, helmets, arena branding ect... it would've been difficult. I obviously would've loved it, but I don't think it's super easy to turn it all around in 6-7 months or whatever it is. I mean hell, pretty sure the turnaround time for Adidas jerseys was 2 years.
I think they just want more money. Think about it. They sell these generic jerseys and merch for a year. Then turn around and sell to the same fans new merch with a real name the next. Why does the Jazz need rebranding every 5 years? Why leagues do city versions? It just brings in more money from fans that want the newest and might attract fans to buy that don’t like what is already out.
Even if they have to go with generic logos and uniforms for a year, I hope they can at least choose a name by the time the season starts (even if it isn't actually officially used unti 2025-2026). Even with the disappointment of them being the Utah Hockey Club for a year, I'm incredibly excited. I'm only a 30 minute train ride from the arena, and I'm planning on going to probably at least 5 or 6 games next year. My family used to have season tickets for the Capitals in the 90s and early 00s, but we moved to Utah in 2004 and I've really missed the NHL.
Look on the bright side, at least they won't get laughed at at the nhl draft like carolina did in their first year when all they had for their first pick was a jersey with the nhl logo on it and someone mocked them by saying, "you can't even afford a jersey!"
I get them wanting to take their time. I do think if they tried rushing it, it wouldn't have been great either. I'm still disappointed with this though
it didn't need the Hockey Club in that logo still wonder if if the logos will be what the hockeysportslogo site put on the jerseys the Utah word mark i like that better then the circle also that dark jersey i get Blue Jackets cannon jersey vibes maybe that is why the black looks like a dark blue
one large "U" or some arrangement of "U H C" (e.g. like the Rangers stadium series jersey this year) would be far better than just having "Utah" on a generic template
Or just "utah" diagonally. Personally, i would rather have salt lake than utah. Because when i think of utah, i think nba. Wouldn't make sense in the nhl.
@mrvroom188 once again, how does any other team even come close to how this team has no name (just the designation, and no real logo, here, have a cricle) and how does mentioning any of this change the facts of what kind of joke this team is already before one game is played?
They seriously can't come up with a name and logo by September?

Quicker than Phoenix can come up with a stadium…
Seeing this just makes me wish they stayed in Arizona. The Coyotes never took this long coming up with an awesome name, logo, and uniforms.
Hopefully the next year's is an improvement

Sadly, Hive and Swarm didn't make the cut. As long as Hockey Club isn't chosen, I can live with the other names.
Will you stream any Stanley Cup finals games?
Sadly I'll only be able to stream game 5. So I'll stream that one (if it gets there lol)
I'd be shocked if it doesn't go to game 5

Well, that's if they have their jerseys made up. It's possible they don't still
I have never seen that. Where did you see a picture of it?
Forgive my ignorance, what is a war mark?
Wordmark. Basically when it's just text instead of a logo. Think the Rangers jerseys, they have a wordmark.
@@TheJerseyZone Oh! WORDmark. That makes sense, I heard “war.” 👍🏻
@@garrickmusic Ya thats on me haha. Probably mumbled it trying to say it too fast or something
Utah Zyns
They just need to get off their ass and go with something…

Peak american creativity, no name, just the designation of "hockey club" and the most basic of logos, a circle...🤷🤦♂️🤣
Well there are three Canadian teams that literally just mean Canadians
@@mrvroom188 I fail how that makes what I said false or wrong.
@@tylerdurden4006 I agree it’s stupid, they should just name the team now. I’m just saying that Canadians aren’t that creative either.

@mrvroom188 do me a favor, tell me and explain these 3 teams that you think are worse names than the designation of just "hockey club"?
