The SLK350 is a true roadster in that it is RWD, seats 2 passengers, and most importantly features a convertible top. The 2012 Mercedes SLK350 has a starting price of $54,800 and comes with a powerful 3.5 liter V-6 engine making 302 horsepower and 273 lb-ft. of torque which is enough power to rocket the little roadster from 0-60 MPH in 5.4 seconds.
The hardtop retracts in 20 seconds making top-down driving one push of the button away. The 2012 Mercedes SLK350 not only looks sexy it drives like a dream. The interior is cozy and comfortable and features some great technology including Magic Sky. Even the 7-speed transmission shifts like a dream. The SLK350 gets 20 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway.

Definitely the Mercedes. I've had both a Boxster and two SLKs and have driven each from the English Midlands to Northern Italy and back. The Porsche made the palm of my gearshift hand raw and my back sore, but the Mercs were relaxing and comfortable. Both would go sideways with little provocation but the Merc would lurch in low gears due to the combination of powerful engine and "sudden death" accelerator. The deciding factor might be your age: in Germany where they know of such things, young men want Porsches and older men want Mercedes. And they can't give away VWs, Audis or BMWs. It's all about the badge.

+Xox ~w 💕 The 350 is basically a 250 with a V6. The 250 is cheaper and there are two variants available a 1.8l turbo charged petrol or a 2.1l twin turbo diesel. I imagine its similar in the US

Does this reviewer do any research? What does he mean no one else does retractable hardtop that folds away in 20 secs? Z4 has retractable hardtop as well. It's nothing special.
This car is so ugly compared to the Z4. Never really liked Mercedes interior either. Looks so fiddly.
