I love her and respect her a lot. She is beautiful, classy, intelligent, unproblematic, confident, articulate and so uniquely her. The best quality about her is that she has not lost her sense of self which is an admirable quality to possess. I have read her book and she details how she got the iconic look that she has and she is unapologetic about how much work it takes to look the way she does. She is an inspiration to all women of all ages. I highly recommend getting her book...it covers everything related to beauty from basic hygiene to makeup and hair. She also talks about other iconic women in her book as well like Marilyn Monroe, Mae West. Her book also emphasises on the importance of healthy lifestyle. I wonder how she keeps the roots covered as quickly as hair grows. It really takes dedication to not have roots with such a drastic color change. And her hair never looks damaged.

@@michelleclark8099 Dita has said in interviews that she colours her hair every 3 weeks. Plus, if required, she touches up roots or any gray hair or blonde roots sooner.

So her mother instilled her feminine roots by introducing her to the style, and making that their "thing" together. That's so sweet.
She’s currently on tour and she made sure to cast diverse men and women to preform along with her. She always makes it known that while she might be the most mainstream burlesque preformer there’s so many other preformers in the industry who should also get shine.
She has to otherwise woud get attacked for not being "diverse enough" 🙄

I remembered seeing pictures of her and Marilyn Manson and I didn’t know who she was but I was like “wow she is beautiful, possibly one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen.” And it’s true, she was and she really has that like old Hollywood glamour

One of my favorite lessons from my years earning my B.A. in communications was “speak quietly. It unconsciously makes people lean in- and when they’re closer to you, you have more opportunity for eye contact, light physical touch, and persuasion” - the best and has been very effective in my life.
I’m also a natural blonde who recently filed for divorce, needed a change and my best friend who does my hair and I decided on a rich burgundy - GURL. With 22” extensions, this transformation has brought me SO MANY COMPLIMENTS AND ATTENTION, and people who don’t know me compliment my hair color and when I tell them I am a natural blonde, they said “I would’ve never known.” I love it. 32 and finding yourself - your new self - is incredible power. ❤

Legends (performers from the 50s/60s like Gypsy Rose Lee, Candy Barr, Tammy True, and the queen Josephine) and modern performers (Ginger Valentine, Immodesty Blaize, Chere Noble, Frankie Fictitious and my personal favorite Jessabelle Thunder).

She is an icon in so many ways. But I can attest that vintage glamour takes many years to build your skill set of hair styling, makeup, styling, deportment not to mention the extensive wardrobe. I was so fortunate to get a front row seat to her first visit to New Zealand in December 2019 (the last show in her world wide tour and extremely well timed considering what happened a few months later). She is a goddess!

I’m with you, Karine; where has all the glamour gone,,,I have collected and worn vintage clothing for many years. I adore it, my favorite periods being the teens, 30’s and 40’s. I don’t turn out completely in vintage anymore, but wear various pieces. Used to wear my teens dresses and hats, shoes and people would freak. I miss those days💋 love your piece on Dita.
What’s funny is we have a similar diet lol . I also love the classic vintage looks. I personally feel like I lived in that time before. I have a beautiful collection of pointed toe heels ❤️. Classic is timeless.

Dita’s Stunning a true Modern Golden age beauty, and very intelligent.. Awhile back I found out Dita is a natural blonde. She rocks black hair beautifully, I’ve always thought it so chic and jazzy for blonde women to color their hair brown, dark brown, or black… I’m definitely amazed how her interest in Retro and Vintage Clothing, lingerie, and makeup inspired her Entrepreneur endeavors…

I remember her kindness and quiet grace. She was also very generous, sharing the secret to her fabulous waist line (using old fashioned corsets) This was BEFORE the Kardashians brought it into the mainstream…Dita even offered one of her’s! I didn't think any of the folks I follow on TH-cam would be a fan of Dita!
I started producing burlesque/Cabaret shows bc of Dita. And am totally inspired by her outfits (Made by Catherine d'Lish... Designer of the original "rich widow robe") when I make the costumes for my shows.
She's an icon. But to me, it's not even so much her burlesque talent that I find most impressive (which, if you've seen her live, her shows are always amazing), it's how she used that to pivot into many businesses and created somewhat of an empire. To me, that's ultimate goals.
