It simply was worth the wait. Every episodes hits in the right way, I"m never bored, I'm never utterly confused.
This show is exactly what quality HBO content is 🔥 from the character development, cinematography and superb writing. Easily the best show on tv atm 🐉
That flashback with Daimon had me jump up out of my chair! Excellent writing!
Allison and Rynera sceme was my favorite with Demon a close second.😊

Episode 3 was great it’s really building up and leading to war which the preview for the next episode looks like it’s about to start and I will be seated! 💯
I liked that they showed how the haunting of Harrenhal isn't just superstition but real. Ryan Condal said two things in an interivew: 1. Harren the Black chopped down some weirwood trees and built Harrenhal on top of it (surrounding that one surviving tree); 2. blood of the builders was used in the mortar. Sounds like blood magic, from a blood sacrifice. So magic in Harrenhal is real, with multiple causes.
There's people that appreciate dramatic political intrigue and there are people that just want the Westeros version of Godzilla x Kong.

The episode was actually the weakest in the entire spinoff this far imo. The pacing was off and the way it was shot didn't feel like house of the dragon. The acting of those solders in the field was pretty bad too. Also didn't fit in or feel like the show should. It has nothing to do with the lack of "makethingsgoboom".
@@superkoopatrooper4879 No it wasn’t. You clearly never watched Game of Thrones as it aired. so you don’t even know what this show is supposed to be. It’s the drama and the political intrigue that makes or breaks this show. And the soldiers and small folk were acting consistent with how people in this world have always been.

This episode sucked; worst episode of HOTD and GOT. Really a dumb take to say people criticizing the episode just want Godzilla x Kong. The only intrigue in this episode was Rhaenyra meeting with Alicent the last 5-10 minutes of the episode. There is a noticeable focus on DEI in the last two episodes instead of focusing on telling an intriguing story.
The writers are doing great, rising above every flaw of the last season of GoT, but man - Emma D'Arcy is just killing it. They are far and away my favorite actor in any show I'm watching or have watched this year.
Great? They have butchered many things from the source material.
@@stew-03 The source material is based on 3 biased witnesses in a history book so it is mostly open to interpretation. Also impossible to 1-1 translate book to tv because it is 2 different mediums.

I like that the Blackwood Bracken conflict that was instigated in part in the first season with the duel at Rhaneyra's marriage tour has reemerged. It really shows you that there are a lot of moving elements in the realm beyond just the main factions.
I love the storytelling of this series. They haven’t gotten to war yet and everyone is glued to their tv screen. I really wish Star Wars would take a few notes. Great episode of Hot D… and speaking of Hot D…. Ummm there was a little (lol) too much D and umm the sucking part was ummm… interesting to say the least but great episode none the less…. The story telling just continues to get better.

This show is so good the writing a chef kiss, the acting omg that face from alison when she relizes generational F up she has done And tenerlas face knowing her father never change his mind about her being heir to the throne this show gets better and better
It's so good because yes this season feels like a setup season. There's like 3 other shows I've watched lately that were setup seasons and it felt bad... but this keeps things moving and there are such TENSE scenes it keeps you enthralled!

BRILLIANT episode tonight!!! Rhaenyra is a true queen. She did everything in her power to prevent bloodshed and war. Now its WAR 🔥🔥🔥🔥 That ending scene was absolutely needed before blood is spilled. great stuff #HouseOfTheDragon
Judging by some of the comments, you can tell who started watching GOT after the hype got built up to all-time levels and binge watched most of the story versus the ones who started the journey at the grassroots level. This episode was far from “boring”…it’s necessary! These type of episodes tend to be the best re-watch material as the bigger bloodier episodes lose some luster over time.
Amazing episode. The script is iron clad and the actors give so much care to perform it. 🎉🎉

GOT (Seasons 1-6) and HOTD have stayed consistent with their writing and storytelling. I find it interesting that we are watching the Acolyte simultaneously as HOTD... night and day difference in writing quality. Perhaps we should be praising George R.R. Martin because he created the outline (for lack of a better word) for the television show.
all in all good that final scene just bugged me because it seemed unrealistic the leader of one faction would travel into enemy lines with one mere knight

Unfortunately for you, he didn't crap his pants. In fact he showed forethought, leadership & decisiveness in the scene, probably saving all their lives in that snap decision to look up & run for the trees.😊

But she did say goodbye. . we didn’t see it but it was said in the harbor scene when discussing the Driftmark succession. .
Listen, I will definitely defend some parts of the Acolyte cause I think it’s just OK so far but then I also agree with others when they call out the obvious problems with the show House of the Dragon is exploiting one of them. The idea that a show like this can be given that really long runtime for its episodes shows just how much better it is for Disney to take notes. Stop making live action episodes so short for your eight episode seasons.

@@jmelitojr Totally agree. Episode 1 was in comparison to S1 Ep.1, a mid-tier premiere. Liked this one a lot more. But for me, episode 2 was near perfection.

As a fan.. I would much rather see Kristian do a review of House of the Dragon over The Acolyte tbh... I understand the love for Star Wars but Acolyte is a weak show and those 25 min episodes could ve covered in 10 minutes as opposed to these beefy HoT D episodes with so much going on. Deserves more love imo. Its the best show out right now

I think it was a bad choice by the writers to make Alicent somewhat sympathetic. She should have been a Cersei-like character, thirsty for power. It seems silly that all of this is over a miscommunication, and not in a good way, but in a poor writing choice way. It portrays women as "girl bosses" but also lacking agency. It suggests women are better leaders, but the writers also don't want to make them responsible for all the impending deaths.

I'm still with it but it's not hooking me like season 1 did. I do wonder if Allicent will start to doubt herself now that she knows about the Song of Fire and Ice.
