Ok, I adore you two! Found you thanks to TH-cam's mysterious algorithm and I really enjoy your realness, your sass, and your ability to make viewers feel we're there with you. Keep going, guys!!
I love your storytelling. Thank you for sharing your inner thoughts and for making your videos the movies of your life. It makes your journeys and discoveries truly your own. This is your story, make the videos for you. Keep it up.
My first time to Langkawi was in the circa 1977... no ferries... a boat from kuala perlis... jetty was... a wooden jetty... or you jumped off the beach... The road in town was made of white marble... no resorts to speak of... and stay was at the Goverment Rest House...
Glad that you love Langkawi! It is truly a magical island. But do visit Redang/Perhentian Islands,Terengganu (east coast of peninsular Malaysia) and Sipadan/Semporna/Mabul Islands, Sabah (east Malaysia/Borneo). Their beaches are world class!
There are others in perhentian islands, redang, tioman (east coast). Crystal clear waters with corals. Hope Josh can visit East coast of the Peninsula.
Found your channel searching TH-cam for "Hawaii botanical garden". Have enjoyed everything of yours I've watched. The comments are great too cuz it's crowd sourcing more of what people know on the topic. Anyway, glad I found this channel. Great travel info channel.
something special in Malaysia and in their islands and beaches are the atmosphere and feeling that is very calm and serene. That is what differentiates Malaysia from other countries in the world. You can feel an incredible calm.
This video has inspired me to plan my own trip to Langkawi this May!! (used points to fly business to Singapore!) Then we are doing a quick 1 day stop in Singapore and 10 days in Bali !!! Love your videos, stories and approach to travel.
Wow! I can’t believe that your favourite beach is Tanjung Rhu! We splurged and stayed at the Tanjung Rhu Resort for our honeymoon! We adored it and were lucky enough to do a catamaran tour around the islands. It was wonderful! We can’t wait to get back there again!
So sad to see it so quiet. I hope the tourists come back and they can recover. Oh my, that beach is insane! Loved it. A beer for 50c and that food looked amazing. Take us there now! Thanks for sharing this guys 🍻
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. Really sad to see some small biz couldn't survive throughout d pandemic. Tanjung Rhu is also one of my fav beaches in Langkawi. D food by d beach looked really good too.
@@LisaAndJosh Hopefully so too, d small biz will recover soon. Thanks for supporting them. D food u guys had looked delicious, d stall wasn't there d last time I visited d beach. 🙂
Fun Fact: Beaches in Malaysia are by law Public... there are no private beaches... unless private due to natural accessability... but still accessible from ocean side...
Hi guys, I've kinda discover the two of you, after watching couple of vlogs, love it,so I've already subscribed, can't wait to see more, Safe travels ya
josh u gota go check out the island in the east coast, perhentian, redang, rawa … Langkawi is beautiful BUT these islands are on another level, clear blu waters
If you are still in Langkawi - go find Cafe Mawart - it's a hidden gem of a cafe that locals, tourists who know and artists go in the middle of the island. It's magic
I always insist on driving round the entire island and trying to see everything whenever we go on holiday. The family go along, but don't have the same enthusiasm for my checkbox tourism... We got as far as this beach on our first day in Langkawi, parked the car and spent the rest of the day chilling out, playing in the sea and taking pictures of the fish shaped rocks!
I hope you guys visit the Philippines. That has some of the best beaches on the entire planet. Some places are really developed and others are so remote that you don't even have regular electricity.
for sure philippines has beautiful beaches like El Nido, Boracay even Siargao. i mean 7k islands is no small sum. Malaysia only has 800 plus islands while thailand about 1400. But what josh means probably is enjoying a remote beach(no crowds) for free(no crazy charges, meals are cheap and inexpensive). As a budget traveler they appreciate that. I mean having a meal at Boracay at the beach at station 2 isn't cheap right? Or at Phuket, Koh Samui there are crowds like Boracay right? Even at Bali it is the same. Meals for 2 persons (western meal) in Bali is about USD 70(some outskirt areas are cheaper of course). In malaysia, less than USD 10 for western meals even at KL(the new york of south east asia).
@@stac it is just his personal opinion bro. We lived in south east asia, we know some good spots to go. Tourists in malaysia can still find good spots for beach and corals in sabah and east coast of peninsula. But maybe too far away for some travellers. We do have similar spots like boracay, el nido even sandbars like naked island siargao. But since it is less touristy only locals know those spots. For me, the lesser known(under rated) the better for locals. Our beaches are less crowded because it is too hot in the day to go.
Thank you for sharing so much of your travels, the good and the bad, with us. I enjoyed watching Josh try to describe the feeling of travel. I think he did quite well because the beauty of it is just hard to put into words. Just one question, I know you jump in the water often but how do you handle the heat day after day?
thank you for watching!! :) the heat can definitely wear on us (especially those of us from much more colder climates!) so we take breaks often and find places with breezes/AC! also riding the scooters help!
Two hundred years ago Langkawi used to be part of Thailand( called Siam at the time). Some Thai descendants are still living and speaking Thais over there. They call themselves Siamese.
You have to try the cable car to go up to the top of the mountain the scenery is amazing because you can see the islands of Indonesia and Thailand there

The best beach in Langkawi is in private property of The Datai Hotel. Another secret are beaches at those secluded islands encircling main island of Langkawi but you need to ask knowledgeable local guide to bring you guys there as those beaches at those islands are secret hideaway.
I think the Philippines and Indonesia have better beaches and islands than Langkawi but some people love Langkawi more due to its laidback lifestyle, not too many tourist, no drunken tourists, it's conservative local people and not too pricey. It is not desperate to be Bali or Phuket. People love and hate it as what it is.
@@LisaAndJosh south east asia has the best beaches in thailand(1400 islands), malaysia(800 islands), philippines(7000 islands), indonesia (17k islands). everything is great in Langkawi. what we need just effective and efficient infrastructure maintenance by local government agencies. the rest lets the business peoples done their part.
They (perhentian and redang) maybe beautiful in term of clear blue water, but the backdrop is pretty boring, The beach in Langkawi especially in Tanjung Rhu beach has a dramatic limestone formation which makes it more majestic and beautiful
