I’m an international flight attendant and recommend your videos often! I like this one a lot bc you prove you can cover a lot of ground on public transport. Bravo for the gray London I know well. Cheers.
here's hoping we get to see you on a flight one of these days! thank you so much for recommending our videos and for all your hard work taking care of everyone flying with you
I'm so glad you managed to sample some of the delights of British food, even if you were in the most expensive city in the country. Come back again - there is SO much more to my country.
@@LisaAndJosh I recommend - and I understand your videos are about bang for the buck - taking a look at the north of England and Scotland, two areas so often missed by the tourist industry. Both areas are incredibly rich in history and culture.
West Minster Abby and St Paul's are free to go for a service but after the service do your free tour , but check it out first because things can change .
Nice to see you both on my old stomping grounds. Around 8 or so years ago, my wife used to go to Uni in London and I'd catch the train down there quite regularly to hang out. As we were both young and broke we used to walk around Camden Market doing 2 or 3 laps trying free samples of food, before rolling around to the wetherspoons for cheap drinks. If you're ever back in the UK, or want any help with an itinerary outside of London make sure you put something up! Would love to show more of this wonderful country 😊
Here’s a travel hack for London. If you go into Westminster Abby for Worship, not only is it free, you get to walk around as long as you want after. That’s how I got inside Westminster when I was a broke college student. Absolutely worth suffering through the hour of service and it was a bit of a cultural experience too. You can do the same for St Paul’s.
Another great video making us want to go somewhere new! My wife and I are starting our travel vlogging all over the Philippines, but we'll eventually venture out to the rest of the world. Maybe we'll see you guys out there!
I haven't lived in London since 2008 and what struck me was how incredibly expensive everything was. Particularly compared with when I first lived there in the 1990s.
@@annother3350 It was different in the 1990s, there was no congestion charge, no ULEZ, cheaper parking, cheaper public transport and much lower council tax and the price you paid for food and hotels were eye watering. Fees for entering Westminster Abbey were not introduced until 1997. Borough Market sold more raw food and ingredients and less meals and snacks and it was mostly locals and workers and the prices were a lot cheaper.
I'm so used to seeing you two in places I haven't been to, so seeing you guys in London was a new kind of fun. Cracked up at the love Greggs was getting XD truly an institution!
Love your videos! Thank you for this Christmas themed video ! I struggled with the audio in this one and I missed a bit of what you were saying however.
You guys came into my feed, and I’m so pleased. You are such a great couple, who made the most of everything, and seemingly had a great time, with your infectious smiles and humour. Please come back soon. Happily subscribed, too. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Great post Agreed the chippys are the best Great to see you guys smashing the Greggs sausage rolls …. I lived on those beauties when I worked in Cardiff ….. it’s been a long time since we’ve eaten there… Please tell me you guys had a full English breakfast in the morning 😂 Keep the adventures coming From Claire & Jay WA
So excited to wake up and see another installment. I enjoy them so much I was sad when it was only 30 min🤪 I think I missed the details of the hotel you stayed at. Do you have a link or Google map location?
I love you guys so much!! Idk if this goes against the whole ethos of the channel, but would you be open to doing a $250 a day video? I like being budget as much as the next guy, but if Im in London, I will splurge for Beef Wellington, or those few attractions even if they are $30 each. Most of us travel to a single city once in a lifetime and if were lucky more than once. I get that some people have a stretched out budget but I am just a bit above that for my trips and feel like you guys are missing the finer things that the city has to offer and thus hindering the whole travel experience! I understand if you feel differently, but just an idea/suggestion! Looking forward to the next one regardless 💌
this is a discussion that we've been having a lot lately, actually. no clear outcome yet, but we're taking a month break in january to figure out exactly this :)
@@LisaAndJosh tough decision. Maybe you can do a “Splurge Button” and only activate it when you both vote/agree on it. Like an oh shit handle it’s there when you need it. 💗🇵🇷🙏🏽
To me, travelling on a budget is all about accommodation costs. I visited London a couple of years ago and spent a week at a very cheap hotel in Earl's Court. It was all of 6 square metres. The bed was most of the space. The shower was tiny and I struggled to get my fat belly past the brick half wall that was there instead of a shower curtain. Next time I'll be a bit less stingy.
The answer to the question “Are biscuits cookies in England?” is a resounding no. Unlike biscuits, which are typically crisp and crunchy, cookies in England refer to soft, chewy, and slightly cake-like treats. They often contain chocolate chips or other additions.
You have to be careful with central London tube stations (some are really close to eachother). By the time you've got down to the train and back up the other end, you might have been better off walking? Save yourself some money and see a bit more of London.
You never just call it Buckingham. Buckingham is a town in the county of Buckinghamshire, also if you get a cab wanting to go to Liverpool Street Station, and ask for Liverpool he will take you hundreds of miles away to the City of Liverpool.
Hi there, great video! I am bringing 1.2k pounds with me to London to spend on food. I had booked a table at Gordon's Bar and Grill and was wondering if it is actually worth going and eating there. I am spending 1 night in London and 6 nights in Manchester btw
4:49 Omgggg I love that you went to Greggs ❤❤❤ haha amazing. An institution across the country. I’ve even bought my mum a £15 Greggs voucher for Christmas hahaaaa. Love you guys! So chuffed you visited even for just a shirt trip! X
It does seem wrong to me Charging People to enter Place of Christian Worship. But the upkeep of these Building's is very Expensive. But it still seems wrong.
Oh wow!!!! you are in my home city!!!! (I miss London but I'm having such a great time in Vietnam) Love your content!!!! we always look forward to your posts... Yeah the bikes don't always work as you experienced hehehe Lisa you had the best thing in Gregs... heheheh glad you got to see Big Ben - it was closed for a while as they were restoring it :) As I was about to say you should have gone to Bough Market you rock up there hehehe.. yeah lover your attempt at the accent hehehe Aww good old Camden! You forgot to mention all most of the museums are freeeee Yeah the Thames Clipper goes all the way up and down the Thames... for a fraction of the price of cruises... Thanks yet again for the content.. where you off to next?? only 24 hours in London isn't enough hehehe Next time you're in London can recommend some decent accommodation at reasonable price 😉 Happy safe Travels
Just kidding! Just saw the Rosetta Stone ad! Glad I can learn to take a holiday. Might actually consider the offer as we have two months before we do Japan!
The face Lisa makes at 17:35 is so funny and cute! Merry Christmas Lisa and Josh! Thanks for the great videos.

Well done for not getting fish and chips from a pub, it's the mistake most tourists make.
They taste good but it’s not worth going across the ocean for.

Greggs is more pupular up north but funny thing is most of us think its getting way overpriced these days

9-15 on a Sunday and now I have to drive to Greggs!!
Your Oyster should have had a daily cap of £14.90 when using buses and trains. Hope you didn't overpay!
Even if you pay via card - contactless it should get capped unless they paid by cash
You should use it on the boat too i think for a discount
yay this is my 2025 destination, thank you for covering it!

“Two countries divided by a common language” a British friend once told me
greggs is overpriced, much better to go to a tesco or Sainsburys local
Greggs is more popular in the North of England. Southerners are a little bit snobbish about it.
Most towns in the south have multiple Greggs, so I don't think that's true!
Lol. No such thing as "London on a budget". No matter the time of year.
Did you guys had any problems with the language barrier? 😂. Their English is a little different
